Chapter 35: The end (Part 2)

After getting acquainted with my new draconic form, I spread my wings wide. With only a single flap of my wings, I launched out of the sea and began to make my way toward my home for most likely the last time in a long while.

While flying, I think to myself, 'The feeling of wind under my wings will never get old. Looking back, I didn't expect anything from this new life. I knew that I wouldn't be here forever and I was fine with that, but after almost twenty one years of living in this dragon filled world, it has definitely grown on me.'

Lost in thought, I refocused back on what was happening around me and felt a slight tingling feeling at the back of my neck. Looking below me, I could see the outline of the bewilderbeast encasing Hiccup and toothless in a cocoon of ice. Spotting Astrid, I send her a quick message.

I say, ['Hey beautiful. Look up.']

Seeing her do so, I can see that she has a shocked look spread across her face.

She sends me a message, saying, ['Since when have you been able to turn into a dragon?!?!']

I respond by saying, ['Since before our bewilderbeast was killed. I plan to make my appearance soon so try not to be too shocked.' ;) ]

In confusion, she asks, ['What do you mean by that?']

Instead of answering her, I heard Toothless's challenging roar and decided to dive down. What I didn't realize was the fact that I was now larger than berk. So, instead of landing in front with the rest of the dragons, I was forced to land on the side of the island facing against the bewilderbeast.

Seeing me Hiccup asks in astonishment, "What the hell is that!?"

Seeing the bewilderbeast begin to back away in an attempt to flee, I began to follow my instincts and charged up a plasma blast Gojira style. Hearing the sound, the bewilderbeast turns it's head and tries to blow some ice at me in an attempt to stop me. Feeling the ice breath wash over me, I let the heat from the plasma beam desintigrate the ice. Seeing it's attempt had failed, the bewilderbeast decided to try and flee again, but I would not let it. It tried to kill my family with our own dragons. Even if he was being ordered to do so, it does not get the right to flee from the consequences.

Taking a moment to aim, I focused my energy and released the pent-up attack. A brilliant beam of violet colored plasma erupted from my mouth, searing through the air with a deafening roar. The blast struck with pinpoint accuracy, burning a massive, smoldering hole through the creature's skull. Its eyes glazed over as the bewilderbeast breathed it's last breath.

The resulting shockwave was colossal, a wave of force and heat radiating outward. Instinctively, I shifted my body, spreading my wings wide and crouching low to shield my clan from the brunt of the impact. The ground trembled beneath us, but I held firm, ensuring no harm came to my family. As the dust settled and the echoes of the blast faded, the creature's body collapsed into the water with a thunderous thud. I moved swiftly and discreetly, using my large body as an obstruction to obscure my movements. The massive corpse vanished into my inventory space, leaving no trace of it on the battle field.

After looking at my stats one, I turned around to face my family for the last time. Their eyes were wide with a mixture of awe, relief, and sorrow. My heart ached with the weight of the moment, knowing that this was a farewell. I took a deep breath, the air filled with the lingering scent of smoke, and as I lowered my head to their eye level, I watched as they all began to back away in fear. All except for Toothless and Astrid.

Astrid walks up to me and says, ['I had a feeling you were going to be a large dragon, but this is a bit overkill don't you think?']

Smirking inwardly, I respond with, ['I agree that I'm a bit bigger than I expected, but I think this is better for our future.']

Confused, Astrid asks, ['What do you mean?']

With a mischievous tone, I say, ['You'll see soon enough. You should probably explain who I am and say your last goodbyes before we leave. Make sure to let them know that we will be back though.]

Smiling sadly, she says, ['Will do.']

Seeing Astrid walk back toward the people of berk and explain as much as she can, aka make up whatever story they will believe, I can't help but feel a sense of longing for this life that I am leaving behind. After twenty years of living with these insane Vikings that will do anything for you at the drop of a coin, where they treat you as if you were their own flesh and blood when you barely know them, where they would literally die for you if you let them, it's kind of hard to not see berk as home for me. As I came out of my musings, I saw Astrid walk back toward me with Hiccup and Toothless.

When they got close to me, hiccup hesitantly says, "Fen? That you in there?"

Seeing me nodding my head, he says, "Are you able to change back?"

Shaking my head no, I bring my claw up and gently poke his chest, then I pointed at Toothless, and finally at the people of berk.

Seeing his confused look, Astrid says, "He wants you to be chieftain of berk in his stead."

Looking at me in shock, I give off a low rumble in amusement before looking at Astrid. As if understanding my look, she waves at the people of berk and hops onto my head. As I rise my head, I hear Toothless' roar of gratitude as I spread my wings. Taking one last look at my family, I roar loudly and flap my wings. I launch into the sky with Astrid holding onto my fur.

As we rise above the clouds, I order my system, 'Open a portal to ROB.'

[Portal opened.]

Before entering the portal, I say to the system, 'Thankyou for serving me this whole time.'
