A difficult decision

“When do you think would be the best time for us to go on the vacation?” James asked his wife while toying affectionately with her hair. He was sitting on the sofa in their living room while she was lying on the same sofa with her head in his lap. Ever since that day when she had resolved to lay bare everything that she had been hiding from him, their relationship had been all but perfect. Of course, Zoe still broke out in cold sweat and was always terribly afraid of the consequences of her actions each time she thought about telling James all that he needed to know, but now she realized that he had the right to know everything and as a matter of fact, so this Zoe.

“We’ll go in the third week of October.” She said quietly, closing her eyes and enjoying the sensation as he played with her hair.

“Are you sure? That will clash with Zoe’s birthday. Are you sure you want to miss it? You’ve never been away during her birthday.”
