Chapter 5: Divorce

Three Kingdom continent,

In this continent, there were three ruling Dynasties, one was the Great Yan Dynasty with five main kingdoms governed by Lords who should have the Nascent Soul realm.

All five main kingdoms played their role and controlled the law and order in the governing land while Emperor Yan oversaw the Lords so they wouldn't misuse their power and harm innocent civilians.

Ye Heng was the Lord of War God kingdom, with Nascent Soul realm and he's an essential Lord for the Great Yan dynasty as he was the only Alchemist with 4th Tier level making Emperor Yan benefit the Ye Clan in exchange for 4th Tier pills.

As an Alchemist, Ye Heng knew what connections and relationships he should maintain for the benefit of his clan. In the entire 1000-year history of War God Kingdom, he was the third ancestor of the Ye Clan and at the time of wars with Demonic cultivators, he truly showed his fighting strength making the other Lords of the opposite Dynasties vary against him.

Even his two sons were talented at the age of 50, both reached the Golden Core realm and with the talent shown by Ye Chuang the Ancestor Chu, who was the lord of South Wind Kingdom upon his daughter showed love interest in Ye Chuang, he talked with Ye Heng who immediately agreed his request as he liked his daughter-in-law's intelligence and temptation while he believed that with her involvement his son wouldn't have a problem dealing with maintaining Ye Clan.

But when he was at the Five Years Summit meeting in the Star Yan City, the capital of the Great Yan Dynasty, his son committed adultery against the sacred marriage. The marriage between Chu Lingshu and Ye Chuang was done in the Tian traditional way and it was very sacred in the Three Kingdom Continent.

Ye Heng was ashamed, and enraged for what his son did as he almost killed his son with his own hands after coming from the Five Years Summit, but was stopped by Chu Lingshu.

"Move aside Daughter-in-law, my bastard son has to die today for what he did to you!" shouted Ye Heng, a crimson fire surrounded him making the others suffocate but Chu Lingshu stood between them in the Hall of Ancestor Ye's Palace.

"So, this is why you called me here Ye Heng?" asked Ancestor Chu, shocking the couple, Ye Chuang kept down his head with shame as he couldn't look at his Father-in-law's face for the adultery he had done to his wife.

"He's all yours my dear friend, my words are absolute you can even kill him," said Ye Heng with a cold emotionless face, taking back his flames.

"Father…"

Before his daughter spoke, raised his hand to stop her speaking as he didn't want to hear her excuses for what her husband did to his daughter.

"You are banished to the frontlines, serve there for six years under the Chu Clan's army but not as a commander but you are serving as a soldier while your cultivation is sealed to 1st sage of Yuan Dwelling Realm," said Ancestor Chu, with cold eyes gazed at Ye Chuang.

"I am ashamed for what my son did, even if I apologise that didn't enough and I am giving you the highest position in my Ye Clan and you are the Clan Mistresses when Ye Chuang is in frontlines" said Ye Heng, while he gave her the token and order scroll.

It's been six years, under the Chu Lingshu the Ye Clan led the prosperous as even Ye Heng was impressed by her intelligence. The day came when her husband came from the frontlines, she thought that the work she did would be recognized by her husband as she even gave the Clan Head seat to him again but Ye Chuang didn't appreciate her effort while he secretly wooing Han Laun Er and even provided the security to her.

This treatment led to the following incident of making Han Laun Er serve as a personal maid for the guest and Han Ling Er taken to Ice Cloud Palace.

Ancestor Ye's Palace,

In a room, Chu Lingshu sat on a chair with her head down feeling guilty after all she used her authority to misuse an innocent mother and cruelly separated her children. She was a mother, knew how much Han Luan Er should have felt and she also knew the reason her Father-in-law ordered her to visit him.

"When I first saw you, I felt the brilliance from you and knew you are the best Daughter-in-law for my son but he failed your trust and as a father who wouldn't raise him properly, I also failed in giving you a good husband," said Ye Heng, with a slight smile on his old face and got up confusing Chu Lingshu but her eyes widened when she saw Ye Heng was bowing to her.

" Father-in-law! What are you doing?" Chu Lingshu yelled, instantly stood up and told her Father-in-law not to bow to her.

"If a child does a wrong thing, it is because the parent didn't properly raise the child and I should be the one to apologize," said Ye Heng bowing to Chu Lingshu making her tremble seeing a Lord of the kingdom apologised her with a bow made her broken-hearted, tears rolled out from her eyes as her knees fell on the smooth floor while covering her face that she couldn't see her Father-in-law bowing.

"Please stop bowing Father-in-law, I am sorry for abusing the power of an innocent person…hic~," said Chu Lingshu while crying, knowing Ye Heng doing this to not go any further with a jealous mind toward the innocent people. 

"I am not disappointed in you, I know when you hoping to get recognition from your husband but he didn't even gaze at your genuine love and anyone would be angry in your place but I am begging you don't go any further as I don't want you to suffer anymore," said Ye Heng still bowing to her, Chu Lingshu stopped crying while wiping her tears and took a deep breath.

"You are a righteous person Father-in-law; I am sorry to disappoint you with my actions" said Chu Lingshu, bent her waist to ground and she gave respects to him.

"Then the main reason, I called you here is to divorce my son" said Ye Heng using his Qi, lifting his Daughter-in-law so that she sat on the chair, she had a shocked face when she heard the words from Ye Heng.

"Father-in-law what are you saying?" asked Chu Lingshu she didn't get what was Ye Heng saying to her suddenly to divorce her husband.

"Me and your father both decided with this matter, divorce him and take the Clan mistress seat" said Ye Heng with a stern voice while Chu Lingshu astounded hearing this, looked down gazing at her hands and remembered all the memories of her with Ye Chuang while every time she was the one who was trying hard to hold the relationship.

"I tried but in the end I also have patience…..I am agreeing to divorce Ye Chuang" said Chu Lingshu while Ye Heng sighed with relief as he didn't want to destroy a good woman's life with her son.

'Son you have to blame yourself for losing such a good wife' thought Ye Heng and shook his head with regret at losing a wonderful daughter-in-law.

"But I won't take the Clan Mistresses seat, I want to focus on myself and my son now onwards Father-in-law so, let him be the Clan Head" said Chu Lingshu with a detected face which saddened Ye Heng's heart feeling that his son lost faithful wife.

"You can do whatever it is, I don't oppose it but I won't let my Clan's prestige any further down even my son has to be punished if he's wrong," said Ye Heng, later he told her to leave while arching head back feeling mentally tried and thought if his wife was there this wouldn't have happened.

"I am sorry Ye Linlao, I need to appoint you even though you don't have interest in taking the Clan Head seat" said Ye Heng as his eyes became firm and stood up to prepare the procedure for applying the divorce when the marriage was done in Tian tradition.

Later the whole clan was in uproar, knowing the divorce between the Chu Lingshu and Ye Chuang. Ye Chen was also surprised to hear this, never expected there could be a divorce system in the fantasy world. But he kind of understood the Chu Lingshu situation because if a partner cheats it hurts a lot to anyone but that doesn't mean he could leave her for separating him from his family.

"No matter what, you are going to suffer in my hands for what you did to my mother," said Ye Chen with cold eyes, closing his eyes feeling the breakthrough in Quenching body 1st sage- skin refinement who just started his Qi cultivation for a week with this talent there's going to a big storm in the entire Great Yan Dynasty.
