1 A soul

(A/N: As promised, here is the new chapter. For the new readers though, just ignore it and continue reading.)

In the endless void, there was nothing including sound or even light. It was just a quiet, endless, and pitch-black that stretched to infinity. Suddenly, the eerie quiet was disrupted when what seems to be a floating marble materialized.

Suddenly, the floating marble seems to have 'woken' up and looked around in confusion. It turns out that this marble was actually the soul of a person. The soul was confused upon feeling that it was in a place that it didn't recognize then panicked when realization hit it.

The last thing it could remember was that it was sleeping peacefully when it woke up like this. It tried moving but couldn't feel any limbs to move with. The strangest thing, however, was that it feels itself moving forward.

It tried remembering to see if it could collect some clues through its memories and soon found the answer.

Apparently, the soul belonged to a young girl. That girl had a rare illness that didn't really show any symptoms and wouldn't ever be found out if it wouldn't be specifically tested. It didn't give her pain, it didn't give her disabilities. In fact, it allowed her to live like an ordinary person for the most part of her life.

However, on her 16th birthday, her parents came to her crying and talking as if they were saying their final goodbyes to her, telling her how much they love her and that if she wants, they can get anything she wanted to make her happy. This confused her and jokingly asked them why they were acting like she was gonna die but they soon revealed that she really was about to die.

Her parents explained that she was born with a very rare genetic disease that didn't allow her to live past her teens. Anytime, she can suddenly fall asleep only to never wake up.

(A/N: I forgot what this was called but I read it somewhere that there was a disease that didn't allow the holder to live past their teens. I dunno if it showed other symptoms so I just wrote here that it didn't show any other than death... Anyways, this is fantasy, and even if this disease didn't exist, it does in this story.)

This hit her hard and sent her into a wave of depression. She had so many dreams she wanted to achieve when she grew up but suddenly found out that she was never growing up.

Now knowing that she can randomly die anytime in her sleep, she became really scared to even take a nap for a few minutes fearing that she might never wake up. She overdosed herself with coffee and did activities to keep herself from sleeping, including harming herself whenever she felt sleepy.

Her parents tried to stop her and desperately wanted to explain to her that what she was doing will just kill her faster. They didn't want to lose earlier than what they expected. This did eventually calm her down because of her guilt at making her parents worry too much. So instead, she found other ways to distract herself from the fact that she was about to die soon and enjoy her life to the fullest.

She spent a lot of time bonding and making memories with her family and friends but that didn't seem to help because it only made her hurt inside even more. Whenever she remembers these happy memories, she would also get reminded that she would eventually have to leave behind the people she made these memories with.

That was until she discovered anime and buried herself with it. She didn't watch a lot but it was enough to at least distract her away from her depressing thoughts. During the day, she would be bonding with whoever was available and at night, she would be binging her favorite anime. Her favorite at that was Naruto.

This eventually led to her discovering fanfics about reincarnation and transmigration. Strangely, this made her accept her impending death and instead, made her hope that as soon as she dies, she can be like those who got reborn in their favorite shows.

The floating marble watched all of its memories and 'cried'.

"It looks like I'm really dead now.", she sadly said.

Suddenly, a wave of additional information appeared in its memories which allowed it to feel a bit hopeful.

"But it also looks like my wish to be transmigrated can be achieved."

The space she was in was called the Transmigration Space where souls enter to transmigrate. Every now and then, a Transmigration Door will appear and when you step inside, it will transmigrate you into the world behind it. However, these doors don't last long and if you miss them, then you will be stuck here until another one appears which would probably take years.

Suddenly, a door appeared which startled the soul of the girl. She glanced at it and was instantly stunned when she saw it labeled as Naruto. She was about to move when another door suddenly appeared and what took her by surprise was that this door was also labeled Naruto.

She immediately became hesitant about which door to choose and how would it be different with each door.

She was sadly not given enough time when the first door slowly disappeared. The second also started to disappear but she wasn't willing to wait for another door so she 'dashed' towards it and jumped inside.
