Reconciliation
Bai Yue expected a visit from Bai Li An since her cousin had shown an unhealthy dose of interest in her despite meeting for the first time. Admittedly, the circumstances around their meeting were far from ordinary but Bai Yue wasn't supposed to actually know that. As the hours passed by and her cousin didn't show up, she felt puzzled. Perhaps she had judged Bai Li An and her motives for sticking to her like white on rice too quickly.
Although, the possibility for that to be true was quite slim. Bai Li An had seemed far too eager to get Bai Yue back to her courtyard. Most likely to see what her rooms looked like. She would be no doubt disappointed to see most of the jewelry gone.
"Liu'er, are there any news about Bai Li An?" Bai Yue inquired when Liue'er entered the room carrying a few dishes on a tray. She looked troubled. "Are you bringing bad news? Should I be concerned?"
