231 Kosupure Event

Shin took on the role of Yami Yugi, a suggestion from Mira who believed it suited him well. Although initially hesitant about the hairstyle, professional assistance transformed it to resemble Yugi from Yu-Gi-Oh, and Shin found the overall look surprisingly decent.

Donned in Yugi's attire, Shin resembled an adult version of the character. Turning to Mira, who was cosplaying as Bulma from Dragon Ball with turquoise hair matching the character's, Shin asked, "What do you think?"

Mira, impressed by Shin's Yami Yugi costume, remarked, "You look pretty good!" Shin, in turn, complimented Mira's Bulma cosplay and suggested, "Why don't we exercise alone in our room while you're still in the Bulma role?"

Mira blushed slightly upon hearing Shin's suggestion, nodding in agreement. "Alright... as long as you keep yours too," she replied, her gaze fixed on Shin, who was currently cosplaying as Yami Yugi.

Shin chuckled at her response. "Oh, you want me to cosplay as Yami Yugi as well... very naughty," he teased, prompting a blush from Mira as she playfully nudged him.

On August 3, 1994, in Akihabara, on a flat, cleared space, the KiShin Merchandise 'Kosupure' event unfolded. Vendors were set up, the venue adorned with decorations, and the KiShin stage drew a bustling crowd.

Among the attendees were foreigners, a group of American friends chatting animatedly. Dressed as KiShin anime or video game characters, they noticed a Japanese person cosplaying as Misty. Intrigued, they commented, "Guys, look, that guy's costume is Misty."

The group admired the cute Japanese portrayal of Misty, with one of them expressing, "Asians are so damn cute." Their attention then shifted to a Japanese woman confidently wearing Samus Aran's provocative Justin Bailey Suit.

"Ohh..." The foreigners couldn't help but be visibly excited. Throughout the event, participants showcased costumes not only from anime characters but also from renowned KiShin video games like Super Mario, 'The Legend of Zelda,' featuring characters like Link or Zelda, among others.

The most captivating sights were the fit and beautiful Japanese women donning costumes of famous female characters from KiShin's anime or video games.

Some Yakuza members maintained a low profile while showcasing their costumes, unaware that undercover police officers, also disguised as famous anime or video game characters, closely monitored them.

Simultaneously, the TV Asahi team captured the lively event and its numerous participants, contributing to the bustling atmosphere among the thousands in attendance.

Anticipation heightened as many eagerly awaited the appearance of Shinro Suzuki. Participants stayed committed to their role characters while the crowd eagerly waited. Then, a deep Japanese voice announced, "Let's welcome Yami Yugi!"

Surprise rippled through the crowd as the announcer revealed the character name from Yu-Gi-Oh. However, their astonishment turned into cheers when Shinro Suzuki, embodying Yami Yugi with spot-on hair and costume, graced the stage.

"Ohh!!!"

"The Yu-Gi-Oh is here!"

"Ahh!!!"

Shrieks erupted from some girls and women enchanted by Shinro Suzuki's handsome appearance in the Yami Yugi attire.

Entering his early 20s, Shinro Suzuki's face had matured, and consistent exercise sculpted his physique, giving him a more manly appearance. This transformation resonated with many women, who now found Shinro more appealing than ever.

"It's only 11:00 am, and you guys are already turning this place into a frenzy..." Shin shook his head, but instead of dampening the excitement, his words only fueled the crowd's enthusiasm, especially as they listened to him speak and observed him up close on the stage.

As most of the event participants were avid KiShin fans, some couldn't contain their excitement and shouted, "Please marry me!"

Those standing near the enthusiastic individual felt a chill, realizing the person shouting was a man.

Shin, too, experienced a slight chill but brushed it off, only to hear some women shouting, "Please marry me!"

With a wry chuckle, holding the microphone, Shin responded, "I'm already married, sorry to disappoint you..."

"It's alright!" one of the women shouted loudly, eliciting laughter from the crowd.

Shin, unfazed, continued, "Cough, anyway, let us welcome Bulma Briefs!"

Confusion swept through the crowd as Shinro Suzuki introduced a woman walking onto the stage, a stunning figure adorned in Bulma's costume with turquoise hair.

Some men couldn't contain their excitement, letting out roars.

Observing the reactions, Shin addressed the audience, "Let me introduce to you guys, Mira Suzuki, my wife..."

Upon realizing that Shinro Suzuki was presenting his wife, Mira, to everyone, a hint of annoyance tinged the crowd's reactions.

Shin, maintaining a smile, held Mira's hand as she smiled faintly.

"Boo!!!" "This is not real!"

"It should have been me!!!"

Many women immediately voiced their disapproval, prompting laughter from Shin and Mira. Witnessing the couple's amusement, even some men grew annoyed.

Following this, Shin and Mira introduced the competition games where participants could win awards and rewards.

Each competition featured different activities, such as flawlessly portraying characters or showcasing the most beautiful and impressive costumes. Participants' appearances earned additional scores if they suited the character they were cosplaying.

The crowd buzzed with excitement, knowing that winners of each competition could claim a reward of 100,000 yen if they secured first place. TV Asahi captured these moments for viewers watching at home.

Itori Tanaka, along with Shin's brothers, Shiko and Seki, tuned into the 'Kosupure' event program out of curiosity.

Observing the diverse characters being cosplayed in the crowd, they found it somewhat weird and intriguing.

Observing the participants engage in the competition games where judges would score them, the judging panel consisted of special guests from KiShin, all professionals in the fields of fashion and design.

As the competition unfolded, the judges, seasoned veterans in the clothing and fashion industry, experienced a sense of novelty. They found the act of individuals wearing anime or video game character costumes and imitating their hairstyles quite unique. While not an entirely new concept, as the idea of imitating others' clothes, hairstyles, and overall appearance has been present for years, the creativity displayed in this context intrigued them.
