Chapter 74: The Heart of a Warrior

The Mer warriors threw Erica into the cell made of shark bones and locked her in it.

Erica was weak to do anything as everything was a nightmare to her, she had found it hard to believe any of it.

King Obi paced around his throne room looking bitter

"What do you suggest we do your majesty? we can't let them go after what they did, this is the law; it's treason" the chief of the assassins told him

"She has until tomorrow night to make her decision or i won't spare any siren of Riveria" King Obi said.

(Tomorrow at night)

"It's already night, she hasn't said a word" The chief warrior said to him "I know you have a soft spot for her because she reminds you of your sister but this is war time; you cannot let that pull you down, you have come this far for this" he told him

"The princess and the queen are under the shelter of the Oceania's, do everything you must to keep them there and send your best assassins to attack Riveria" King Obi ordered

"Yes, your majesty" he responded bowing down.

The Chief Warrior gathered the Chief assassins and his bravest warriors together.

"As a promised to bring the Riverian's queen down for the death of your ruler, Riveria is yours; the king has protected you enough, he owes you nothing now" King Obi's chief warrior said

"Long live the king; we will forever remember his kindness towards us strays" The chief assassin said with a bow, with that he departs with his squad.

After five hours the assassins had left, one of king Obi's warriors approached the king and told him that Erica is ready to speak with him.

"Your chance is gone" King Obi told her

"You can't defeat the queen without me" she told him

"Tomorrow will be the end of Riveria the queen had worked hard to build" King Obi told her

"The queen doesn't care about the Riverians, her daughter is her weakness; i am the only one that can handle it" she told him.

(PRESENT TIME)

Erica suddenly draws out her weapon and waved it closer to the queen's neck scaring her as it was unexpected.

"You dare point a sword at the queen?" Queen Ola asked looking at her

"No, you are not a queen; you are their prisoner now" Erica said to her.

The Queen was surprise to see King Obi come out of his hiding place accompanied by some of his warriors.

"You traitor" The queen said

"You made me one just like my mother and pretended to not know anything about it" Erica told her

"You found out" The queen said with a chuckle

"You find this funny?" Erica asked her

"Killing me it's a waste of time" The queen told her "There will always be someone like me" she told her

"Who said anything about killing you? your daughter would have to give up the throne to save you" Erica said

"She wouldn't do that, she hates me" The queen smirks

"If she hates you, she wouldn't have lied to everyone about you pretending to know nothing and she wouldn't be covering for you" she told her "She even tried to warn me not to come to you even though she didn't make it clear enough, she is just as smart as you trained her to be but everything in this world has a weakness" Erica told her

"You don't have the heart to do such, i know you; I raised you" Queen Ola told her

Erica looked at her for few minutes " I regret knowing you" she said to her face.

"You are all surrounded your majesty, you can't do anything now or else she kills your daughter while delivering your message" King Obi told her

"Taking me to Marco is the last thing you want to do" Queen Ola told him

"No way in hell i would do that, you are going to stay in a place where you could spend a little time with your half-sister; the dungeon" King Obi said to her smacking his lips.

2days after taking Queen Ola hostage...

Princess Adunni sat down alone thinking deep, all her thoughts were on how to make Riveria better and stop the misunderstanding between the kingdoms

"Should i just give up and build my family with Prince Luca; this is harder than it looks, nothing seems to go my way" she said silently to herself

"That would be a lame thing to do after swearing to the Riverians" Erica interrupted her thoughts

"Erica, how did you get past the guards?" Princess Adunni asked getting up in a jiffy

"You seem afraid of me, your highness" Erica said

"I am not" Princess Adunni quickly responded

"Your heart is not at peace, The queen making enemies everywhere she goes seems to have made you restless as you fear of been ambushed anytime" Erica told her

"Did you meet the queen?" Princess Adunni asked

"King Obi took her hostage because I used you as a bait to her" Erica told her

Princess Adunni angrily swims closer to her with her weapon " How dare you cause more trouble? you believed the one who have been framing us and sold the queen?"

Princess Adunni asked as she stabbed Erica on her shoulders

Erica groaned in pain "I don't believe him; we just had the same scars your mother left on us" Erica told her.

Princess Adunni let loose of her sword as she sobs in bitterness

"Riveria needs a good ruler, they can't keep following your mother blindly; you must think like a queen to build them" Erica told her

"Your mother, did she tell you to stand by me when she met you? you don't have to" Princess Adunni said

"I need to be free from the queen, to do that you have to be the queen and free me" Erica told her

"Is that all?" The princess asked

"Yes, because I found a new family" she responded.

"My mother, will she be, okay?" the princess asked

"You will see your mother alive only if you step up to be the queen, we had to use you as a bait to keep her quiet" Erica told her

"As long as my mother is alive, I am okay" Princess Adunni said.
