Chapter 69: Bittersweet
"We have arrived sir" one of the fisher men said
They climbed out of the boat when they had arrived on land, Lava joined them after his twenty minutes of being in silence.
"Few weeks ago, we made our shelter here when the night had come; we happen to come across something that we suspected was the cause of the scarcity of fishes on the sea" one of the fisher men told Lava as they walk.
"How far is it from here?" Lava asked
"It's already getting late; we can't make it there until tomorrow" the fisher man responded
"Tomorrow then, let's find shelter and somewhere to cook" Lava said
"We have a small hut here where we rest whenever we come at the sea to fish" another fisher man told him
"Good" Lava responded

Amanda was suddenly disturbed by the noise coming outside the royal chamber at midnight, she had been watching over the Riverian's as the princess has ordered before leaving the palace.
She wondered what the noise was all about, it has been quite all these time during the night; The sudden cries and sound of someone swimming right to her chamber made her quickly swim out of her bed made of giant mushrooms, she reached for her pointy weapon and hid beside the water stones used as a door waiting for whatever it is to come in even though her heart wavers.
"Amanda" she heard one of the female Mer warriors call out when close enough to her door
"Isha" she said on recognizing who the warrior was, she opened the door to meet her
"We are under attack, Unknown Assassins' has crossed the boundary of Riveria" Isha told her
"What?" Amanda asked as she couldn't believe her ears
Another younger mermaid warrior had joined Isha too to inform her of the incident.
"They are not just any warriors; they are trained with ancient poison" Isha told her
"They are Vashi's warriors, they must have been brainwashed to join hands with the Marco Kingdom" Amanda said silently
"How did you know they are Vashi's warrior?" the younger one asked
Amanda recalled years ago, the very night the late king died; she came across Vashi on her way to look for the princess, she had come with three of them and that was the first time Vashi spared her life when one of the assassin's tried to end her life because she had seen them. It was a secret she had never shared to anyone.
"I just guessed, no one is better than her on it" she told them " Quickly Isha, ring the giant shell and alert every siren that we have uninvited guests at the sea" she ordered
Isha nods her head and quickly swims out of their sight
"Send a message to the kingdom of Oceania, you must use the underwater passage " she told her. The young mermaid quickly departs leaving Amanda.
Amanda inhaled and exhaled "If i die today, I die as a warrior for the future Queen" she said with a slight smile holding her weapon tight.

Oma sat outside the house because she was unable to sleep, she has been having sleepless night for days now, her mother has been crying all day; Lilian has gone back to Dubai. The world suddenly feels strange to her like its sweetness had left it, how can she now face the reality of it with every of its sweetness suddenly gone?...
"I hope she is okay" Oma said at the thought of Erica.

The assassins were stronger with their poisonous weapon that the Riverian's hardly stand a chance with them.
Amanda saw a glimpse of her own death when two of the assassin's had raised their weapon to strike her at her weakest, she closed her eye and awaits her own death; for few seconds, she felt nothing as she opens her eye to know what was happening.
She saw that a female warrior had taken control of the whole situation and fought alongside of them, she wondered who that could be; when the warrior had turned to face her, she was shocked to the bone
"Erica" she said "You are back" she said again as she suddenly found herself crying in excitement.
