Chapter 42: Royalty
(The Kingdom of Marco)
Queen Ola arrived at the kingdom of Marco with his Mer-Guards who had accompanied her through her journey. she had come putting on her saddest expression for the death of her longtime friend king Ayata, she had come to pay her last respect to him. The King of Oceania and his Prince had been present to pay their last respect to him too.
"Your most royal majesty the queen" Prince Obi said at the sight of the queen
"My precious one, i barely recognized you" The Queen said looking at him
"My father's death must have made a big impact on my health, i can't believe he is just gone" Prince Obi told her
"Let's not make this sad moment sadder, his sudden death was so heartbreaking" The Queen said looking straight at his eye
"Yes, he just died before i could even find the love of my life, now am left with a kingdom to protect" Prince Obi responded while making eye contact with her.
" We should get ready for the rite as the last Royalty has arrived" The Queen said to him
King George and Prince Luca approached them...
"We meet again" Prince Obi said to Prince Luca
"Yes, i am sorry for your loss" Prince Luca said
"It's alright, all is not lost yet" Prince Obi said.
"Words can't express how happy i am to see you again" King George said to the Queen
"You look better than the last time we met" The queen said to him
"I should thank my son for that, ever since his engagement with your princess; he has been smiling from ear to ear" King George said with a smile on his face.
"Am glad to hear that, not many Mer-people can take care of their own" The queen said looking at Prince Obi
"Am so envious of your relationship right now, how i wish my father is still alive" Prince Obi said sadly "If only the right medicine was delivered to him earlier, he probably would have been alive" Prince Obi said again looking back at the Queen
"It's time for you to be strong for your people, they have only you to look up to now" King George told him
"Thank you, King George; i will try my best as their only hope" Prince Obi said with a slight grin.
"Let's go, all the great elders of the seas are present already, the king needs to be sent to the underworld" Prince Luca reminded them.

Oma and Erica sitting at the corridor
"Are you still worried about Lava?" Oma asked her
"I shouldn't be but i find myself doing so, it's already annoying enough that he thinks of me as a monster" Erica said "I should have told him earlier " she added
"Lava will never think of you like that, give him some time; he will come around" Oma silently said to her
"What if i am gone by then?" Erica asked
"Then it is his loss" Oma said to her
"I wish he wouldn't think badly of me" Erica said.
They sat in silence for few seconds
"I have been thinking about this lately, if Vashi is the Queen's half-sister and your mother; shouldn't you be a Royalty too?" Oma asked her
"I don't wish to be one, i never thought of it; Princess Adunni is the rightful heir for the throne" Erica said to her
"You are really a loyal one, they must have enjoyed you being in their shadows" Oma said to her "I don't mean it in a bad way" Oma said again
"It's safer for me and every siren, imagine the sirens finding out i am the daughter of a traitor? I will be doomed for sure" Erica said
"Your life story is so pathetic, I do love it; you wouldn't have met me if you were a princess" Oma teased causing Erica to laugh.
Linda balled her hand in anger, she has been listening to them from the room without them knowing that she had been awake.

(3hours after King Ayata's burial rite had ended) The mourning hour
The queen looked at Prince Obi who had crossed his hand in silence like every other Sirens who was mourning the dead king with their hands crossed on their heart
"Aren't you being too comfortable knowing that your father died by your hands?" The queen asked
"If there is something i earnt from my father, it is making use of every opportunity given to you before you leave to regret it; that's the only thing i will remember him for. He had always cared about you more than me, it's so sad he has to drink a poison from your own hand; his most trusted and respected friend" Prince Obi said to her
"You are a traitor to your own Sirens" The Queen told him
"At least my sins aren't as heavy as yours, a traitor to the whole siren; my father never keeps his mouth quiet, i got to know everything from him" Prince Obi told her
"You are becoming smarter as you grow up, i wish your father was half smart as you; he would probably still be alive" The queen silently whispered to his ear since he was closer to her
"Ah, before i forgot; i did send Erica a message outside the sea, she must be preparing to return back soon. I will be standing right here in open arms to embrace her after she finds out who really took her away from her mother, she wouldn't even batter an eye to fight for what is right, you taught her that right? to fight injustice and end every traitor at spot" Prince Obi said having a devilish smile on his face
