Chapter 38: Gone Too Far For This
(Few minutes after reading the message)
Erica dragged in the body of Vashi into the hole she had dug earlier at her arrival at the river.
She had hidden Vashi's body at the underground building of Mr. Hansel's laboratory where no one could ever find her body, she wanted to give her a proper burial even though she felt she wasn't deserving of it.
"Rest on now Vashi; your reign is over" she said, she looked at the pearl on her hand which have been given to her to save her life back at the fight with Olga...
"You should have come to me earlier; it wouldn't have been this complicated; I might as well have believed you" she said silently as tears gathered her eye.
"This belongs to you" she said putting the pearl into the ground "Traitors are not allowed to be buried but this is all I can do for you" She said again.
She covered Vashi's body with sand after which she wore back the pearl the queen had given her and her dress, Oma had returned it back to her at the hospital as it was the only thing keeping her feet.
"Erica" a familiar voice called out as soon as she was on another path going back home.
"Imelda?" she called looking startled as she wasn't expecting her to be there that moment "How are you here?" she asked
"How are you here too? I was just passing by then I saw you" Imelda told her
"Well, I came for a swim" Erica told her
"You must have missed the feeling of being in the water?" Imelda asked
" Yes, I almost seem human now; I didn't know I would come this far one-day to feel so apart from the sea" she told her with a smile on her face " how did you survive Olga? she took you hostage" Erica asked her
" Yes, she did, but before she could use me as a bait; the guards at the passageway intervened first" Imelda responded
"I bet she didn't see that coming" Erica said with a grin
" How does it feel to be powerful? You know; being the only dangerous being walking in between people" Imelda asked trying to be playful
"I am not powerful the way you think I am" Erica told her
" Are you kidding? Having the ability to detect if someone is lying just by listening to their heartbeat, making someone go crazy with your songs and fighting without the use of weapon is a big deal; I can't even kill a cockroach" Imelda said
Erica laughed before looking straight to her face " I think humans are the most dangerous being; you have technologies, you study too, I couldn't even do anything while I was in the tank" she said to Imelda
" Sorry about that, you must really be mad at us" Imelda said
" I am, but I am trying to be human here to avoid causing trouble for the people that cares about me; people I care about now" Erica told her
" So, you are not going to fight back because of the people you care about?" Imelda asked
" It's not like they know where I am? They can't harm humans because they want me, right?" Erica asked
"Right" Imelda answered having a creepy smile on her face.
" It's already late, Oma must be worried" she said to Imelda
" Okay, see ya; I will come visit her soon" Imelda said
" Okay" Erica answered before she leaves her presence.
Imelda brought out her phone and saved the audio record of her conversation with Erica, she forwarded it to Mr. Hansel before putting it back into her pockets. She has been following Erica around ever since she visited Oma at the hospital...
" I guessed right, she is slowly losing her ability to hear and smell" Imelda said " If I could carry everything out as planned, I would be chief scientist just like my father and fulfill his dream" she said again.

Beneath the underground dungeon
" Your highness, we need to get out of here; you are badly injured" Amanda said sobbing as Princess Adunni's tail was bleeding after been bitten by a shark under the dark sea. They were able to remove the dead sea snake and lock it up on a sunken ship, the snake was the same snake that Prince Obi and Prince Luca had fought during their duel; Prince Obi had exposed the snake dead skin to the open waters causing piranhas to trace its blood to Riveria after staying there for days.
Unknown to them, the piranhas weren't the only thing that had made its way to the sea; there was a shark too which had bitten her four Merguards , she got badly injured while trying to save them.
" We have come so far for this; I can't leave knowing that there is a shark on the loose" Princess Adunni Said to her
" We are going to die here your highness; you are already getting weak" Princess Adunni cried
" Go, save yourself; I will lure the shark to me and kill it, it's been a day now and there haven't been Trace of it; it's probably hiding somewhere" Princess Adunni Said to her
" I am not going anywhere your highness, if we are going to kill it; we will do it together" Amanda said holding her hand.
Princess Adunni smiled at her " We do this for the Sirens of Riveria" she said holding her hand.
" For Riveria" Amanda said.
Mr. Hansel's mansion...
Lava lay down on his bed listening to the music while lost in his own thoughts, images of Erica flashes on his memory to the extent he imagined Erica sitting beside him
" You are here?" He asked Erica's imagined self
" I am in your head" Erica responded
" Why didn't you tell me you did it?" He asked
"I am here just to listen" Erica responded
" Right, you are just in my imagination" he responded " I must have loved you a lot" he said.
