Chapter 57

Elias walked on the ship, his hand sliding on the ship's railing. He had lived on this ship for years, but it always felt unfamiliar and unknown. This was his ship now. He looked up at the helm where Nick was standing. He noticed him and just nodded with a smile. Some of the crew had survived, but Elias would still need to find more.

His back started to sting. He almost forgot about the new scars Luana made a few nights ago. He had to take care of them and he needed to rest. He was tired.

Elias opened the door to his cabin which has been changed since he hasn't been on the ship. All of his stuff was gone, there was just a big bed there. Elias didn't mind it. He sat on the edge of it, pulling off his shirt.

He heard a knock on the door and when he looked over his shoulder Tivon entered. Elias heart jumped when he saw him.

»Am I disturbing you?« Tivon asked carefully.

Elias only nodded off with a smile. Tivon sat down beside him. Their hands were only an inch apart. The silence grew between them. Elias brushed his fingers against his and said. »I'm sorry.« Tivon looked at him. »I promised you I wouldn't kill him and yet...«

Tivon held his hand. »There was no other way.«

Elias laughed. »Guess we're both cursed now.«

»Yeah.« Smiled Tivon.

Tivon glanced at Eliass back. He had new scars, forming a shape of a feather.

»She hurt you again.«

»It's nothing, I managed.« He moved his head away.

Tivon looked at him. »No, I know it's not nothing.« He moved his head to him. »I know it hurts. So let me help.«

Elias closed his eyes and leaned his forehead to his. »Tivon I can't just put all my problems on you.«

»I know, but you can still tell me. I will listen.«

Elias held his hand and opened it. He then turned around, his back faced towards Tivon. He let go of his hand. Tivon slowly pressed his hand against his back. Elias didn't flinch. Tivon stroke his hand gently across the scars. He could still feel him shaking.

»Elias?«

He turned around to see tears in Tivons eyes. »I'm sorry I wasn't there when you needed me.«

He leaned in, into a kiss. Elias pulled him closer, sinking deeper and deeper. He laid him down on the bed, sliding his hands over his arms to his hands. When they parted, they looked at each others eyes. Tivon noticed tears in his eyes. He reached up his hand, wiping them away. Elias held it, kissing it gently.

»I've missed you so much.«

Tivon moved his head up. »Me too.«

He kissed him on his lips. Elias slid his hands to his hips, pulling off Tivons shirt. He glanced down and noticed the scar running across Tivon heart. Tivon chest was steadily going up and down in sync with Eliass breathing. Elias carefully touched his scar, scared by the fact that he wouldn't feel his heart beat. But as soon as he made touch with his skin, he could feel it.

»I'm alive Elias.«

Eliass scared eyes met his. He was alive. He was there with him. He smiled. Elias slowly kissed Tivons scar, moving his lips to his chest, his neck, his jaw and to his ear.

»Don't ever die like that again.« He whispered.

Tivon moved his head towards Eliass lips. »I promise.«

He put his hands on his face and pulled him closer into the kiss. He was home once again.

The night fell down on to two lovers, both of them scared in their own way, allowing themself to heal each other. Safe in the hug of their bodies.

As they spent their night together a thought crossed Tivons mind. A thought that this will soon end, that they would have to part. Tivon quickly shoved that idea away. For now he was here. His warm embrace mixed with his. He was home and that was all that mattered.

The night was coming to an end and the sun was already peaking from the horizon. Tivon opened his eyes, thinking that everything that had happened was just a dream. He turned around.

Tivon wasn't dreaming. Elias was still there, sleeping tightly by his side, his face turned away from him. Tivon brushed his hand over his smooth silky hair, down his neck, gently stroking his back.

A shiver of cold morning air ran through him. He snuggled closer to Elias, closer to the warmth of his body, gently kissing his neck. Tivon closed his eyes, allowing himself to fall back to sleep.

Suddenly Elias turned around, pulling Tivon closer to his chest, hugging his big arms over him. He brushed his lips over his forehead.

»Tivon, you're real. I am not dreaming, am I? You really are alive.«

Tivon smiled and tilted his head upwards, brushing his lips against his. »Yeah, I am.«

Elias hugged him tighter, burying his head into Tivons chest.

»I don't want you to leave.« He sobbed. »I don't know if I can do this on my own.«

Tivon cupped his head, looking at his blue eyes. »Elias you can do it. If there is any person who can, it's you.« He hugged his arms around his neck. »I'll always be thinking of you. And you can still see me whenever you want to.«

»How will I be able to find you?«

Tivon smiled. »The sea will guide you. Just like it did the first time, on that rainy night. The sea will help you find me again.«

»Then stay close to the shore.« He whispered.

»I will.«

He pressed his lips against him, one last time before they would need to go their own ways.

The Rose Sparrow anchored near the island where Cornelis had her humble home. They were standing on a sandy beach, the early morning sun shining on them. Cornelis was watching over the trio, her head covered with Saburs hat. Rea stepped to Tivon, hugging him tightly.

»You are always welcomed home. You can visit me whenever you want. Even if you sneak in through the secret tunnels and wake me up in my sleep.«

Tivon laughed and hugged her tighter. »I'll make sure I'll scare you.«

Rea looked him in the eyes, still holding his arms. »Be careful, Tivon.«

»You too.«

She glanced over her shoulder at Elias, nodding to him. Elias started walking towards Tivon. When Rea looked back at Tivon, he winked at her. »If you'll need help, tell him.«

Rea nodded and moved back, so that Elias could say goodbye to Tivon.

»Are you sure you can't go with me?«

Tivon glanced at Cornelis and back at Elias. »You know I would rather go with you.«

Elias took Tivons hands into his. »What is a Kings Knight without his King near him to protect him?«

Tivon stepped closer. »He is still his Knight.« He smiled. »And this Knight is more than just a soldier to him. He is more than just a person.«

Elias giggled. »In that case.« He put something on Tivons finger. »A promise for us.«

Tivon looked down to a black ring on his finger, he looked over to Elias hand, where a matching one was resting on his finger.

»It's beautiful.«

»You won't forget me, right?« His blue eyes, shone with the morning light, were looking at him so gently.

»I could never forget you.«

Elias leaned his head against him. »Goodbye Tivon.«

»Goodbye.«

It was only then when Tivon realized how hard was it to say those words. He said them so slowly and they fell down so heavily. Tivon had to swallow down his tears. Elias released his hands and smiled one last time before he turned around. He started walking towards Rea. When he reached her they walked towards the boat.

Tivon turned to Cornelis. His legs were heavy and it felt like his heart was going to explode out of his chest. So this was it? This is the last time I'll see him, till who knows when. Tivon stopped. No. He turned around.

»Elias!« He screamed.

He ran to him and just as Elias turned around, he jumped into his arms, kissing him for the last time. Elias picked him up, holding him tightly. In his kiss was the promise of years and the sweetness of waiting for them to see each other again. Elias put him down, hugging him tightly, burying his head into his shoulder. They started tearing up.

»I love you.« Said Elias.

Tivon smiled through the tears. »I love you too.«

Elias cupped his face, kissing him one last time.

Tivon held on to that moment, even after he let go. He held on it when he watched them sail away. He held it on land and at sea. He held that moment at night and day. He held it in the memory of his eyes, his smile. He held on it when he was thinking of him.

He held on to that moment till the day that they saw each other again.

The End

Thank you for reading this story. I really hope you liked it and enjoyed it. And don't worry, it will continue. I'm working on the second part and I hope I'll be able to write it before 2023. In the meanwhile I'll be posting a shitty little story I wrote in 2018 probably. And I'll be posting Tivon and Elias France AU (very excited for that, it's really good).
