Chapter Text

Tivon looked at the posters. The most shocking part was that Elias was drawn without the mask and Tivons hair was cut. And they were wanted. The only good thing was that the kingdom needed them alive.

»We'll need to move in the morning.« Said Elias, taking his coat off. He looked at Rea and her face wet from tears. »What happened to you?«

Rea quickly wiped away her tears. »Nothing.«

Elias just shrugged and threw the coat on the ground.

»This isn't good.« Said Tivon looking at the posters. »And now even Rea is wanted.«

Elias grabbed the edges of his shirt that was ripped where Urien stabbed him and on it was dried blood. »Welcome to my world.« He smiled and took off the shirt, revealing his bandages and a silver lily necklace.

Rea quickly looked away, trying to respect his privacy that Elias didn't seem to care about, but as Rea glanced back, she noticed the necklace. She recognized it in a moment. The necklace passed down to generations. A rush of jealousy rushed through her as she looked away.

Elias put on the new shirt which was almost identical to the one before. It was a sleeveless black sheath shirt with a slight turtle neck. He grabbed his coat off the ground, put it on and sat beside Tivon.

Tivon put down the posters. »We'll need to be more careful now.«

»Well, we are kind of used to it.« Said Elias, he looked at Rea. »It will be a new experience for Rea.«

She didn't say anything. It looked like she was in another world.

»Rea?«

She looked at them. »Yes?«

»Are you okay?« Asked Tivon.

»Yeah.« She smiled and stood up. »I'll just go on a walk for a moment.«

She quickly exited the cave.

»Is this normal for her?«

»When she's on edge she likes to take walks.« Said Tivon.

Elias leaned on the wall of the cave. »Well, it's not everyday you are wanted in a kingdom. She'll get the hang of it.«

Reas heart was racing. She could feel tears coming, but she swallowed them down. She knew exactly what that necklace meant. She knew that Tivon wouldn't just give it to anyone. She stopped, leaned on a tree, trying to catch her breath. She knew that Tivon and her had been just friends. So why am I jealous? Why am I hurt?

Rea knew that she would one day have to marry Tivon. At first she didn't want to. They were friends, she could never. But with time she tried to see Tivon as her future husband and she eventually started to fall in love. She hated it. She knew it was unfair. So why is she so hurt right now?

Rea took a breath. He deserves better than me. He deserves him. She straightened her posture. And you deserve someone too. Just not Tivon. She smiled to herself and turned to get back to Tivon and Elias.

»Where should we move to next?« Asked Rea as they were eating roasted fish that Elias caught in the nearby river.

»We could move towards the Hewe.« Said Tivon. »It's near an abandoned village. We could sleep in one of the houses for the night.«

»We could stop by natural spring lakes on the way there.«

»You want to relax while the whole royal army is looking for us?« Asked Elias, rolling his eyes.

»I didn't mean it like that. Hygiene is still important, but I guess that's not the first priority for a pirate.«

Elias peered through her. »For a fact I care for my hygiene.«

Rea looked from his feet to his head. »Doesn't look like it.«

Elias pointed a finger at her. »Take that back.«

»No.« Smiled Rea.

Tivon laughed as he was watching them argue.

»And now you too.« Said Elias crossing his arms.

Tivon didn't say anything. He just leaned back on his hands and smiled.

He yawned. »I guess I'll go to sleep if you two have that much energy.«

He laid down, using his bag as a pillow. Elias looked at Rea. »You should sleep too.«

Rea smiled and nodded. She laid down and fallen asleep.

Yesterday it was all fun when they argued, thought Tivon as they were making their way to Hewe. They were close to the natural spring lakes. But this is too much. Tivons head hurt. Elias and Rea were talking all the time. Well, if it was just talking Tivon could manage, but they were constantly going at each other.

»Haven't seen you use that bow. Do you even know how to use it?« Mocked Elias.

»I probably know better how to use it than you with your swords.« Said Rea, her voice impudent.

»I doubt that.«

Rea looked over her shoulder. »Then prove it.«

Elias suddenly grabbed one of his knife on his leg and threw it into the tree, right passed Tivons ear. It hit an apple, but it didn't fall down.

»Can you not throw knives near my head!« Screamed Tivon.

Rea let out an impressive hmm. Elias smiled proudly. »Your turn.«

Rea took of her bow and took one arrow. She drew the bow and fired, right at the stem of the apple, causing it to fall off. Before everyone noticed she took one more arrow and shot it through the apple, right by Eliass knife. The apple shot into the tree.

Rea smiled and looked back at Elias. Tivon wasn't really impressed, but Eliass jaw was almost on the floor.

Rea laughed. »Are we speechless, huh pirate?«

»W-well, but do you know how to use a sword.«

They moved on, Rea taking the apple of the tree.

»Why would I need to if my bow is enough?« Said Rea, giving the apple to her horse.

»Can y-you two quiet dow-«

Elias just barely caught him before Tivon would fall off the horse. As Elias held him close to his chest, he could feel Tivons scar burning. Rea stopped her horse.

»Tivon?«

»It's just the p-pain.«

Elias quickly grabbed Tivons bag to find the Hyssopy flowers, as he was rummaging through the bag he shouted to Rea. »Rea, get me some water.«

She quickly reached into her bag for a bottle of water. In the meantime Elias found the flowers. He managed to get some of them out of the bottle, while holding Tivon with the other hand. Rea moved her horse closer and mixed the flowers in the water. Tivon had just enough energy to grab the bottle and drink it.

Elias held him tightly, wiping the blood coming from Tivons left eye.

»Since when do you bleed from your eye?« Asked Rea. Tivon just smiled. »Don't just smile at me. It could be serious.«

Elias looked at Rea. »We should set camp for today.«

She nodded and turn forward. »The spring lakes are just a bit further in the forest.«

Elias looked down at Tivon. »Can you hold on until we get there?«

»You're t-talking like I'm dying. I just n-need to rest.«

Elias smiled and hugged Tivon tightly with one arm. With the other he grabbed the horse reins.

»Do you e-even know how to ride a horse?«

»I'll manage.« He smiled.

He moved the horse and they slowly made their way to the lakes. Tivon managed to fall asleep.

When Tivon woke up Rea and Elias were making the fire. Tivon was covered with Eliass coat. Rea noticed that he woke up.

»Are you feeling better Tivon?«

He nodded. Tivon looked around to see where the lakes were, but he couldn't see any. »Didn't you say that there will be lakes here?«

»There is one down the hill, behind those bushes.« Said Rea pointing behind Tivon.

Tivon took Eliass coat, carefully folded it and put it on the ground. »Would you mind if I go there. It might help me relax my muscles.«

»Oh, you didn't need to ask. Take your time.« Said Rea with a heartwarming smile.

Tivon stood up and went to the lakes.

Elias sat down and sighed.

»Something on your mind pirate?«

»I have a name.« Said Elias sharply.

»I know.«

She sat beside him. »Go with him.«

Elias blushed slightly. »He wanted to go alone.«

Rea laughed. »He is just scared to say, because I'm here.«

»And you don't have a problem with that?« Elias looked at her.

Rea looked up into the night sky. »Not anymore.« She looked at him. »But you'll still need to prove yourself to me, to see if you really deserve him.«

Elias laughed, shaking his head and at the same time blushing even more.

»Go.« She shuddered him in the arm.

Elias went to his feet and headed to where Tivon was going. He stopped and turned around. »I still don't trust you.«

Rea smiled. »And I still don't trust you, pirate.«

Elias smirked and went down hill.

There were countless little lakes, surrounded by rocky hills and trees. Hot steam was coming from them, making the surroundings foggy and warm.

Tivon was in the middle of the lake right down the hill. He was turned away, lost in his own thoughts.

Elias striped off his cloths, let his hair down and joined him in the pleasantly warm water. He swam to him and then stood up as the water was shallow. Tivon looked at him. He didn't say nothing.

Is he gonna just stare at me, or is he gonna say something?, thought Elias as he was looking down at him. Say something.

Tivon looked down at Elias smooth, untouched body, stopping his eyes on the wound.

»If it wasn't for me you wouldn't get it.« He said with a sad tone.

»You could decided not to save me.« Tivon looked up. »You could've believe them to think I knew all along that you were the prince. You could've decided to listen to me and not get back into the castle for the medicine, you could just leave me to die.«

A soft smile ran through his face. »But you didn't.«

Tivon stood up and driven himself closer, moving towards the side of the lake. He reached his hands towards his wound and stroke it gently.

»But your front was clean, barely any scars and now this one.«

»It'll be a great memory.« Laughed Elias.

»A memory of me?« He moved closer, reaching his head to his, sliding his hands to his. »A mare runaway prince that fell in love with a gorgeous murderous pirate?«

»A mare runaway prince?« His lips were almost touching him. »That sounds alright with me.«

Tivon pressed his lips against him, pushing him against the rocky wall. Elias hands slid down his waist. Elias pulled him closer, sinking deeper into his kiss. As they slowly parted Tivon looked at his blue eyes. It seemed to him that they were even brighter that night. Elias cupped his head and smiled.

»Hey, love birds!« Screamed Rea from behind the bushes. »The fire will go out if you don't get back.«

Elias rolled his eyes. »I'm seriously gonna push her off that horse.«

Tivon laughed and kissed him again. Then he quickly turned around and swam back to where he left his clothes.

You make me weak Tivon. Elias smiled. But at the same time, you're making me a better person.

»Are you coming?« Shouted Tivon, while putting on clothes.

»Yeah, I am.« Said Elias and swam out of the warm water into the cold night.
