Octavinelle Trio

It was just as she had predicted, unfortunately. The next person to overblot was not Kalim, but his vice-dorm leader, Jamil. It didn't matter if the previous overblots were all dorm leaders, what matter more importantly was the cause of their overblot.

The use of an abundance of mana and negative emotions.

Even if Kalim were to use too much magic, he didn't display a moment of negativity in him. He wasn't stressed by his dorm's position, his grades, or his duties as a dorm leader. Even if there were, he would probably rarely display it and release those emotions through the parties he throw in the dorm for everyone. That's why she didn't believe that Kalim would be the next to overblot, but Jamil who supervise over the parties and manage the majority of the duties and classes.

"So, it was him..."

Lotus didn't need to look up to know that A-Cong had returned from his outing and asked, "So, what are you going to do?"

Hei Hui frowned, "We've already placed a barrier in certain areas of the dorm. With this, no one can enter the dorm or leave the dorm unless they were the headmaster."

"And?"

Thoughts continued to circle in Hei Hui's mind as she calmly tried to think things through. A-Cong, unable to take her attitude, spoke with a huff of dismay, "We are unable to interfere with the matters of the students as the rules go. What more can we do?"

"There's one thing that you still didn't accomplish..." Lotus huffed back with a scowl and pointed to the hypnotized students.

"That would be the child's mind control unique magic, Snake Whisperer." A-Cong scowled, "What of it?"

"A-Cong..." Hei Hui sighed in disappointment, "She is correct."

"What?"

The woman continued, "During the mind control, the damage they took was not on their bodies but on their minds."

"No." Lotus shook her head and clarified with a scowl of dismay to them, "I can see that their minds aren't seriously affected by the unique magic's affect. However, are you refusing to see the cause of the situation as one of the students you are to protect?"

Shocked, A-Cong's eyes widen in bewilderment. How could he have forgotten?!

Sadly and a little aggrieved by the situation that had occurred in the dorm, Hei Hui nodded her head in agreement, "That is correct. A-Cong, we were so focused on the situation that we forgot to put into account that the cause of the situation was an overblot from their vice-dorm leader. A student under our care in this dorm. Even if we put up an argument that the fault lies with Jamil Viper, we cannot forget that he is a student and any damage he receives from the situation is also our responsibility..."

"B-But, how are we going to make up for this?" A-Cong looked to them in disbelief.

"Is this really the best time to be talking about responsibility or make up?" Lotus frowned, "First, we have to find a way to snap him out of it, or he may start to hurt the other students as well."

"Do you think we did not think of that?" A-Cong frowned in reluctance, "Was our barrier nothing to you?"

"The barrier is protecting the rest of the school and parts of the dorm." Lotus said easily, "It has nothing to do with the lives of the students in an overblot student's hands. Your responsibility should be the students, not the dorm, am I wrong?"

What followed her words was a moment of awkward silence. Hei Hui and A-Cong had nothing to respond with. It was true, that their priority should be with the students and not the structure of the dorm. With the dorm can be rebuilt and such, the students all only have one life and, while new students may come in, those individual students aren't the previous students. They can never replace the students in anyway, but number. However, this world's schools are not like theirs back in their world. The schools treasure each and every students regardless of background or gender. They treasure each of their personality and traits that can not be replaced by others.

With this in mind, Hei Hui was frantically thinking of what to do.

"What of the dorm leader and their guests?"

The two guardians looked to Lotus in surprise as she continued, "I am from the old Ramshackle dorm, whose building still stands outside to this day. My supervisor told me that he would be staying over at Scarabia's dorm for a while to help with the study effort and such. He should still be here with a small demonic cat called Grim. Though Grim is a demonic cat, it would seem that he has no recollection of the past and has the mindset of a teenage child. However, the two have helped overcome the overblot of the other dorm leaders and saved them. You should try checking to see if they are amongst the students. If not, there's a good chance that they could've been thrown out of the dorm, since Jamil has never been happy around Kalim before."

"Is that the Vice-Dorm leader?!"

Lotus looked back to see that Raaji had looked over them into the pool of water without giving a heads up. However, they didn't really mind, since they knew he had gotten bored and left the hut not too long ago.

Hearing her words, the two looked to her in bewilderment. Immediately, Hei Hui caused another small ripple on the surface with a finger and saw that the scene had shifted into the dark night over the desert.

"There's the dorm leader!" Raaji spoke up in confusion, "Shouldn't he be in the dorm? What's going on?!"

"Quiet down." Lotus groaned in pain from his shouting, "Jamil finally overblotted as we feared. It would seem that he didn't take my warning seriously..."

"Th-Then..." Her words from before echoed in his head as he bit his lower lip nervously, "He really was that stressed, then... Then, could the dorm leader have escaped with the guest?"

In the darkness of the desert, there was Kalim bemoaning the fact that he was betrayed by his childhood friend and vice-dorm leader, Jamil, while Yuu and Grim got up from the sands helping out the other three figures. To her surprise, it was the dorm leader of Octavinelle and the eel twins!

She thought curiously in confusion, "Strange? I'm surprised that they didn't get hypnotized along with the other students, especially Azul of all people."

"Azul? As in the dorm leader of Octavinelle, Azul Ashengrotto?" Raaji looked to her in bewilderment, "What are they doing here?"

"Why else would they be here?" Lotus shrugged, "I've heard from some seniors that the dorm leader of Octavinelle and your vice-dorm leader attends some of the same classes together. How could they not have met? With how well your vice-dorm leader can hide his purpose and personality, it would be weirder if this doesn't grab Azul's interest. After all, Jamil does have a lot of talent that he chooses to hide instead and Azul is a scout for people with talent. But, I'm curious on how they know to come here at this time?"

"The guest and that strange cat were accused of stealing and took Kalim Al-Asim's magic carpet to fly out of the dorm to escape a couple days ago." Hei Hui responded without hesitation.

"Ah, the magic carpet." Lotus nodded her head upon understanding, "That makes a lot more sense..."

The magic carpet is, as its name applies, a carpet imbued with magic. Other than having a personality of its own and human-like traits, such as dancing or its fear of fire, it's main feature is its flight ability. Capable of flying at any altitudes in the sky and the speed at which it flies, it is one of the main attractions to product and costed millions to purchase one. It was said that the number of people that has one could be counted on a hand and the Al-Asim family was said to have one in their treasury. With how bright and cheery Kalim is, it wouldn't be a surprise if his family gave him a bunch of money and treasures so he could get by school with Jamil.

Handing him the magic carpet amongst the money and treasures of all things should be within expectations. However, she forgot to take this into consideration. After all, he is the heir of his family's company. How could she have neglected that valuable piece of consideration?

However, even with the magic carpet, they would need to learn how to use the carpet to fly properly. With this in mind, she can up with a thought, "It must be that the two couldn't fly the magic carpet properly and ended up crashing into Octavinelle's dorm."

"But, why are the three of them still around?" Raaji spoke up in confusion, "I thought they'd want to go home and spend the holiday with family just like everyone else?"

"They can't." Lotus answered, "They said that there are large icebergs around this time of year and swimming around them could be troublesome. So, they stay in school during the winter break."
