2 Chapter 2

"It's supposed to be here, right?"

A young man was standing outside of the fenced forest of the university. He scanned the area and the surroundings. No one can be seen loitering around. This area is said to be forbidden, but here he is, standing right in front of it's entrance.

The supplementary class in which he belongs to is supposed to be held here, but he can't seem to understand why they chose this small forest as their teaching area. But who is he to complain, he thought.

With that in mind, he shrugged his shoulders and pushed the fence gate open. Cold air came gushing from the forest, blowing locks of his hair sway from his forehead.

It was creepy.

He took a step in and continued following the visible trail. The person in charge of him yesterday told him to just keep on walking and he'll reach the destination in no time, so, he walked nonstop.

Seconds passed when he started feeling uncomfortable. He started tilting his head from left to right, and back to front.

There was no one, yet it feels as if someone was watching him.

What he didn't notice, however, is that one man on top of one of the nearest trees, watching his every step. He was stationed at the entrance of the forest, his job is to shoo any trespassers appearing here away, but he didn't make a move after seeing that certain student enter.

What does he need in this forest? Is he lost, perhaps? It was fun watching him, so he didn't make a move. Instead, he just quietly followed the student, jumping from one tree to another.

The student who was being watched was completely oblivious. He just has one thing in mind; to find the room of his supplementary class which was suspiciously held in this eerie forest. But he can say that this school is really extraordinary. Where can you find another school that houses a forest? Although their forest is not that wide, it was still a forest.

The place was quiet. Only the rustling of the leaves could be heard. It was relaxing but also alarming.

What if there was some kind of monster hidden inside? What would he do then?

Our innocent student shivered on that thought. He shook his head to clear all useless thoughts and continued on walking. He turned to look back but can no longer see the entrance. He then sighed and scratched his head.

He was almost in the middle of the forest when he noticed the small structure built not far away. It looked like a room…

He immediately smiled and fastened his pace. He was excited to reach his room, his energy coming back, but was stopped by the figure ahead. His steps slowed one by one until he finally halted. He was a meter away from that person.

He was tall. With a cigarette dangling on his lips, he looked at him with his lazy eyes. Then he raised his hand and took the cigarette away from his mouth, releasing smoke as he spoke.

"What were you doing, Jill?" the person said.

'Is he talking to me?' Our innocent student didn't know what to do. Just when he was about to open his lips and talk, something fell from behind. He turned his head involuntarily, only to see someone standing below a tree. It looks like he had just jumped down.

That person had a playful smile plastered on his face as he shrugged his shoulders and leaned on the tree trunk.

"I was watching the entrance." He answered.

"And? If you were, then how did this student end up here?" the person in front spoke in return.

Our student who was stuck in the middle didn't know what to do. He just kept looking back and forth, following their conversation.

"Well, he didn't look suspicious." The man behind replied.

There was a second of silence. No one dared to speak, everyone just stared at each other quietly. The silence would've strayed longer if not only for the person who came out of the room. It was another man.

He had big round eyes and thin lips and was shorter than our student by a head. He stopped on his tracks upon seeing what's happening outside before raising his brow as he stared at our innocent student.

"Uh… who is this?" he asked.

No one answered.

Finally, our main character found the chance to speak. He flashed him his beautiful smile, tilting his head to the side with beaming eyes.

"Hi! I'm here for my class." He answered.

The three people around him glanced at each another, communicating with just the help of their eyes. Everyone understood the situation immediately. The one smoking earlier threw the cigarette on the ground. He extinguished the cigarette by stepping on it before turning to enter the room.

The one standing at the door gave way, while our student remained stationary. Does that mean he can finally enter?

"What are you waiting for?" someone spoke from behind.

The one who came from above the tree stood behind him, his shadow covering him entirely. He never felt short in his life, but in front of this person, his height seemed like a joke.

He nodded his head and started walking towards the door, the man following closely behind him making him feel conscious. As soon as he stepped inside, he scanned the room.

The room was dark. The only source of light was the sunlight coming through the open windows. He then directed his eyes on the chairs. It wasn't your normal chair for classes.

Why would they use couches for class? His brows furrowed. He thought he entered the wrong room.

"Welcome to Section 0. Welcome to the Pawns." The man behind him lazily stated as he headed for a vacant seat in the couch.

Our student was filled with confusion, performing a head count. Everyone in the room, including himself, counts less than ten. They are only seven, particularly. What kind of class is this to have just this many students participating? But one thing he noticed, everyone inside the room was male. And everyone was exceptionally good looking, but the aura they give is definitely not welcoming.

He stood there in front, frozen still.

A second had passed, but no one seemed to notice him. Or its much better to say that they noticed him but just chose to completely ignore him. Our student felt awkward. It felt as if he didn't belong here... maybe he should just leave.

But before he could even take a single step away, someone's arm suddenly wrapped around his shoulders. He tilted his head to look at that person and saw another man… if not only for the small hairs visible on his chin, he would've already mistaken him as a woman.

"Hey, brats! Why don't you welcome this new classmate of yours?" the way he said those words were harsh, but he didn't seem to care.

The students lying on the couches turned to look at him.

He gave them a nervous smile.

"What's there to welcome about? Should I say, Welcome to hell?" one of them spoke. It was a man with long hair. Even with his long hair tied into a knot, he was still extremely manly. The aura he gives is that of a Casanova and his eyes were piercing.

"Don't be like that…" the person with big round eyes said. He turned his head towards our student and gave him a cheeky smile. "Hi there! The name's Aoi and this man is Reis. Let's get along well."

Aoi was the first to greet him so our student felt extremely grateful towards him. He returned his smile and introduced himself. "You can call me Chess."

"Oh… nice name." the person who owns the arm around his shoulder remarked. He just smiled in return.

"By the way, I will be your professor in this class. Those brats sitting there will be your classmates. You already know the two of them, but I will repeat it again."

This person is a professor? It wasn't even obvious...

"The one with the big round eyes is Aoi. The one next to him, the person with long hair, is Reis. I believe you encountered two people on your way here. The one who came from the tree is Jill and the one who was smoking outside is Kane. Do you see that man?" the professor pointed his finger towards the person sitting in the dark corner of the room and in front of a computer. "That's Cale. And lastly, that man sleeping on the couch is Syn."

He once again took the liberty to examine them one by one.

Everyone looked aloof. Everyone looked nothing like a student. But from what he remembered, that man in the big room the other day clearly stated that this was a supplementary class. If so, then…

"What is our topic for today?" he asked the professor beside him.

For a second, he felt like the already quiet room became even more quiet. It was like that not until a laughter broke the silence. That laughter was soon followed by multiple chuckles.

He glanced at the one who laughed.

It was Jill.

What was funny? Is there anything funny with what he said? Our student was confused. Jill finished his laughter, hugging his tummy, before finally speaking.

"You wanna know what the topic for today is?" he asked, half laughing. Our student slowly nodded.

Jill widened his grin because of that. This kid is completely clueless… this will be fun, he thought.

He then stood from his seat and started approaching our student in front. He leaned against the table and lifted his hand to cover his lips, whispering some words which made our student froze..

"Today, we'll be learning how to kill."
