Twilight in Obsidian

“Please take me with you,” the woman whispered. Her voice was dry and hoarse, her body trembled like a leaf on an unsettled wave. Was it because of the crime she had just committed, or was it because of the aura the man before her gave off? She must be sick, both in and out of the head. Everything in her said not to ask for help, or at least not to ask him for help, nevertheless, here she was bowing her head down before him. “Now, why would I do that?” His dark, airy voice filled her ears. His voice sent shivers down her spine, making her freeze in her spot. Her head sank to the floor, unmoving. “I do anything from cleaning to washing, and cooking,” she said, muttering her words, timidly. The man hunched down to her size and uttered, his breath tickling her neck. “Have you met me before?” “No, but I can—” She began to say, as if he were contemplating her request but was quickly interrupted. “Don't be so quick to sell yourself to death.” Passing through her, he left her to crumble on the ground. °∆° "Did you think I would let you go after I found you? Do you know how long I have waited for this moment?” His voice deepened with each word that fell off his lips. The woman stepped back, not wanting to get close to this terrifying man. “I am being truthful, Your Highness. I don't know you, Your Majesty, our families haven't met for any reason. So please let me go,” she whispered. Her body touched the wall. Now she was stuck between the wall and the terrifying man. “Please, My Lord, I don't know what you are talking about,” She whimpered. He placed his strong hands on her hip, giving it a light squeeze as he pulled her closer to his chest. He whispered into her ears, “I missed you so much, it's been a long while, My love” He placed his head on hers °∆° R18 PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BOOK COVER ISN'T MINE, IT WAS FOUND AND REDESIGNED BY ME. Sephtis Realization

Editing in Progress…

~Chapter 60~

Dyce furrowed his eyes as he looked at the perplexed looking God. "I am sorry. Did you just say my sister visits Sephtis in his bedroom?"

"Indeed, my lord"

"And Sephtis doesn't kick her out?"

"Not to my knowledge" Zahohr's brows arched in annoyance. He was going to go easy of him with the nightmare, but with this newfound information… He doubted the need to go easy on him.

"I honestly believe the lord has officially retired for the day," Dyce informed.

"Oh, do not worry about it. Sephtis will come down on his own, without being called," He answered as he took a seat.

Dyce, with a confused look, only nodded at his words. "What should I get you, while you wait?"

"Any book will suffice"

"I understand"

Sephtis room.

Sephtis had laid down to sleep as he seemed eager to see his mate. He didn't mind it if the dream was a repeat of the previous ones. Or if it was an entirely new dream of them both. He just wanted to see her. As Diysus closed his eyes, he felt his consciousness slowly slipping away.

Resting against a marigold tree, Sephtis witnessed the sky unfold its vivid blue shade and adorned with swirling, fluffy clouds.

The gentle breeze and the sweet scent of the silk-floss flower filled his sensitive nostrils. He watched and listened to the birds sit on the tree branch as they tweeted their songs.

He felt a weight on his legs. As he looked down, he saw his beautiful mate sleeping on his legs. Instinctively, he raised his fingers and trailed them softly against her black locks.

It was never his plan to wake her from his slumber, but she stirred herself to consciousness. Her beautiful amethyst eyes fluttered opened as she gave a little yawn. He said nothing as he watched her every move. Noting every little thing she did as she tried to regain her consciousness.

Fully awake now, she realized he was watching her. Her face turned beetroot red as she buried her head in his chest. An amused chuckle played from his throat.

"Don't be shy," He said.

"I am not shy." her response came completely immediately as she if she knew he was going to ask her. Realizing how unbelievable she sounded, she cleared her throat and tried again.

"I am not shy, I am just embarrassed that you were watching me"

"Should I not?" he asked, his icy blue eyes stared in amusement.

"Well—" she began saying, as she looked away from him. He lifted his fingers as he turned her face back to him.

"If I don't watch you… Who should I watch?" He questioned, "Hmm? Do you have anyone in mind for me?"

Her brows furrowed, and an annoyed pout played on her lips. "No, I don't have anyone in mind… and neither should you," she replied, looking very serious. But to him, she looked awfully cute with the angry face and pout.

"Of course I don't. I can't stand other women. And besides, I don't love another person as I do you… So there is no one for me to watch," he professed.

His shameless confession had her red in the face. She lifted her face up and kissed him on the lips. Which he happily obligated to with no hesitation. "That's good," she answered after she pulled away from the kiss.

"And I love you," She added, looking away from him, with red face.

He, yet again, turned her face back to him. "I would love it if you said it looking directly into my eyes."

And without hesitation, she repeated her words, this time not shying away as she stared into his eyes, "I love you too". Sephtis leaned in and gave her a light kiss on the forehead, which she easily sank into.

They soon stood from their sitting position and walked hand in hand through the fruitful land of Daemarral. The warmth of her touch sent comforting radiation through Sephtis, feeling him with utter peace and contentment.

As they walked, they spoke to each other. Some ending with Sephtis vibration laughter and most ending with her sweet laughs. Anytime she laughed, Sephtis would take the pleasure of watching her as she did.

Sephtis plucked a silk floss flower and tucked it behind her ear, causing her to blush and laugh. She playfully pushed him, and he caught her in his arms, spinning her around with joy.

As her feet barely touched the ground, she wrapped her arm around his neck as she kissed him. He responded to her sweet lips.

They continued their little walk till she got tired and suggested they laid back down again. They laid on the grass as they watched the clouds move around. Sephtis traced patterns on her hands as he listened to her words.

He closed his eyes, basking in the complete warmth of her body heat. But as he closed his eyes, that warmth slowly began fading. The vibrant colors of the land began disappearing. The singing birds turned into the sounds of crows.

The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and decayed smell.

His eyes flew open to find the sun and clouds had gone, and in its place was the mass of dark sky. The once soft grass turned dried and cracked beneath them.

Them?

He immediately whipped to his side to see his mate still there. On a normal occasion, she would have disappeared after telling him to find her, and that she was still waiting. Instead, she stood there looking confused and frightened.

It was then, he knew her spirit-soul did not plan for this. Something beyond his or her power was happening. He looked up at the black sky and, in a flash, a pair of familiar red eyes flashed through it with a creepy smile.

His mate had a firm but fearful grip on Sephtis as she pointed towards the shadowy figures to emerge from nothing as it began approaching them.

Suddenly, she was pulled away from him by the shadowed hands as he tried to reach for her. But unpleasantly found himself shackled by heavy iron chains.

The scene soon drastically changed, and now it looked as though they were in Aefiagarth

In front of him, bathed in greenish light, was his mate, laying on the cold stone floor, surrounded by the shadowy figure.

The figures began moving. It started off slowly as seconds flowed into minutes. The intensity began increasing till it looked like they were aggressively matching. Each thud had his mate shiver with fright. She eagerly looked around, wishfully hoping to find him.

But it completely seemed as if he was the only one that could see her and she couldn't. Sephtis struggled with the chains as he tried his very best to get it off him.

But to no avail.

It held him tight and in place. It was as if the more he struggled, the harder it became to set free.

The shadowy figure hands began morphing into sharp weapons and whips. Sephtis eyes widened as he realized what they were about to do to his lover.

Sephtis yelled, his hard voice echoing off the stone walls, but his shouts did nothing to stop the torture inflicted on his lover. He could see the pain in her eyes, as even amidst heavy torture, she still eagerly looked around for him, with hopes he would come to her aid.

But he couldn't. At the very moment, he was utterly powerless.

The shadows taunted him with their laughter. They whispered into his ears, reminding him of how pathetic and helpless he was. As he couldn't even break free from the flimsy chains.

He was truly pathetic, as he couldn't even save the one he loved the most.

Sephtis began thrashing against the chains, his wrists bleeding from the effort, but it only tightened some more, digging deep into his flesh.

With no choice, Sephtis watched in horror as his mate's strength waned. With each torture, more life drained from her, as he could see her spirit-soul dimming.

Tears streamed from his face as he begged for mercy from the only one who could stop this nightmare.

"Zahohr Please" He pleaded weakly. But all he got was his red eyes and twisted smile.

In the final, agonizing moments, his mate's eyes suddenly met his. She could now see him. Her eyes widen at the sight of his bleeding body tied down with chains.

Her eyes contrasted and softened. Softly purple eyes filled with a mixture of love and sorrow, a silent farewell. With a final, heart-wrenching smile, her body went limp. And bright floating light came out from her body.

Dead.

His mate had died in front of him.
