Brian sighed contentedly and flexed his feet. “Knowing for sure you like either one. I think it gives you a bit of an identity. I don’t know.”
“You mean like a sense of belonging?”
“Suppose.”
“You always belonged here, Bri. You’ll always belong to me.” He ran his fingers gently through a mop of thick black silk, so much like his own yet completely Brian.
His brother smirked, posturing again. “I know,” he said eventually. “What I mean is, if you’re gay or whatever. It’s like you’ve got this culture. Or community. I don’t know. When you’re bi, it’s like you don’t fit into the straight world and you don’t fit into the gay world. It’s confusing. Does it make sense?”
