Chapter 3

It occurred to me now that I should have known Emmett would come back. He’d always been the quiet, talented boy who loved volunteering at the primary school. Emmett as a music teacher was a perfect fit for the kid I once knew.

And now it seemed like I’d get a chance to know the man he’d become.

“As I said at the beginning, parent involvement is key to the success of the show.” Emmett’s melodic voice pulled me away from my musings. “Our budget isn’t that big, and we couldn’t do it without help. So now’s the time I ask for that help. If any of you can give your time and talents to the show, it would be so very appreciated. We need help with costumes and sets, mostly. But if there’s anything you think you can contribute, please sign up after the meeting. Really, it’s so very appreciated.”
