Home, Sweet Home

MC's POV

[Time Skip: 2010, New York]

"Ring!"

Midway through dinner at my penthouse in New York, my phone went off with a piercing ring. Setting down my utensils, I snatched up the phone and answered in a measured tone.

"Hello?"

"Sir, Mikael has been sighted in Mystic Falls. What are your orders?"

It's about time.

"Tell the team to pull out of Mystic Falls immediately. It's about time I talked with my father-in-law." Ending the call, I readied myself to depart for Mystic Falls.

It's time to go back to where it all began.

...

Third-person POV

"Pop!"

Before Lockwood's Mansion, the environment surrounding the area began to warp and ripple for a few moments. Suddenly, a swirl of smoke or black mist appeared with a silent pop, and from within the mist stepped a tall, dark-haired figure.

MC's POV

Ah. Crap. Has it already started?

Gazing at the army of Hybrids standing at the entrance. With a quick incantation, I erased my scent and sound, ensuring no one noticed me as I drew closer.

Relief washed over me when I saw that everything was proceeding as shown in the show. Mikael was holding "Elena" hostage, taunting Klaus to face him outside. I watched from the shadows, ready to apparate out of there once the situation was resolved.

But then everything went horribly wrong.

With a swift movement, Mikael plunged his switchblade into "Elena's" heart. Gasping in pain and collapsing on the ground, "Dead."

Klaus, still in shock, looked up at Mikael with tears in his eyes. I could see rage building inside him as he processed what had just happened. Without hesitation, Damon came speeding towards Klaus with a white oak stake. However, Stefan appeared earlier than he was supposed to and tackled him to the ground. In the chaos, "Elena" was revealed to be Katherine, who threw two vervain-wolfsbane grenades at the Hybrids, distracting Mikael from noticing the white oak stake lying on the floor but Klaus noticed.

In a swift move, he grabbed the stake from the ground and lunged towards Mikael, aiming to drive it through his heart. At the last moment, Mikael grabbed hold of Klaus's wrist preventing him from pushing the stake down further.

Klaus struggled to push the stake down, but with a snap, Mikael broke his wrist. Klaus dropped the stake, screaming in agony.

"AH!"

"Pathetic," Mikael sneered, before ruthlessly bitch-slapping Klaus, sending him flying. As Klaus tried to get up, Mikael began attacking him, pummeling him like a bully beating up a helpless kid.

The sight of Klaus being battered and helpless made Stefan throw Damon at Mikael, hoping to stop him. But Mikael dodged Damon and continued assaulting Klaus, while Damon tackled Stefan to prevent him from intervening.

Chaos erupted in the courtyard.

"What a shitshow." Muttering to myself, I felt my fits clenched, contemplating whether I should interfere. But as I saw Mikael about to drive the stake through Klaus's heart, I knew I had to act before everything went awry.

With a sharp flick of my wand, I shouted,

"Expelliarmus!" The white oak stake shot out of Mikael's hand, hurtling towards me with dangerous speed.

The air crackled with tension as everyone froze, their eyes locked on the stake's trajectory. And in that exact moment, I caught it firmly in my hands, my disillusionment spell giving way as the air around me shimmered and revealed a striking green and black suit that hugged every curve of my body, the stake gleaming in my outstretched hand.

As every eye turned towards me, my lips contorted into a crooked, almost mocking smile, and a hint of malice gleamed in my eyes. My voice cut through the sudden silence like a knife.

"Ah, it's good to be back," I said, my words dripping with a dark humor that seemed to unsettle the onlookers as I winked at the stunned Mikael.

"Right, Dad?"
