Karmic Laws Come into Action
After I separated from Bridget it didn't take long for me to feel the call of the Karmic Laws.
Wow how I hate it when that happens.
The intensity of the call was still low, but it meant that something important was going to happen soon.
In a matter of a few hours news arrived that I can only classify as idiotic, the Hogwarts Board of Governors thought it sensible to temporarily remove the Headmaster from his position due to his inability to deal with the problem.
They pulled today's most powerful wizard out of the middle of a crisis...
I don't know the Headmaster well enough to know how he was dealing with the problem, but taking away probably the most qualified sorcerer to deal with any kind of problem from the University seemed just stupid to me.
Without someone to oversee the castle, tensions only increased. The teachers were tense, the students were tense, the only person who wasn't tense was the little prince.
It was Malfoy Senior who articulated the Governors' move to remove Dumbledore from the castle.
How someone could be so stupid still amazes me.
In reality, not so much, politics is one of the cancers that infests the universe and Malfoy Sr. was playing that game at the moment.
He seemed to have a mission against Dumbledore, which I completely understand since he was a Deatheater who escaped with the excuse that he was under the Imperius Curse. And Dumbledore was the leader of the Order of the Phoenix who served as resistance against them.
Nothing like having a drunk uncle who likes to monologue while beating you. From what I remember between the punches and kicks Lucius spent half of his entire fortune to stay out of Azkaban and yet he is the richest man in the British magical world.
Meanwhile, Nott lost basically everything using the same strategy.
The Karmic Laws seemed to want me not to remain still for any moment inside the Castle and as responding to requests is easier than resisting the call, I started walking around the castle looking for what they wanted to tell me.
It took a few days until I found it.
In one of the castle corridors written in red paint simulating blood:
'HER SKELETON WILL LIE IN THE CHAMBER FOREVER'.
Well… F*ck.
How I hate Karmic Laws.
Honestly... I've just been put on the hunt for a secret chamber and a monster, while also being on a rescue mission to rescue whoever was taken into the chamber.
I walked around the castle again looking for new clues.
I was about to walk through the entire castle when I felt compelled to pass in front of the women's bathroom on the second floor.
I put my hand to my temples.
I was about to swear again when I heard two male voices coming from inside the bathroom.
"You said you knew where the Chamber of Secrets was, now that we're here you're going to say you don't know how to open it like you boasted so many times?" – shouted the first one.
"It is not safe to open the Chamber, young man, I know it is an unbelievable loss for you, but we cannot take that risk." – argued the second.
How I wanted to forget the owners of both voices.
I entered the women's bathroom only to see Ronald 'The Annoyance' Weasley and Gilderoy 'Lier' Lockhart confronting each other.
Lockhart is just a joke that hasn't been debunked yet and I honestly don't know how it hasn't happened yet.
The counterpart in front of me is unbearable.
Ronald, sixth son of the Weasley family, with five notable older brothers, two Quidditch stars, a Prefect and twins, are geniuses when it comes to pranks.
I don't know if they never taught him anything or if they taught him too much, but Ronald's favorite sport is pestering members of Slytherin.
I really agree with certain targets of his, like our 'dear' little prince. But he ends up generalizing the entire Slytherin house.
All I did in my life was get beaten, but even that didn't save me from being his target.
"What's going on here?" – I asked, interrupting their fight.
Ronald turned to me and if looks could kill I would have fallen hard at that moment.
"Great, another snake." – he shouted excitedly.
One more?
The airhead seems to have deciphered that the monster is a snake.
I felt my blood boil at that moment. Great, now even he knows more than me.
Another very necessary point that needs to be mentioned is that The Annoyance is simply the worst student in his year. They have Granger pulling the quality of the notes up and him pulling the quality of the notes down.
I was awakened from my thoughts by the appearance of a teenager around thirteen or fourteen years old. Only she was a ghost.
"Who are you?" – she asked curiously.
"Nice to meet you, Kai Mao." – I said, bowing slightly.
The ghost laughed and flew out of the bathroom.
"What are you doing Myrtle?" – asked Weasley.
The girl turned around and landed next to his shoulder.
"Something tells me he's going to solve your problem." – she said before laughing and flying directly into one of the toilets.
She probably has a few screws loose, but what ghost doesn't she...
But the way she spoke probably the Karmic Laws are also influencing her as she was a disembodied spirit and was more susceptible to this type of influence.
"Come back here MYRTLE and explain yourself. He is a snake, he could have been the one who opened the chamber of secrets." – shouted Ronald, suspicious of me.
Meanwhile Lockhart took advantage of our distraction to try to escape.
He stole the wand from Weasley's hand and fired a spell at him.
What he didn't count on was that Weasley would dodge it and the spell would hit the mirror and bounce it back.
Lockhart flew towards the wall, hitting his head and becoming unconscious.
"Okay, one less idiot." – I murmured in relief.
