Trying To Take My Mask Off

My dream came true but I'm not happy. I became a legend in the entertainment world, and everybody knows me. But I sacrificed too much to stand here. I don't even know myself anymore. If you ask me what my biggest regrets are. It is that I don't know myself anymore, that I don't feel what I used to feel, that I don't know what makes me happy, that I'm now almost like a robot. It would be nice if I could change myself. If I could just turn back the time or go to another world, it doesn't matter what, if I could do it I would. And then I would change myself and search for what I want and become a person again. The girl smiled and said: "I'll give you a change." [Will you take this change and change yourself or will you stay the same? I really hope you'll change and be happy this time.] ---------------------------------------------- A boy who achieved his dream but felt alone met a girl who gave him a second chance. 52_Magical room

"Where are those kids?!", the middle-aged man asked frustrated. After running after them till the building he thought he would be able to unleash his fury, but they disappeared without leaving any traces. The building they entered is a building where the most rooms were locked, and only opened when it needs to.

*BONK* *BONK*

He tried to open the canteen, but just as the others it didn't open.

"*SIGH* Where would these brats be hiding?"

The man with a tracking suit on walked away from the building after giving up on finding the 'annoying' brats in search of new prey.

"…"

"Is he gone?", Lilyann asked quietly in fear that the teacher would hear her.

"I think he's gone.", Arthur answered not fully sure of his own answer.

"I'll look", Lin said bravely and tried to quietly open the door. The key word is 'tried' because sadly for her the door made more noise than she would wanted, but luckily for her the teacher was already gone and couldn't hear the ear deafened noise.

"Why are you making so much noise?", Narcys asked annoyed.

"It's not me, okay? It's obviously this door that makes this annoying sound!"

The place where they were hiding was a room that no students knew of maybe even the teachers don't know of this room. The room was placed on the end of the corridor. The door was quite heavy and needed a lot of power to open. Some people may think that the room was closed but that's only because they didn't push too hard.

"Okay, okay, don't fight guys.", Arthur who somehow got used by their fighting tried to make them calm again, but slipped on something on the ground.

*BOOM*

"Auch!", Arthur cried out.

"Are you okay?", Lucius asked while stretching his hand out trying to help the wounded boy.

"I think.", he answered while accepting his hand.

"But does anyone know where we are?", Lucius asked. He never heard about a room like this not from teachers nor from students.

"I've got no idea.", Lin replied while the others too answered negatively.

"How did you know about this room?", Arthur asked Narcys, the boy who brought them there.

Lin rolled her eyes and answered a matter of fact: "It's obviously he skips the classes so much that he knows each hidden room that no one else know."

"I was searching for a place without humans, and I somehow found this room.", he replied while glaring daggers to Lin.

"But this place really looks magical.", Lucius said with amazement.

"I agree!", Lilyann told them.

The room was a bit dusty, but you could see traces from someone cleaning it up once in a while. It has an antique feeling as if they traveled back to the past. There were books everywhere even scrolls were to be find. It felt like a library but not at the same time. The room was small in size. In the middle was a table full of books. The table was surrounded by bookcases where the books were put carefully in some and messily in others. There was a window behind the table where light could shine through subtly. Dust was literally to be seen in the air and the scent of books could be smelled, but it did had a breathtaking view.

"What is written in those books?", Lucius asked Narcys curious, but Narcys only shrugged his shoulders indicating he doesn't know.

"You never read them?", Arthur asked.

"Too lazy."

"Let's look around maybe there is a clue hidden here?", Lucius told them even when he doubts there will, but what can he say. He was attracted to this place and wants to explore this small but fascinating room.

The others probably thought the same as Lucius but didn't voice it out but splits up and went their own way.

Everyone looked seriously around, but at the same time they were trying to cure their curiosity by looking through the things that seemed to be interesting, but as they thought there wasn't any clue to be found.

There were a lot of different kind of books. Some were books about the history of this world, Lumea. They didn't have the time to read everything, but by the looks of it, the books were old. The papers began to lose their color they had. Not each word was readable, but that just showed how hold this book really is.

Beside history books of Lumea you could find books of the students of the past years and even the history of how the schools came.

[There are also books of the other academies. Let's see there is from the Phoenix, Dragon, Qilin and the Kitsune Academies.]

Lucius who was happily looking through the graduations books of his seniors found a book from more than 200 years ago. When the photos were still in black and white.

<Dragon Academy 1829-1830>

He looked carefully inside it. Everyone looked happy and full of spirit. It made him feel fired up! Before he could look at the last page he was disturbed by a scream.

"Oh my gosh!!!!"

Lucius quickly put the book down while walking fast where the scream came from. Because of how fast he moved the wind that he created made the book show his last page where a boy with mischievous eyes smiled. Underneath it you could read his name <Asher Chronoseus>.

"What happened?", Lucius asked Lilyann who looked amazed. Even if he asked something she didn't answer but kept staring at a portrait.

"I think she fell in love.", Arthur said jokily but he too looked a little distracted.

"Why are you guys so loud!", Narcys asked with the same annoyed voice as always, but quieted down in an instant after looking at the portrait.

[Where have I seen her before?]

On the portrait that enchanted them was a woman where only half of her face could be seen. You could clearly see that someone ripped the photo therefore only her smiling lips could be seen. It wasn't a photo, but a painting. Photography would probably still haven't been invented in her time, but you could see that the painter did a great job. Sadly, only half of the product could be seen.

"She just looks so beautiful.", Lilyann told them what they knew.

The girl or woman seemed quite young. Her skin still had a smooth color and there were no blemishes to be found. She had smooth, straight black hair that reached her shoulders. Above it all she had a smile that warmed their hearts.

"Yeah, she looks heavenly.", Narcys said to everyone's surprise.

"Hehe, I know", Lin who suddenly seemed to feel shy tried to be modest, but her being shy changed fast to feeling not abashed.

"Why are you acting as if I'm complimenting you?", Narcys said disgusted.

"Guys- ", Arthur who tried to stop the fighting before it would begin was stunned by Lin's following words that nobody saw coming.

"I just thought that everybody seemed melancholy. I tried to brighten the room so why is everyone looking at me as if they will kill me if I say one more word."

They thought that Lin would respond to Narcys' words, but instead she didn't seem to mind a single bit.

"That- ", everyone was flabbergasted and didn't know what to answer. It was the truth that they did seem a bit off, but it feels weird that Lin pointed it out and tried to brighten the so called mood.

"We finished looking around, let's go to the canteen."

Somehow they couldn't reject the idea and walked to the door to go outside the room. Now only Lin and Narcys were left.

"You're not going?", Lin asked him.

Narcys looked one more time at 'her' and turned to the door without responding her. Not long after Lin laughed softly while looking at the portrait and walked peacefully to their destination, the canteen.

A/N: Hello everybody! My exams are finally almost done! There are three days left! I studied so much on some days I felt like dying. I could even feel the tears coming out my eyes!

Thank you for the power stones Loilz_lol!

Before ending this note I want to say that I read my stories that I wrote when I was 12 and I almost cried. Cried because it was so bad. My POV went from first to third without any reasons. Some were so cringe that I wanted to smash my head to the wall to forget them, but some did have a nice theme!

That was it! See you in the next chapter!
