106 Chapter 25: Bosses

As soon as I say that, runes start to glow on the duke's body. And the duchess brings out another tome. Two men stand in the front and confront me.

"You two take care of the women and I will take care of the men."

I say to other two. And as they hear me, Fenrir melds into the shadows and Noir phases out. After that, I raise my hand and wave them over again.

ROAR!

As soon as they see me do that, they roar on top of their lungs and lunges at me. While they approach me I hold my katana horizontally and unleash my mana wave at them. They try to jump over my mana wave and as soon as they jump I unleash another mana wave toward them.

And since they are in mid-air they fail to dodge my mana wave and tries to block it with their arm. Like before their runes protect them from getting sliced into two. Still, they get thrown away by the momentum of my slash.

After they get thrown away, I notice the duchess aiming another rune at me. She isn't touching the tome like her daughter. Tome is simply floating next to her. And the rune she is aiming at me turns into wind scythe and flies toward me at speed of, well wind.

Clang!

I bring my katana front and simply slash at it. And for some reason sound of metal colliding comes out. And just as she throws her wind blade at me, Fenrir jumps out of her shadow and pounces on her, she turns around and swipes a Fenrir.

Fenrir manages to bite down on her arm and fling her away.

Clang.

While I was concentrating on Fenrir, another wind blade hits from my side. It fails to penetrate my armor. Still the momentum of the wind blade knocks the wind out of me.

Two men stand up while that was happening and they attack me once again. By the time I oriented myself, they are almost at me.

Duke reaches me first and lunges at me with his maws open to bite me, I dash backward and evade his bite. And just as his mouth shuts, I dash forward and hits him in his guts and while hitting him in his guts, I release my hidden blade and stab into his stomach.

He falls back after getting stabbed. His son pounces on me from behind him and tries to tackle me with his arm wide open. Idiot. Did he not see what I just did?

Just as he was about to close his arm around me and tackle me to the ground, I simply dash backward like before and avoid his pathetic excuse for a tackle.

After he hugged empty air and tumble forward because of his momentum, I simple dash forward and punch him across his jaws. He flips backward and falls on the floor.

As he falls on the floor I stand over him and stab my katana between his eyebrows. But just as I bring down my katana, another rune materializes between his brows and protects him. As I push with more strength, it starts to crack.

Just as it was about to crack, the duke tackles me from my right side and pushes me down to the ground. He pins me to the ground and claws at me. I block his claws with my armor.

But his claws are too sharp for my armor to nullify their damage fully. While lying on the ground, I start to channel my fourth technique and finish channeling it in few seconds. And as soon as it got ready, I unleash it upon the duke. My pure white dragon flies upward from beneath the ground and takes the duke above me with it.

I will my dragon to take the duke with it and descend on duke's son lying on the ground. And just as I willed, my dragon takes the duke and descends on the duke's son. Duke falls on his son and my dragon grinds at them until it vanishes.

They are still alive but heavily wounded. While they are lying of the floor, I walked to them. While doing that, I look to the others. Noir is circling the duke's daughter and hitting her with his phasing. She tries to hit him with many kinds of rune magic, but all of them fails to penetrate Noir's phasing.

I think I don't need to worry about that. I come before the duke and his son lying on the ground growling in pain.

Still, I can see their wounds healing and hear their bones mending themselves. Still, this is more than enough for me to kill them. I raise my katana and aim it at the duke's neck. I bring down my katana like a guillotine.

"NO!"

Guttural scream attracts my attention and I see where the scream came from. Duchess is bleeding all over her body while looking at me, Fenrir is standing behind her. As soon as she directs her attention towards me Fenrir pounces on her and bites down on her shoulder.

But she ignores that and throws a rune that turns into lightning at me. I dash backward to dodge her lightning. Fenrir shakes her even stronger and throws her away after noticing that.

She hits the wall and falls on the ground. She doesn't get up but simply raises her head and points her right arm toward her husband and son.

As she does that another green rune shoots out of her arm and hits the duke and the duke's son. Just as she does that Fenrir comes before her and slashed with his claws and rips her into two.

Still, as soon as she shot her green rune, I try to intercept it but it simply passes by me and hits the duke and his son. They stand up only after a two second, as good as new. They both look toward the duchess and.

ROAR!

They both roar at me. While looking at them, I feel something behind me and get tackled by the daughter from behind. As soon as she pins me on the ground she goes to town on my back, slashing my back like a there is no tomorrow.

Luckily, Noir comes and crashes into her, throwing her away from my back. I stand up to see the three of them glaring at me with hatred in their eyes.

I guess that is understandable. Fenrir did just kill their mother and wife. Still, I couldn't help it. I raise my hand and wave them over.

"Come on, then."

ROAR!

All of them roar at me and lunges. I conjure up my second katana and run toward them. Just before we collide, I swing my katanas cross and unleash a cross shaped mana wave toward them.

Duke and his son blocks my cross slash with their rune. Daughter jumps over them and pounces on me. Just as she was about to reach me, Fenrir jumps from her side and crashes into her, throwing her away. He chases after her and unleashes his own mana wave with his claws.

And the daughter without runes on her body to protect her gets sliced by his mana wave. Two down two to go.

I see the duke and the son looking at their family member's corpse. And I actually see them shedding tears. I guess they didn't lose their humanity completely.

AWOO.

They both howl and runes covering them start to go blood red. As that happens their eyes and fur turn to blood red color. They rip my wave apart after turning red.

Now, I feel tremendous amount of bloodlust getting exuded by them. But I still couldn't help it. I raise my hand once again and wave them over.

"Come on, then."

They charge at me. Noir phases through me and charges at them. As they see Noir charging at them, they hold their ground and prepare for the impact. Noir collides with them. They slide backward while trying to stop Noir's charge.

And after sliding across the floor almost five meters, they actually manage to stop Noir's charge. After stopping Noir, they raise their claws and tries to slash Noir, but he simply phases through them and avoid their attack completely.

And just as Noir phases through them, I send another cross slash at them. But this time they break through it like passing wind and charges at me. Son gets in front and tries to tackle me. Does this idiot ever learn?

I dash backward just as he was about to tackle me. But instead of tumbling forward the so pushes forward with even more power and actually manages to crash into my chest.

I stumble backward from the crash. While that was happening, the duke jumps over his son and pushes me to the ground. And he opens his mouth and bite down on my shoulder. At first his fangs fail to pierce my armor. But with more strength he manages to bite my shoulder.

And I notice some kind of red energy covering his fangs. That red energy enters my bloodstream as soon as the duke bit me.
