22. It was all a lie...

I didn't look at them anymore. I focused on lest any tear flew from my eyes. Instinct told me they wanted to say something. They wanted to discuss. Phi! I looking forward to them!

I quickly bent down and reached under the mattress with my hand.

It was there that my deceased brother left me a small gift, and I have never felt so grateful to him as I do now.

I pulled out the gun, already loaded and unlocked, then pointed it at them with a steady hand.

To emphasize the seriousness of my words, I shot the floor next to them.

Samael tried to come to me, but Leonardo grabbed his arm and pulled him away to the exit.

Just before leaving, he turned to me. His eyes filled with liquid steel that would have paralyzed me were it not for my fury.

- It's not over, Gabriel. We'll be back.

With said this, he departed, and Samael with him.

When they left my apartment, I secured my gun and threw it on the bed.
