"Shh!" Alexander put his forefinger to his lips and gestured for Anna to keep her voice down as much as possible. "We'll go along where the horses can't easily walk, so even if they do spot us, they won't be able to catch us so quickly." Alexandre said as he pulled Anna deeper into the jungle.

After running for some time, they found an endless lawn at the top of the hill. Anna could no longer move, her legs were sore and numb and she was trembling. So she sat down with a thud and simply lay down on the grass. Alexandra was also exhausted and lay down next to Anna.

The two of them lay still and the forest was silent. For some reason, the sound of the horses' hooves that had been chasing them seemed to disappear.

But Anna and Alexandra both knew that their pursuers might appear at any moment, but they did not want to mention it to each other, for they did not want to break this rare moment.

Anna pricked up her ears as a cold wind blew through her bones.

Anna couldn't help but lean towards Alexandre, who pulled back his clothes and wrapped Anna in his arms, hugging her gently around his waist and letting her rest against his chest for warmth. His breath blew on Anna's hair, while she quietly enjoyed the warm and comforting embrace. Lying on the grass with Alexandre, watching the clouds roll in and out of the sky, it all felt so unreal. But Anna wished that time would stop so that this moment would last forever ...

After a few moments, the sound of horses' hooves came closer and closer. They both jumped up and started running again. They ran and ran, but eventually there was no way out as the cliff was behind them and Antonio's men surrounded them.

"What are you? How dare you seduce and abduct my wife? Arrest him and beat him severely ..." Antonio questioned, his eyes blazing with anger as he stared at Alexandria.

"It's not about him, don't make it hard for him, I seduced him ..." Anna stood in front of Alexandre, shielding him with her body, her eyes revealing her hostility.

"As a countess, you can't talk nonsense. I'll settle our score when we get home. ..." Antonio glanced at Anna, anger and jealousy flaring up in his face.

"No, I'm not going back with you. ..." Anna wouldn't budge.
