36 Goddess of War

Mihawk, seeing the transformation of Sun Wu frowned slightly.

[So this is the mythical Zoan devil fruit of the monkey king.]

He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. When he opened them again his eyes went from yellow to a golden colour but the most eye catching part was that the 2 black rings that surrounded the Iris' in his eyes started spinning slowly in opposite directions.

Kizaru looked at Mihawk's unique eyes.

[So that's the "Hawk Eye" Technique… Apparently they have the unique ability of seeing the weak points in every living thing!]

As Kizaru was looking at Mihawk's eyes, Mihawk's eyes were trained upon Sun Wu.

[Even when using "Hawk Eye", I still can't spot a single weak point. I guess I'll have to create one!]

Sun Wu took a giant stride towards Mihawk, thrusting his staff forward.

The staff was about to connect with Mihawk, but he still hadn't moved. It was as if he wasn't able to react.

Just as the staff reached him, the impact that everyone expected didn't happen. Instead the staff phased right through him.

Up in the sky Kizaru was in shock by Mihawk's display.

[How's this possible? Is he a logia?!]

Just as he was lost in thought Mihawk's body suddenly vanished which only seemed to increase the shock of the surrounding spectators.

When everyone was searching for Mihawk, he suddenly appeared behind Sun Wu. He swung his sword from left to right aiming to take the Admiral's head!

But instead of separating the head from the body, the sword simply phased right through his body before the body vanished.

When Mihawk saw the vanishing body, he looked dumbstruck.

[How is he able to use that?! That's impossible!]

Suddenly Sun Wu's calm voice could be heard.

"The "Vanishing Step" of the Dracule family is truly incredible, second only to the "Hawk Eye" technique.

You're probably wondering how I was able to use your family's technique… 4 words… "Monkey See Monkey Do"!

Unless a technique requires a fundamental change in the make up of your body, like being changed by a devil fruit or your Hawk Eye technique, there's nothing I can't copy!

Just give up, at your current level beating me is impossible!"

As he said that Mihawk's body vanished and 10 copies of himself appeared surrounding the Admiral.

"Didn't you hear what I just said?!"

As SunWu spoke his body vanished and 10 copies appeared directly in front of Mihawk's clones.

Each of Sun Wu's clones instantly defeated their target, making the defeated bodies vanish, fading out of existence.

"Part of being a man is knowing when to admit defeat!"

Mihawk appeared on a building opposite Sun Wu. He looked at the Monkey King as he replied indifferently.

"Part of being a man is doing what you believe to be right no matter the consequences."

As he said that he created 5 more copies. But Sun Wu could see that these copies weren't like the others.

[They have a physical body!]

All 5 clones raised their swords above their heads. As they did the terrifying aura that had originally surrounded Mihawk vanished and Mihawk appeared to have become one with nature.

"Able to fuse their attacks with the power of nature itself… The reports were right, you really have reached the Grandmaster boundary of the sword!"

Mihawk didn't reply as he and his 5 clones swung their swords down. A green sword light shot towards the amazed Admiral!

"Your strength is truly impressive, surpassing that of even my little disciple. But it's still not enough!"

Suddenly a terrifying pressure emerged instantly crushing the 6 sword lights and locking Mihawk in place preventing him from moving! It wasn't just him, everyone in the surrounding area felt a terrifying energy lock them in place threatening to crush them!

Mihawk looked at the man in horror.

"Domain! You're at the Staff Lord Boundary?!"

Sun Wu didn't reply to his question, instead indifferently saying.

"I already told you that at your current level, beating me is impossible!"

As the sound of his voice faded, he struck once more with his staff, but this strike was nothing like his previous ones. As Mihawk saw this strike it was like everything else vanished and only a lone black staff remained.

The 2 rings around Mihawk's eyes spun as he watched the staff approach. As soon as the staff entered his range, Mihawk finally made his move. It took him everything he had just to move under the restraints of the domain, but he didn't let it stop him. He swung his sword upwards to meet the staff that was thrust at his head. As he moved, it was like nature moved with him, allowing him to break free of the restraints of the domain.

As the two weapons met, Mihawk's arm went numb immediately. But he was successful, Sun Wu's staff was sent off track, missing Mihawk's face by millimetres. Even as the staff passed his face, Mihawk still felt a sharp pain as the wind brought by the attack tore against his cheek.

Mihawk was barely able to stand after that. Although he didn't take any actual damage he had raised his senses to the absolute limits to deflect that attack and as a result he was feeling completely drained and fatigued. He wasn't even able to carry on using Hawk Eye any more.

Sun Wu was a little surprised by Mihawk's being able to successfully deal with that attack.

"Those eyes really aren't for show… To think you were able to not only find the weak point of my attack but also deal with it successfully. I don't doubt that you would've one day surpassed even me but now because of your thick headedness you won't have the chance."

As he said that he took a step forward and channelled the power of his domain into his staff as he thrust it forward. At first glance, this strike seemed exactly like the previous one but those with keen senses could feel that it was completely different.

It was as if this one strike had sealed off all possible escapes preventing its target from escaping.

Mihawk knew there was no evading this one. With the time he had remaining before impact, he only just about managed to raise his sword and move so the attack struck his right chest instead of his heart which was where it had originally targeted.

As the attack hit, Mihawk's sword was the first to go, shattering on impact. Followed by his ribcage on the right side caving in as he was sent flying through 2 buildings.

After Mihawk was sent flying, Sun Wu stopped using his domain and turned to Kizaru as he said.

"Go and get that logia child!"

"What about the others?"

"Kill them all!"

Just as Kizaru was about to move, a bloody figure could be seen hobbling out of a half destroyed building. His body was in complete disorder and he looked as if he could be blown over by a gentle wind, but he was still holding on to half a sword and his eyes shone with nothing but determination.

"You won't touch those kids!"

Sun Wu looked at Mihawk with slight annoyance as he said angrily.

"When will you learn to just stay down?! If you didn't get back up, you could've kept your life!"

As he said that he shot at Mihawk swinging his staff down aiming to put an end to Mihawk once and for good.

As he was 5 meters away he was suddenly sent flying, crashing through multiple buildings before landing by the rest of the marines.

Stood just in front of Mihawk was a blonde haired woman wearing a white mask that had a smiling face with small red patches all over making it look like blood splatter with only a hole made for her sparkling emerald eyes.

She was wearing a tight fitted strapless blue warrior's chest plate that showed off her voluptuous figure, a red battle skirt that stopped at the top of her long fair skinned legs and a long plain white jacket with golden epaulettes making it similar to the ones worn by high ranking marines but hers was coloured black on the inside and had a picture of a smiley face wearing a golden crown with two crossed swords behind it. The thing that grabbed everyone's eyes most was the giant war axe she was holding over her shoulder making her look like genuine Goddess of War.

She was Roman's mother and the Joyous War Lord; Gaia!

When Mihawk saw who it was he couldn't help but let out a relieved smile as he said.

"You're late!"
