"Hugh?"
I paused by the door, raising my eyes at Hugo, who was leaning against the wall beside it, arms crossed. I carefully closed the door behind me, watching him cast me a side-eye.
"How long have you been here?" I inquired, stopping at his side, and tilted my head to the side.
"Not long enough to get angry." He released his arms, sprawling them to hold my arms, only to pull me closer.
Hugo bent his head down, eyes scrutinizing my face. I looked up at him squarely and tilted my head to the side.
"You said, 'not long enough to get angry,'" I repeated his claims just seconds ago. "But it seems you are... a bit."
"It's not anger, Bambi, but I'm definitely irritated," he confessed, brushing my jaw with the back of his hands down to the side of my neck delicately.
"Nothing happened inside."
