Sasuke Leaves the Village

"Alright! Shikamaru! Kohana! You'll both be heading up this mission." Tsunade said sitting behind the hokage desk, her blonde hair in two pigtails behind her head, as she wore a gray kimono with a green haori, her black sandals wrapped around her ankles

"Yes ma'am. Understood." Kohana said she wore a chunin vest over her cropped top. Her light red hair in two pigtails on either side of her head still with her headband tied tightly around her forehead, underneath her bangs.

"Oh man, this is gonna be such a drag. So Sasuke either left the village or was taken?" Shikamaru said his hands behind his head before he grabbed the mission report.

"That's right, these are the genin available for this mission. Take any one on that list." Tsunade said and Kohana looked over the list with Shikamaru,

"Katsuo for sure, I'm assuming Choji as well, Shikamaru?" Kohana asked and Shikamaru nodded,

"Why Katsuo? What about Kanae?" he asked

"Sasuke and Katsuo have a weird… thing, he might be able to get through to him. Kanae has a cold so she's house bound. Also Sai, since he's on the same team. And Shino would be helpful too I think since we don't really know who we're up against… so his bugs would be helpful scouts for sure. Also Kiba and akamaru. What do you think?" Kohana asked and Shikamaru nodded,

"So, Katsuo, Sai, Choji, Shino, Neji, Kiba and Akamaru, as well as us. Pretty good team." Shikamaru said before the exited the office, explaining the plan to the genin gathered. Shino and Choji stayed back for Jirobo. Neji and Sai staying behind for Kidomaru. Kiba and Akamaru getting stopped by the twins, Yakkon and Sakkon. As Katsuo, Kohana, and Shikamaru continued on, after the sound ninja who took Sasuke in a wooden container. Shikamaru staying back for Tayuya while the twins went after Kimimaru, a player who'd just shown up in order to get Sasuke to Orochimaru faster. The three ending up at a field.

"Sasuke isn't yours to own!" Katsuo yelled as he ran forwards aiming attacks at the guy before the container burst opened and Sasuke jumped out, laughing darkly before running into the forest. Kimimaru sending bones after Katsuo to stop him from pursuing Sasuke, Kohana blocking the attacks with her kunai.

"Windmill slice! Go! Katsuo! I'll handle this!" Kohana said and Katsuo nodded running after Sasuke as Kohana blocked the attacks from reaching Naruto.

"I see… You're of the Uzumaki clan." Kimimaru said

"Prepare yourself. I won't hold back" Kohana said in responsecreating dozens of shadow clones around the field,

"Firestyle! Dragon fire! Wind style torrent!" Two climbed said sending jutsu forwards Kimimaru jumping out of the way blocking and dealing attacks to the clones, dispersing them, as Kohana and the clones jumped back throwing out shuriken

"Shuriken shadowclone jutsu" the clones said sending what seemed to be thousands of Shuriken towards Kimimaru all at once

"Enough of this! Digital shrapnel" kimimaru said sending his bones around in

a big circle, Kohana having already dove under the earth, leaving her shadowclones above ground. The clones being quickly taken care of with the attack, Kohana grabbing Kimimarus ankle and switching places with him in the ground instead. Kimimaru sent bones forwards going straight through Kohana, who gasped before poofing from existence, a log in her place, as Kimimaru jumped out of the earth, Kohana kicked the back of his head. The two going hand to hand in Taijutsu, causing explosions to ring out through the forest. The entire team fighting their own battles. Shino and Choji resting against a tree, too tired to continue on, having defeated Jirobo. Neji and Sai were in a similar state, completely demolishing Kidomaru, but not having the energy left to continue on.

Shikamaru heard the explosions but was too preoccupied with Tayuya, the girl having employed a summoning in addition to a genjutsu. Keeping Shikamaru on his toes. Kiba could smell the battle from the ravine but he was facing Yakkon and Sakkon on his own with Akamaru, the twins keeping his attention. The sand siblings had been dispatched as backup, and upon feeling the shockwave of the explosions noted it was the right call.

"People aren't clothes. Their lives matter! Damit! Massive! Rasengan!" Kohana yelled though her voice remained light and airy as she shoved the rasengan easily the size of the hokages mansion at Kimimaru who scraped against the ground blocking the attack with his bones,

"You've got guts kid!" Kimimaru said before pushing back with his bones, the two being sent flying in either direction, sliding on the ground, dirt kicking up as they went. Kohana running forwards once more 'I cannot let this guy get past me.' She thought, as she blocked the bones with her kunai. Kicking Kimimarus face she forced the man back keeping up with him in taijutsu 'man, Lee is way better at Taijutsu. Or maybe Gai sensei. But it's not my forte' Kohana thought as she continued to go head to head with Kimimaru, before she was thrown aside. Sliding on the dirt she jumped back to her feet running as she held a kunai in her hand, jumping she aimed the kunai at Kimimarus head, the man grabbing her out of the air with his bones, holding her wrist tightly as he brought a bone closer and closer to her face,

"I'm sorry to say that your journey ends. Here." He said Kohana trying and failing to break free, as she kicked her foot out bones wrapped around her ankle. The bone crept closer to her face, before sand exploded between the two, forcing them apart, the sand moving to underneath Kohana. Catching her as she fell backwards. Shikamaru was at the end of his rope, he'd wreaked Tayuya in his shadow strangle jutsu but he couldn't hold her, in fact, his grip was already starting to slip. And Tayuya had noticed, the girl commenting on it, as the shadow slipped from her shoulder before completely releasing.

"You're mine!" She yelled before being blown back by a powerful current of wind. Kiba and Akamaru were at behind atree Sakkon aiming a kunai straight for him. Being stopped by a puppet.

"Who are you?!" Kimimaru demanded, Kohana looking over, as Gaara stood in front of her,

"Allies of the leaf village." Temari said as Tayuya asked her the same question

"We're shinobi…" Kankuro answered Sakkon from behind his puppet

"...Of the sand." Gaara said

"Good to see you again. Gaara." Kohana said in her light voice, standing, remaining on her feet out of pure spite

"Be careful, he uses a bone manipulation kekkei genkai. He can manipulate and move his bones at will and launch them from his fingertips. He's proficient in close combat. Naruto went after Sasuke so we need to stop this guy." She said holding two kunai her right leg shaking a moment but it wasn't anything she couldn't handle, largely due to the endorphins pumping through her system, like adrenaline.

"Your injured. He's pushed you beyond your limits." Gaara said

"I'm fine, lets tag team it" Kohana said throwing her kunai forwards intercepting the digital shrapnel Kimimaru sent forwards before going to run forwards, Gaara grabbing her ankle causing the girl to trip and stopping her advance, Kohana falling face first into the sand Gaara moved in front of her face.

"Why? I can help" She said after lifting her head from the ground. Before wincing and grabbing her right leg, 'thought so…' Gaara thought glancing down, she was bleeding in a few parts on the leg, though, the wounds were rapidly closing

"I'll handle this." Gaara said

'Crap crap crap this guys gonna kill him…um yeah that'd work.' Kohana thought before weaving firestyle signs

"Fire style! Firewall" Kohana said a wall of flames erupting in front of Gaara melting the bone as it came closer, Kimimaru dying a moment later, Kohana dropping the jutsu. Gaara taking them to an open part of the plains.

"Are you okay?" Kohana asked sitting in the shade of a tree she had a tear running past her face

"I'm uninjured. What about yourself? Why are you crying?" He asked and Kohana hummed a moment

"I'm crying? Oh… heh… um.. I'm okay, I was super worried about you though. my right leg just has a teeny tiny massive fracture or break I'm not really sure which. But I can't stand at the moment. You think Katsuo got to him?" Kohana asked and Gaara hummed, before shrugging.

"We should head back to the leaf." He said, and Kohana nodded before the whiskers on her face became more prominent, her eyes switching between her blue and red slitted eyes, as a red cloak began to coat her body

"Whats going on? Gaara what's happening?" She said

"It's tailed beast chakra," he answered also confused

"Tailed beast? You mean like the 9tail or 1tail? *groans* but Katsuo has the 9 tail not me and not Kanae, what's going on" She said,

"I don't know" Gaara said, and Kohana groaned again painfully, the red cloak spreading over her body.

"Try suppressing the chakra" Gaara said and Kohana nodded, doing what she could to suppress it, it was touch and go with the cloak for 20 minutes, before the rain started, the cloak disappearing completely. As Kohana fell to the ground of the forest, panting, her eyes blinking slowly,

"Are you okay?" Gaara asked, and Kohana glanced over, her hair falling into her face

"I don't know how you and Katsuo do that all the time, it's so hard. Harder than medical ninjutsu. And so tiring, *gasps* hey! My leg, it's healed!" Kohana said before sitting up in shock moving her leg, before crossing her legs, looking at Gaara

"What is it?" He asked, his hair also falling towards his face, Kohana grinned, before shaking her head,

"Come on, If I join Kanae in her sick leave she'll never let me live it

down." She said standing, stumbling a moment before holding a hand out to Gaara who took it, standing, Kohana then took his other hand, looking at his face a moment as she grinned.

"And Gaara, I'm not like you and Katsuo, but I'll do what I can to help ya know, so don't go getting all moody broody again, cause, well, ya know. I'll always be there for you, okay." Kohana said with a grin, and Gaara nodded,

"Yeah okay." Gaara said nodding, Kohana releasing his hands as they continued to walk back towards the leaf.

"Katsuo got him.. Sasuke I mean. I can sense him, hes being carried by Kakashi sensei, Katsuos being carried by Rin sensei. So this wasnt for nothing… yay…" Kohana said before nearly falling on her face, being stopped by Gaara putting a hand out, stopping her from falling.

"Sasuke is in so much trouble" Kohana said snickering, as they walked back to the leaf, Gaara glanced over, water dripped from her hair, gathering at the bottom of her chin before dripping to the soil and earth, her smile as she looked at Gaara, he found a light blush making it's way over his cheeks, as he nodded.

"Thanks for helping us out ya know, also with the academy" Kohana said her voice still very light and soft

"Happy to help. If you need help just call I'll come to your aid again Mr. Crybaby." Temari said to Shikamaru, Kohana laughing behind her hand

"Women… man you always have to get the last word" Shikamaru said

"Mhm." Kohana said nodding, with her hands behind her head,

"See ya next time guys, safe journeys." Kohana said

"Stay safe" Gaara said and Kohana nodded, returning the gesture,
