Chapter 21
B: Seth had been there reading when Isaac walked up. The two had become closer because of his sister's situation. It has been a week now. She had not shown any improvement, but she also had not been going downhill. He sighed and left Isaac alone with her after putting his bookmark in her book and setting it beside her bedside.
"Look, Isaac, I know you care about her but soon we will have to go back out there. We will need you at your best. Maybe it's time we both just realize she is not going to pull out of this." He said with tear filled eyes. "I mean look at her, she is wasting away in here. We may need to think about letting them...Never mind." Seth said as he turned and rushed out of the room.
Jess could hear everything. She wanted to let them know she was okay. She was fine, but in truth she did not know if she was okay. She could not move or anything. She had tried several times. She wanted to wake up and tell her family and Isaac she would be okay. She tied to move her hand but all she could feel was her finger twitching.
I: Isaac watched as Seth left and he chuckled. Then his laughter grew into a hard chuckle. he wiped his eyes and sighed after the laughter died down. "Jess, you are killing him." He sighed and leaned closer to her. "That kid is trying his best to keep it together for you. I know that you are strong, and I know that I love you dearly. But it seems the one who needs you the most right now is Seth." He took her hand gently. "Open your eyes Jess. This has gone on long enough. Seth is in pain, and he needs you to wake up. It's funny to me, because he is fighting so hard to keep his emotions inside and he doesn't realize that you are fine. I know what death looks like Jess, and this, looks like you needed a hell of a lot of sleep."
He got up and leaned over her and softly kissed her forehead. "Wake up, Jess." He began to kiss her cheek and he whispered to her ear. "Wake up...Jess." Isaac knelt beside the bed and put his face into the palm of her hand. He had to laugh to keep from crying. he held her hand and began to pray on his knees for her to wake up. He begged and swore to be a better man. "Please wake up Jess. I just found you...I just fell in love. I can't...I can't lose you." He began to cry and quickly wiped his tears away. He couldn't read her a book, he couldn't bring her flowers, he couldn't talk to her...all he could do was pray.
B: Jess could hear Isaac talking but she could not move. She tried to let him know that she was there with him, but she couldn't. Her hand twitched as his head touched it. She just wanted to stroke his hair and hold him. Her eyes watered as she was in the bed. The tears leaked out as she cried in her head. ITS NOT FAIR! I am in love with him and now I am away from him because of this damned injury. She yelled. Her body twitched as she thrashed in her head.
I: "Jess?" He could feel it! A twitch, a slight movement. He could feel it! "Jess?! Say something. Can you hear me?" He gently placed his face beside hers and listened.
"NURSE!" He yelled for the nurses and they came flocking to him. "Get Seth in here right away. Tell him it's Jess. I know she can hear me. She's trying to wake up."
The nurses looked at each other sadly. "Are you sure you aren't seeing-"
"No! She moved, I felt her! Give me some adrenaline." He demanded and the nurses looked at one another and shook their heads.
"Isaac, you need some rest. Come, let's let Jess sleep. We all knew that this was going to happen so let's leave her body in peace until Seth decides to let her go. She didn't move Zack, that is pain and hopefulness." She said thoughtfully and touched his shoulder and he yanked away.
"No damnit! I'm not crazy! I'm not drowning in sorrow and imagining things! She moved and she heard me. She understands me!" Isaac went to grab it himself and the nurses yelled and held him back. They cried for help and the other hunters grabbed Isaac and pushed him out of the infirmary.
"Isaac! You are not her family! That is not your decision and you know that! Seth is in charge of what happens and everything that happens to Jess must be approved by him. You are not her husband, and you cannot overthrow his authority. Get out of this infirmary. If we can't trust you will respect our rules then as of now, you are permanently banned from seeing her." The lead doctor said to him, but Zack shook his head and tried to push through them.
"I felt her! Don't do this! Get out of my way, I have to help her!" One of the hunters tried to contain him and Zack punched him to be released and the scuffle turned physical.
"Isaac! Bring him to the dungeons until I can talk to Alexander. Get him out of here. Someone call Seth now. It's time for him to decide what to do with this." The nurse left and the men hauled Zack away and he watched as they took Jess to a private room for only Seth to see her.
Zack was locked in their holding cell, his hands chained to keep him from attacking anyone or using his Stele or weapons that were removed and set aside. He stared angrily. "I want to talk to Seth. Please bring Seth!"
B: Seth rushed to the infirmary, the doctor explained what happened and Seth rushed to his sister's side. "Jessie? Can you hear me?! If you can do something anything!" he said rushed to his sister. He waited and the doctors did to. Jess herd her brother and she cried out for him SETH!!!!! IM HERE HELP ME!!!! She cried in her head. She thrashed about in her head and her leg twitched the smallest movement, but it was noticeable.
Seth jumped up and looked at the doctor. "Do what you must to bring her out of this. I need my sister. Also release Isaac. Whatever he was doing he was trying to save my sister." Seth ordered to the doctors. he looked at his sister and smiled. "We are going to help you sis. Just hold on." Seth whispered to his sister with tear filled eyes. Just moments before all of this he was going to let her go. Let her join their parents., but now he knew there was hope. The nurse came over with adrenaline and looked at Seth. "Are you sure? This could cause some complications later." She explained. Seth nodded.
The nurse pushed the IV into her arm and pushed the liquid into her body. Moments after taking it out Jessie shout up gasping for breath. Everyone around jumped. A few nurses even screamed. Seth hugged Jess and cried. "I thought I lost you."
