Chapter 5 The Extremely Tragic Air Disaster

Editor: Atlas Studios

If you observed carefully, the airplane seemed to be heading straight for Li Teng at the tip of the pillar.

This truly was an extermination.

It appeared that everything had ended.

Now Li Teng was left with only two choices.

One choice was to seek death proactively and jump from over a thousand meters in the air.

The other was to stand on his bed with his hands behind his back, gaze at the sky at a 45-degree angle, and stare down the plunging airliner with a brave and fearless spirit, ready to die generously.

At least he would die with some dignity.

Li Teng didn't have much time left to make a decision.

The civilian airliner was diving at an extremely fast speed; in a mere ten seconds or so, it had rushed from the distant horizon to the vicinity of the pillar.

Li Teng could even make out the pilot in the cockpit who was controlling the plane.

Charging straight ahead like this, the pilot definitely did it on purpose!

The civilian airliner really was a colossal beast.

Never before had Li Teng faced a plunging civilian airliner's nose cone head-on from such a close distance. Suddenly confronting this scene, he felt it was truly terrifyingly huge.

This immensity could instantly smash Li Teng into pieces.

Just as Li Teng desperately suppressed the terror in his heart and bravely faced death, the civilian airliner about to crash into the tip of the pillar emitted another 'bang!' of a muffled sound.

The enormous fuselage tore apart in an instant.

It seemed to rip into three stages, the nose, the body, and the tail.

Many passengers were thrown out from the cracks in the plane, some covered in blood, some with bodies mutilated, and others still strapped to their seats. Li Teng could even hear their screams and cries of anguish, and soon, they were scattered over the mountains, lakes, and wilderness outside the town below like nymphs scattering flowers from the heavens.

The torn-off nose and body of the plane grazed the pinnacle of the pillar, roaring past on either side of it.

They were probably only a few meters away from the pillar.

The nose and body, wrapped in powerful air currents, nearly blew Li Teng right off the bed.

Fortunately, Li Teng realized something was wrong in time and squatted down to grab the headboard railing, preventing himself from being swept away by the airflow.

No sooner had the nose and body roared past than a flight attendant, thrown from who knows where, spiraled through the air and screamed as she hurtled toward Li Teng.

Raining beauties from the sky was not a good thing for Li Teng at the moment.

With the flight attendant flying toward him so fast, Li Teng knew that if he were hit, he would either be killed on impact or knocked off and fall to his death from a thousand meters high.

So Li Teng couldn't possibly feel the urge to play the hero; instead, his body immediately rolled over to the foot of the bed and grabbed the footboard railing.

The screaming flight attendant crashed directly into the headboard, precisely where Li Teng had just been squatting.

The immense inertial force of her spinning body instantly shattered most of the headboard railing, but her own body was ripped in two in the collision.

The upper half of her body continued to fly forward screaming, while her legs remained hanging on the broken railing posts of the headboard.

As Li Teng hesitated whether to reach out and grab her legs, the tail section of the plane followed the departing flight attendant and charged over, hitting the top of the pillar and also plundering the flight attendant's legs along with half of Li Teng's headboard.

The pillar, seemingly made of some special material, remained unharmed after being hit by the tail, but it shook violently, and Li Teng, clinging tightly to the bed's footboard railing, was almost thrown off by the shaking pillar several times.

After skimming past the side of the pillar, the nose and body of the civilian airliner continued to hurtle forward at high speed, each heading toward the hard ground a few kilometers below the pillar, where they exploded into flames on impact.

The tail of the civilian airliner, however, had its direction altered after the collision with the pillar and was thrown onto a mountain about a kilometer below the pillar, then rolled into a large lake at the edge of the mountain.

The mountain seemed to have many tall trees, which should provide some cushioning.

It was uncertain if there would be any survivors from the tail section.

The flight attendant torn in two, even if she fell into the large lake, would most likely not survive.

For the human body, falling from such a height, hitting the water is not much different from hitting concrete.

Moreover, she was left with only half of her body.

Even if she didn't die from the fall into the lake, she wouldn't be able to hold on for very long.

She would soon die from excessive bleeding.

It was too tragic.

How painful must it have been for her body to be violently torn into two stages?

That there could be someone more tragic than oneself in this world.

The passengers in the cockpit and main cabin were certain to die; with such great fire and thick smoke, none could have survived.

The passengers thrown out from the broken fuselage would also not likely survive.

This was bound to be an exceedingly horrendous air disaster with the annihilation of everyone on board.

Li Teng's heart pounded chaotically, and his body couldn't stop shaking.

Luckily, his reflexes were quick enough, or else he would've gone with the flight attendant by now.

The stone pillar, possibly because it was too high, shook violently after being struck by the tail of the civil airliner.

If the stone pillar had been broken, there would have been only one outcome; Li Teng would fall from here, his body shattered to pieces.

Fortunately, the stone pillar stopped shaking after just two or three minutes and steadied.

The material of this stone pillar was certainly extraordinary, as a normal one would have been smashed and broken into several pieces by such a forceful impact.

Li Teng's bed was not so lucky; it was left with only three legs, the other leg along with most of his bed head, his pillow, some of his quilt, and mattress padding had been carried away by the tail of the airplane.

The quality of this ancestral wooden bed was just excellent; it still hadn't fallen despite having only three legs.

Of course, it might also have had to do with the fact that the bed's legs were riveted to the top of the stone pillar.

Although he didn't die, witnessing such a horrific scene caused Li Teng's mind to reel.

Being stranded at the top of this stone pillar was bad enough, but then there was the thunderstorm the night before, which nearly struck him dead.

If the lightning hadn't killed him, the cold nearly snatched away half his life.

And today, there was an actual air disaster!

An air disaster is one thing, but why did it feel like it was directly targeting him?

Who was orchestrating all this from behind the scenes?

"Don't let me find out who you are!"

"I won't let you off even if I become a ghost!"

Li Teng howled inwardly.

Below the stone pillar, the fire at the crash site of the nose and fuselage gradually disappeared, leaving only two thick pillars of black smoke.

After floating on the lake's surface for a while, the tail of the plane quickly sank to the bottom and disappeared from view.

"Given the severity of this air disaster, rescue organizations and investigators should arrive on the scene soon, right?"

"Once they get here, they are bound to notice this towering stone pillar."

"Upon discovering this pillar, sending a helicopter or a drone should lead to them spotting me up here pretty quickly, right?"

"Maybe I could turn this misfortune into a blessing and be rescued?"

Looking at the two thick pillars of black smoke on the ground, Li Teng's heart kindled with renewed hope for rescue.
