The results came, all of the aspiring mages head towards a room waiting the announcement of who passed the test. Isabelle was shaking, Ishkaria saw it too. She could only hold Isabelle's shaking hands.

"Have faith Isabelle, You'll pass the test."

Isabelle was still shaking but felt more ease thanks to Ishkaria. Isabelle nodded and held Ishkaria's hand tighter.

Ishkaria prayed, prayed to the blessed spirits that her Isabellle may pass the test. Isabelle was like a sister to Ishkaria, they have been together for almost everytime and to be separated now, Ishkaria doesn't want it.

Soon after, The professor who examined them entered the room and holds a paper that contains the results.

"Everyone passed the test" everyone overjoyed, including Isabelle but it was short lived. "Aside from one person" He continued.

Tears fell from Isabelle's eyes. She knew that ONE person was herself.

'I knew this would happen, I knew, But, why did it hurt so much.'

"No! I don't want it, Then I dont want to become a mage anymore, not without you Isabelle." Ishkaria protested. Everyone was shocked.

"No Ishkaria, You have to become one, for me." Isabelle said

"I don't want to!" Ishkaria hugged Isabelle. Tears also drops from her eyes.

"Why are you crying child?" The professor asked

"I know I am the person who failed sir."

"Certainly you failed the test, both written and practical. But I still havent said the other thing" Isabelle's eyes widened, a slight hope appeared.

"You are accepted in Althrea, you will be an apprentice but directly under the supervision of professor Balthazar."

Isabelle's tears flow heavier than before. Ishkaria hugged Isabelle tighter.

"You made it Isabelle, my prayer was heard by the blessed spirits, what's wrong? you are that happy that you started crying more?"

'NOOOOOOOOOOO' Isabelle yelled to herself.

*hours earlier*

At the great tower of Althrea the professors gathered on the round table.

"The new apprentices shows great potential. Specially these two, Kennedy Illyagor and Frey. Both aced in practical and written tests"

Celestina showed the paper containing the profile and results of the said students.

"hmm, One Fire elemental mage and the other a spirit mage huh, primal magic is rare in this lands, specially for a person that is not an elf or a native to Enthua." Annean looked at the two's profile carefully.

"But I do not approve of this child from Illyagor family of Altenor."

"Why so professor Steaven." Celestina asked

"Hot headed and full of himself, It will be his downfall. A while ago, that brat challenged me on a duel, of course I refused. But his attitude is not fit for a mage" Steaven told his experience with the said child.

"The bastard child of Lester Illyagor huh. He was blessed with great elemental might, if it not for that he would most likely work on the fields or a servant. And for his attitude problem, it is our duty to reprimand him as an educator and make him fit to be a mage." Annean stroked his thick beard.

He was indeed a good educator worthy of being the headmaster of Althrea.

"There's only one student who failed the test. A nobility from Brethlia, her name is Isabelle Lauren."

Professor Mazlier puts Isabelle's profile on the table.

"What is she? an elf or a human? maybe something in between, But I've never seen a hybrid like this before, specially that mark of hers" The elf professor named Aubrey showed great interest towards the student named Isabelle.

"Her magic is rare, but that's it. No potential at all." Steaven bluntly said his opinnion.

The other professors agreed even Annean on Steaven, She may have a rare magic but without the talent to use it, It was useless. She will not survive as a mage, so it's better for her to not become one.

Balthazar grabbed the paper on the table containing Isabelle's profile and examined it carefully.

"I will take her." He said, Everyone was astonished.

"You will?" Annean asked. Balthazar never taught anyone before nor accepted any apprentice aside from Celestina.

"Sir Balthazar if something where to happen to her-"

"I will take responsibilities" Balthazar interupted Steaven.

Annean smiled, "So be it" He said.

"May I know why?" Aubrey asked Balthazar, not just her but everyone else aside from Annean wanted to know why this Balthazar accepted this failed student despite not accepting even the best apprentice before.

"That's classified" He replied.
