Chapter 113 | I am Magic

"Accept the things you cannot change, have the courage to change the things you can, and have the wisdom to know the difference..." — Nora Allen.

Magic.

This was a subject commonly known by many.

It had its own believers, non-believers, and, finally, the ones who took a step forward to practice with such a mystical force.

The humans in the DC Multiverse weren't magical in nature since Magic in itself was a difficult force to sense and harness.

And those who got the chance to come into contact with it through various means eventually came to know that it was a double-edged sword.

Magic in DC wasn't like a fairy tale, where you do it without repercussions.

It had a price.

Noah could relate such a thing with the 'Fullmetal Alchemist' where alchemic transmutations always followed the law of equivalent exchange.

If you want something, leave your hand behind for Truth in exchange.

Of course, it all depended on the value of your offering.

Constantine normally contracts angels and demons and uses magical artifacts to play around with magic or cheat!

But what do you expect from demons, they will always find ways to cheat and benefit more from the contract.

Well, a bastard like Constantine knew how to deal with them.

Then we have Zatanna, one of his lovers.

Zatanna is a magi, simply, she comes from a lineage of people with innate magical properties.

Her way of performing magic is quite unique and funny as she normally speaks her spells backwards.

And Dr.Fate wears a helmet to do some magic tricks. The said helmet is a rare magical artifact that houses a Lord of Order called Anbu.

Besides the consequences incurred from using it, like possible corruption and lifespan reduction, magic was a truly beautiful and enigmatic part of life and creation.

Dr. Manhattan even said it was some discarded computer codes or scraps of creation bullshit, heck, you can even feel the blatant disdain in his words.

Anyway, it didn't matter to Noah as he knew all things came from the Source and Creation was just part of the Source.

He had already reached a state where things in existence lost their definition and meaning in front of him.

His words were law!

He could just embody magic in an instant like nobody's business.

"Aargh!" A moan of pain disrupted the silent atmosphere.

It was Raven holding her head as if her mind was constantly being stabbed by little needles.

Damien quickly dashed to support her body from falling.

Noah and his harem decided to walk toward the place holding the cyborg and Barry.

The Justice League hurriedly followed him as if on instinct like little lambs.

Since he didn't want to walk around in a cramped space like the tunnel Diana had proposed in the storyline, Noah decided to create a suitable path.

He touched the huge wall barrier separating him from the inside and smirked.

[Decay Magic]

Under his fingers, the solid matter crumbled into fragmented small sandy particles to form a huge hole that was enough to accommodate a spaceship.

His actions once again astonished the justice league.

They reacted like country bumpkins.

Only Constantine and Raven knew that this entity whom they still didn't know the name was using very high-level chantless magic effortlessly.

Was he some Magic God or something?

"Who are you?" Raven asked in a weak voice.

Noah looked back and flashed a smile at her that made the teenage girl blush.

"I am Magic."

His response made the goddesses laugh via telepathy among themselves while on the outside, they were expressionless, showing that they were unfazed by Noah's boastful words.

The Justice League, of course, didn't believe him.

"Bullocks!" Constantine cursed in a low tone.

He felt as if they had been duped since the mysterious group was clearly hellbent on not availing their identities.

But what did he expect from them? Nothing.

He felt powerless in front of them and he instinctually felt that the group was made up of extremely terrifying monsters.

They all give him the feeling of someone he didn't like to remember.

Lucifer Morningstar. The Bloody Prince of Hell.

Anyway, that was a story for another day.

Inside the huge building, something ridiculous came into their view.

A figure clad in red was running like a thirsty dog on an elevated treadmill.

The neck was connected to a thick wire that seemed to be absorbing energy from Barry to power up the whole Apokolips.

'Darkseid is truly brainy to use an infinite source of energy like Barry Allen as a generator,' Noah chuckled inwardly.

"Oh my God!" Clark exclaimed in shock while moving fast to save the Flash from his torture.

Barry looked haggard and traumatized as he seemed to be constantly vibrating between incoherent words.

"Barry! Barry! Wake up it's us!" Clark gently shook the Flash to jolt him back to normalcy.

Constantine moved toward Barry with a serious expression on his face.

"Don't bother with him, he will be just fine," Noah spoke up as he made the Flash sleep via [Sleep Magic].

Barry will deal with that [Flashpoint Paradox] later on.

"Darkseid will be back in about two minutes."

He then led them past a laser-induced security system using [Techno-magic] to render them useless.

Meanwhile...

'Let go!' Raven struggled against the menacing mental voice of her demonic father.

The constant resistance ate away her sanity.

'Let go, Raven!'

'Let Gooo!'

She wanted to give in very badly but if she did all her friends will die at Trigon's hands, especially Robin.

Raven didn't want to experience such a fate.

Noah expressionlessly looked at the struggling girl.

Well, he would lie to himself if he didn't feel pity for the beauty.

In his previous life, Raven was one of the female characters he admired in DC Multiverse.

Especially, the occasional joy he got from "Teen Titans Go" during his childhood.

And for that, he decided to scare the living hell out of Trigon inside the gem prison.

Noah mobilized his will and immediately manifested inside the gem.

The dimension inside was beautiful since the gem itself was connected with Azarath, the place where Raven was born.

Chained down to the ground, with heavy dark chains made out of Raven's magic was a huge, almost ten feet, red demonic forefather.

It was Trigon, the spawn of Evil.

With such a demonic body and six eyes on his face that seemed to be capable of direct soul annihilation, it was expected for mortals and cosmic beings alike to greatly fear him.

Trigon raised his eyes and looked at the new visitor.

He couldn't sense how he came in or how he manifested himself inside Raven.

But Trigon as a pure force of evil didn't care about all that and instead, started to think how he could manipulate the young man to release him from his prison.

With just a gaze, Noah had seen through his thoughts.

He knew how Trigon was a Master manipulator who was well-versed in grasping his victims' emotions.

But sadly... Noah was not a victim.

"Trigon, I know you are thinking up ways of how to manipulate me and mess me up." Noah laughed heartily as a matter of fact.

"You-" Trigon was baffled.

"I am not here to entertain your lonely ass."

"So... would you just stay silent like a good doggie and wait for your turn to enter the show?"

Trigon wanted to angrily retort but when he saw the look in Noah's eyes.

Trigon was an abyss of malevolence but when compared to the hungry void he saw in that young man... he felt like an ant, a worthless pile of shit!

He felt fear, something that he had never felt before in his life ever since he started his conquest at One Year old!

The possibility of incurring [Absolute Death] if he spoke nonsense was just a breath away.

"Okay," Trigon replied dejectedly while maintaining a respectful tone.

Noah's expression returned to normal and smiled as if moments ago, he did not terrify the living daylights out of Trigon.

"Good. I want your best performance against Darkseid."

"Don't disappoint me!"

Noah then dispersed his will into smoke.

Trigon showed a multitude of complicated emotions on his face.

He then released a defeated sigh.

"That person is even more terrifying than the entity claiming himself to be 'God'!"

He knew that he had met a True Demon God!

Now he just had to entertain his request and try to stay alive!

"Darkseid, Oh Darkseid!"

Whoever he was, Trigon was to make a mess of his face!
