As reporters looked on in astonishment, Eto completed her registration.

Reporters swarmed around Eto, eager to interview her, as she tried to leave.

Eto had prepared statements in advance, expressing a desire for peace and the exhaustion of a life spent in hiding.

She intended to use media coverage to change public perception of ghouls and accelerate acceptance of the CCG's Ghoul Act.

Reporters, seeking more insider information or sensational news, pursued Eto relentlessly. Some inexperienced reporters underestimated the danger she posed as a petite ghoul.

However, their attention was suddenly diverted by a large crowd gathering at the headquarters' entrance. To their alarm, every single person in the crowd had terrifying red eyes—they were ghouls, numbering over a thousand.

CCG personnel and security investigators felt their hearts race with anxiety.

The reporters fell silent, abandoning their pursuit of Eto for an interview.

Lin Yi realized he could no longer avoid making an appearance. He sighed helplessly, recognizing several prominent members of the Aogiri Tree organization among the crowd. Eto had not only come alone but had also brought the entire Aogiri Tree, making a significant statement to the ghoul race.

The scene overwhelmed even ordinary individuals.

Leading the security efforts, Amon, the top investigator, couldn't resist Mado's request to handle the situation.

Lin Yi leaped over the fence, landing smoothly from a height of over ten meters. With the CCG emblem on his uniform, he exuded a solemn aura. An astute investigator had even brought him a chair.

Lin Yi spoke slowly, urging the registration process to continue.

The investigators and staff members regained their composure and resumed the registration process in an orderly manner.

In truth, all the ghouls present were members of the Aogiri Tree. Eto had assured there would be no trouble. After all, if she personally intervened, death would be the least of their worries.

However, it was necessary for Lin Yi to appear, showing the public that even the most ruthless ghouls would have to obey the law as long as he was present.

Finally, in the middle of the night, Lin Yi found an opportunity to rest. Mentally and physically exhausted from dealing with numerous inquiries throughout the day, he stood on the rooftop of the CCG headquarters, holding a bottle of beer and enjoying the cool night breeze as he gazed into the distance.

Eto leaned on the nearby railing, looking at the starry sky.

She was in a good mood, playing with her new identification card. It granted her the treatment of a normal human, allowing her to live without hiding her true nature.

"It's a shame that sharing a drink is more enjoyable with two people. I hope they can develop ghoul beer in the near future. I would have invited you for a drink," Lin Yi joked, taking a big gulp.

"I'm looking forward to it. But why is the Director of the CCG so idle?" Eto asked, turning her head.

"Because I have two exceptional women in my life," Lin Yi boasted, revealing a content smile. Under his guidance, Kurona and Nashiro had become capable of standing on their own.

Eto rolled her eyes, stood up, and prepared to leave.

"Are you leaving so soon? It's such a beautiful night. Don't you want to rest a little longer?" Lin Yi asked.

"I don't have as much leisure time as the great Director. I'm responsible for all the dirty and tiring work," Eto teased, clearly enjoying her role. "However, it has been a pleasure working with you."

As soon as she finished speaking, Eto transformed on the spot. Her numerous kagune extended, enveloping her entire body. In a matter of seconds, she turned into a massive non-humanoid monster.

With a powerful leap, she jumped off the hundreds of meters tall building. Descending due to gravity, she spread her arms like a raven and soared into the sky.

Lin Yi smiled faintly, continuing to savor his drink.

At this crucial moment, he resolved matters for the human side, while Eto helped address the ghoul side.

Not everyone, humans and ghouls alike, was willing to accept the new law. Many ghouls had developed a taste for killing and cannibalism, making it challenging for the CCG to capture them all. However, Eto could. With the Aogiri Tree organization infiltrating various ghoul factions, she was the true underground ruler.

In the past, her intervention was unnecessary, but now, if she desired, she could easily expose and apprehend all these criminals.
