Chapter 3: Environment

John decided to look around. The creature looked exhausted and didn't seem to bother with him any more.

Looking around, the area seemed to be a small garden. Although the glass walls looked more like a lab area. Broken tubes and spilled liquid stained the floor. All the electronic screens were dark black. Dark cables hung fron the ceiling in disarray, the place hadn't been used for a while.

The only thing alive was the creature John saw earlier, but it looked relatively harmless.

'I wonder what happened here', John thought to himself. He looked at the files and folders on the desk, but they were in a language he couldn't understand. Pictures of molecules and plants he had never seen before were inside.

'Well this isn't going to help me'

John looked up to see the green exit signs and decided to follow that instead. Everywhere were empty rooms, the floor was relatively clean as snow hadn't gotten inside yet.

He passed by a few stocked vending machines, only one had it's glass broken. However most of the candy and chips were still inside.

Finding the stairs, John slowly headed up to the rooftop.

"Hard hats required, high frequency antennas above"

He pushed open the door as he could see the white snow again, the entire landscape was covered in a fresh layer of snow. Only a few gray funnels stuck out, as the power lines from the power plants headed towards the equally dark city.

After taking a moment to look around, John headed back inside and look for the group. He was almost out of rations and water. It was enough exploring for today.
