Chapter 2: Life... somewhere

I woke up to a sound of of breathing. Looking to my side, I was greeted by my beloved. Still sound asleep. Unable to resist I stole a couple of kisses. Seeing her smile, I held her closer, reminiscing on the past month.

We had been in this world for four weeks now. Through out those times, we spent a lot of time with each other. We were trying to get more comfortable with our bodies. Our new look was courtesy of the maiden and herself. And a lot of addition from my beloved. My beautiful Elise is now going by her new name.

'Azula'. Yikes.

What can I say, I was a bad influence on her.

That and figuring out our respective magics and blessings. She is ofcourse possessing incredible affinity to fire. She can create fireballs the size of basketballs worth with but a flick of her wrist. I on the other hand had to concentrate. The opposite is true to me for Ice.

Though my specialty lies on combat spell. I can actually emmulate several convenient spells like 'accio', 'reparo', 'lumos', 'scourgify' and the like. But my favorite is what Elise and I had been playing with lately. Sorcery and incantations from Elden Ring. Well, sorcery mainly. Incantations are well.... extremely taxing.

We had to move from our previous place to another after she got too carried away and hacked down a wall using a fire version of Adula's moonblade. One she invented after being too frustrated at forming ice.

Though it was inconvenient, we were happy to realise we were not so limited to but a few swings. We don't have a lot of varieties but what we can perform is amazing for this world already.

Our magic regenerate at a slow pace. It would take Ten Hours for our magic core to fully recover. But every time it recovers, it's overall capacity increases. We haven't bothered to have a good measure of how much yet but it was a good boost, we suspect about a ten percent increasse. After all our core has already more than doubled after just one month.

Another good side is since our bodies are not affected negatively by it, we were both able to check our other blessings.

Elise refuse to tell me much of her blessings. The constant blushing of her face every time I bought it up made me both very curious and very happy and all the more happy to keep asking.

What she did tell me though is that our new bodies was because of her. She chose them this way. Just as she looks like Elesis from GrandChase, I look like Ronan. Not just in looks but talent and skills aswell. It was no wonder sword and magic came naturally to us. We enjoyed some time fighting each other either in magic, swords or both at the same time. So much so that we do get carried away.

And so we discovered healing magic. We can't regrow limbs yet, but we can reattach it.

The thing that had me both scared and giddy though was where we are right now. The ruins of Valyria. Why the gods sent us here is obvious. The giant tree stump at a giant tower, futher south of the ruins. Located at what once was it's capital. We trekked across the ruins, it's roads now served as rivers of flowing lava. So we ended up doing parkour, jumping across the roofs and running on the walls of the now ruined city.

Our bodies though makes it extremely fun. We are like super human here. Though we didn't notice it till our 2nd day across the ruins, we can mantain this state indefinitely, but at the cost of a fifth of our magic core being in acessible to us, 15% to be precise.

Hearing her melodious laughter had me smiling as I chased her.

Half way across the ruins we saw a few ugly looking dragons. They looked so deformed, one had three wings and one leg, another had two heads and wings but no legs, another had four legs, no wings but two heads, one on each end and many other dragons just as disfigured. And one that stands out, looking more demon than dragon. Bat like wings and clawed monkey hands and feet, with a chest so skinny you can see the bones already.

They were savage or cannibals really. Eating the corpses of the other dead dragons but that's not all. Those corpses are already looking very rotten but still they eat it.

Their nature is savage. They attack at first sight. One of them came at me, lunging to eat me whole. I rolled to it's side, forming a Carian greatsword and slash at it's neck. My spell burried itself a third of the way through the neck but not enough to decapitate it. It released a roar bringing the attention of other dragons to us, so I hefted the blade and put more strength into the swing. Decapitating it and killing the dragon.

We heared roars from all over. Receiving a death glare from my beloved I just simply sent her an apologetic smile. Though she doesn't want confrontation, I can tell she's just as excited and afraid as I am. So I squeezed her hand and readied another Carian Greatsword on one hand and a Carian Slicer on another. Elise on the other hand prepared, surrounding herself with Carian Phalanx, a Greatblade Phalanx and Loretta's Greatbow in hand.

And so Eli- I mean Azula and I prepared for the fight.

I bent my knees and jumped. Meeting the first one, the demon dragon in the air. It opened it's mouth to breath fire towards me. I inturn surrounded myself in a blue bubble made of swirling magic, causing the flames to be diverted. As I reached the dragon I slashed at it's neck, it dodged twirling sideways and tried to claw at me. Releasing a small burst of magic from my feet, I propelled myself upward avoiding it's reach. I flipped myself upside down midair, and then released another burst, propelled myself at high speed towards the dragon. I held my greatsword forward and attempted to skewer him like an spear. The dragon tried to block with both it's hands, and it did. My greatsword burried itself into it's hands but not deeply through the chest. Leaving the Greatsword to pin down it's hands, I rushed with my other sword across it's body towards it's head. The dragon grew frantic, and tried to throw me off by spinning in the air wildly. I burried my slicer in it's collarbone and held on. It went on like that for a while, then noticing my surroundings on nearby towers, I used what my beloved had dubbed 'Hero Time'.

Pulsing my magic on my mind, feeling the gentle caress like flowing water, I increased my perception to extreme levels causing everything to slow down. I saw us flying in between buildings. The dragons head is out of view but his wings are not. And so I casted 'Greatblade Phalanx' two aimed at the wings and one on my hand. My innate knowledge of magic telling me the spell is ready. I waited for but a couple more seconds and then I released the swords. I saw one sword fly towards one wing pinning it against a nearby tower, and the other I sent like a frisbee, spinning towards the other wing and cutting the membrane. Renderring it useless for flight. I slowly felt the body of the dragon jerk, with one wing pinned against the tower. The tower buckle against the dragons pull, I ran towards it's head with my slicer dragging across it's neck. I saw fire pool out of the deep cut, realising it must have tried to breath fire.

Left with no recourse, it instead tried to devour me. I let go of the slicer and gripped the greatblade feeling the spellblade against my skin. I dodged the head with a spin and burried the greatblade right through it's temple. Seeing the light drain from it's eyes, we the begun to fall. I then jumped off of it with an 'air burst', (AN: it's what I'm gonna call this move of his now.) I landed with me sliding acoss the roof on another tower.

Turning off my 'Hero Time', causing a small headache, one I ignored for now. I could use heal and remove it entirely but I feel like I'm gonna need all the magic I possibly could.

Seeing the dragon fall to the lava, I couldn't help the smile on my face. 'I killed a fucking Dragon!' I felt it again. A rush of excitement, I don't care what it was but I ain't complaining.

"Hahahaha" I then begun looking for Elise.

Looking to the far edge I saw Elise had already slain two dragons. I then jumped across the lava unto the floating platforms and ran to her side. When I landed on a large trak of land I forced into engaging another dragon.

This one more of a giant aligator that has three tails. It's armored parts have teeth or claw like protutions. But it's joints are exposed. It's only slight smaller than the first one.

Hearing an explosion I saw Elise, I notice her move like a ballerina, dancing across the field. She releases small burst of fire on either her toes or her feet to propel her outside of their range. All the while throwing spellblades and lunching magic arrows at them. She was adding spins to it, either by throwing those blades like a frisbee or like her arrows spinning like drills. Making them far more versatile.

" ...beautiful."

She looked towards me and smiled. My instinct kicking in, I slid to the side as a giant tail slams against where I stood.

" ...oh..." yup... I forgot about this guy.

I readied my greatblade. I dodged to the left, then to the right as tails kept coming at me. It was keeping me at a distance. When I stepped too close, it came at me with it's claws. I slid sideways again but a tail was waiting at me, forcing me roll to the ground, where other tails wait at the ready already. I dodged several times, until I noticed a light attack coming at me. I parried the tail's attack, causing it to hit another. I used 'Hero Time' again. Seeing the opening. I summoned four Grateblades to his three tails and one more in the ready, aiming the former to the exposed joints. I then reshaped greatblade in my hand into a large arrow, all the while forming Loretta's bow on the other.

Returning my perception to normal. I powered through the headache and aimed. The dragon staggers because of it's tails causing it off balanced. The first three blades then flew to the joints making it release a gurgling roar. I released the last blade towards one hand pinning it against the stone ground as I pulled at the arrow string, it then looked to me enraged and opened it's mouth to breath fire. I then released the javelin like arrow straight at the roof of it's mouth into it's brains. A squelching noise followed as blood spurted everwhere.

It struggled for but a few seconds and then fell with a loud thud. The platform begun to crack so I then turned around and was about to start walking towards Elise, but after taking my first step I stopped. I drew another magic arrow and released it towards it's eyes into it's brain.

No reaction.

'I had to be sure' is what I thought.

As soon as I saw Elise she had just cleaved a dragons head with her flaming greatsword.

I just gaped at the sight of her surrounded by five dagon corpses.

She looked around looking for more enemies. Not seeing any more dragons she took a deep breath, only then did she notice me. Seeing me standing there like an idiot, made her laugh. I like her laugh. We were then disturbed by nearby roars.

We sent each other weary smiles. We fought a few more but suitably weaker.

After dealing with those creatures, I then casted a cleaning spell on her as she did me. And soon we were at each others embrace. We thought to rest for a while.

(---------------------------LINE BREAK------------------------)

Elise POV

I couldn't help but laugh at him, being so down about not killing more dragons. I just simply peppered him with kisses. This tends to happen when I'm involve with his thoughts. Him not realising he killed two dragons. The first one three times larger than those five I killed, and the second only slightly smaller. His 'manly side' as it were, would not allowing him let me take on the biggest burdens. And so as if in instinct, he ends up jumping towards the biggest trouble when he knew we had to face it.

We found a nearby room, a blast of cleaning spell and we had a comfortable place to stay. I dragged him towards the large sofa and laid him down. I then threw a fireball at a nearby fireplace, lighting the room.

I just snuggled there. Him spooning behind me minutes later. Taking in each other's prescence, I felt content. I felt it's enough. I had thought about just living and staying there with him but I cannot. Not yet. Not when he gave a promisse to the gods.

I held his hand, with mine as he embraced me from behind. I teared up at it. Both saddened and hopefull. As my thoughts strayed at what The Mother had promissed me.

'We can be a family, as we should have been. My beautiful girl, you will join us soon.'
