Two bright red sofas and two pink single

chairs formed a semicircle against a large

window that could easily pass for a door if it

had been downstairs. A big plasma

television perched on the opposite wall in

permanent rest. Even though it was regarded

as the family living room,it was the most

underused part of the house.

On one side of the wall was a huge framed

picture of Mr & Mrs.Chibuikem hanged on

the wall. It was their wedding picture which

both couple preferred that it stays in the

living room as part of decorations.

At the edge of one red sofa sat Ikenna

facing directly towards the position on the

TV which was showing premier league

match between his favourite club Chelsea vs Arsenal, which was a London derby and it was playing live on that Sunday afternoon after they had returned from church. He was watching the match alone but an outsider would think they were three people watching it,as he would always soliloquize telling and pointing at one player's error and the other. At times, he would shout when his team would play a counter attack pass inside the opponent's box with the attempt of scoring a goal but failed.as this was going on his father came inside the living room dressed up to leave for his office.

."Where is Obinna?" His father asked.

"He's in his room sleeping, he has been complaining of a headache since we returned from church today so mom told him to sleep in order to cool off his head".

With some iota of disappointment written all over his face, as he already knew he would now be accompanying him to the site. "Hope he has taken his medication?"

"Yes Dad".

"Since your brother will not be going with me to the construction site I want you to go in there and dress up , you will accompany me instead". Before he could finish what he was saying, Gabriel Jesus,the new player they bought through the transfer window from Manchester city ,scored a goal from about 23yards outside the eighteen yard box. Ikenna couldn't fathom if it was because of what his father was telling him that moment made a way for the opposition side to score that critical goal. At once he got up with a face looking pale and the fact that he won't see to the end of the match, went straight into the room and came out within some seconds and they drove off in Chibuokem's SUV sport car.

"Stay right here in the car and wait for me to go and greet our chief director before we can now go and see the workers''. He said this to Ikenna as they drove inside the company, then he left immediately. An hour passed yet his father hadn't shown up, "could it be that they started another meeting from the greeting?or could it be that something bad had happened...."? No no way he said in his heart, as those thoughts were swimming in his mind he decided to go and confirm if anything is still in place. As he was walking directly towards the staircase that led to the office,he overheard one voice telling the other "let's get rid of his body" but the second voice objected that they should call his wife and tell her that her husband slumped and died as a result of overstress. Knowing fully well that the man was being strangled to death by them from the conspiracy they had together in order to take away his position in that company. Ikenna was terrified when he heard this and the door was opened in a blurry manner but Ikenna had sharp eyes that could see things that were not well cleared. On that stand,Mr.jude the mastermind ,who was telling the others what to do with the corpse, observed that someone was eavesdropping on them. In a twinkle he reached the door and opened it just to see Ikenna trembling in his trousers. "Seize that boy"!!! He thunder.

Swiftly and fast ,Ikenna took off and ran for his life. Luckily for him he escaped from his prey and found himself at their compound late in the night. He was breathing nonstop as he managed to drag his feet inside the house. "What!!!" The deceased wife screamed in agony. "My husband!What did I do to this world that they hate me so much?I know my husband in and out that he can never hurt a fly nor take what he doesn't keep.so why..why....why him?!! She wailed as she spoke those words. "I Know my husband didn't offend those ones that murdered him, I know he was innocent"!

She continued crying and her children too joined her, since no one was there to console them.

An hour passed, Mrs.Chibuokem managed to overcome the predicament by allowing her son Ikenna to detail every single thing that happened earlier that day.

"I knew it, those beasts! out of jealousy killed my husband and wanted to cover it up with lies". "Mama let's go and report him to the police!" Obinna suggested. "You 're right Obinna but we don't have the evidence to take up the case with him in the court, he will deny it blatantly if we do" Mrs.Chibuokem said.

After some minutes a thought came to her mind.``tomorrow morning will shall be evacuating this house because it's no longer safe for us ,since Ikenna said that it was Mr.jude that masterminded it and him too know our first son Ikenna,so he will try to send an assassins to come after us in order to cover up himself". "So all of you should start packing your clothes,we will be leaving here by 3am in the morning in order to meet the train that is going to my mother's village in warri ''.

"U couldn't catch a little boy that cannot even win a relay race!? So what else can u do tell me"? Mr.Jude thundered as he slapped the man he sent after Ikenna.

"Now take your boys and head straight to their house in Maza-maza @no 122 street, that's his house,make sure you silence every soul in that house and don't come back here without good result "!

"Yes sir" then he left. He was restless panting up and down as he issued those orders to the assassin.

Chibuokem's wife with her children was almost catching up with the train as one of the assassins pointed in their direction"look at them let's catch them"! Immediately Ikenna observed their move and alerted his mom and his younger ones to rush inside the train. As they were running faster one of the assassins knew that they wouldn't catch up with them as the train was already moving so he pointed his gun in their direction and shot twice but unfortunately one of the stray bullets hit Mrs Chibuokem and she fell as she tried to enter the train with her children. On that ground the train was already moving faster than before as the Children watched their mother lying on the rail, tears gushed out of their cheeks as the speed of that train had already accelerated to the peak.

Seeing what has happened, the head assassin remembers what his boss told him that he must wipe out every souls. he waited there for another train in order to fulfil his mission.

After some hours,the train arrived at the station where late Mr&Mrs Chibuokem's children will now go down and head to a bus that will take them to warri in delta state, but then something happened as Ikenna saw those group of gang that were after them earlier ,in a second thought he wondered how they managed to get there before them . As everyone was already getting off the train, Ikenna alerted his brother at once.

" Obinna, you have to take our sister with you and run as fast as you can to the bus stop ,find a cab and take off to warri", he said those words quickly and as he handed fifty-thousand naira he had with him without sparing any for himself .

"But bro, what will now be your fate if we go without you?" Obinna asked with tears still flowing down his cheeks

"Don't worry about me I will be alright, I will definitely find you guys''

"How" Chinenye asked.

"On the 31th of this month, you guys should wait for me at Warri bus park. I will be there to meet you, now Obinna go go go..."

"Ok bro," hugging them tenderly .

Instantly Obinna and her sister took off, then Ikenna had no other choice but to tug his head outside the train window to alert them to chase him in order to distract them from finding his siblings. Instantly they ran toward the slowly moving train about to speed up and started chasing after him from door to door of that train till they reached the final exit that was open " so you think you can outrun us?" The head assassin gloated at the young boy who had no place to run to again. Suddenly Ikenna penetrated through the exit and jumped off the fast moving train. At this, the assassins were horrified how a boy could take such a risk.

"No cause for alarm, after all two souls have been eliminated" said the head assassin as they zoomed off.

Some hours passed late in the night, a mercenary who was coming back from an indaba sighted a lying body beside the road through the aid of beams of light reflecting from his car head lamp.

"Stop the car!" The brigadier general ordered. "Go and check if it is human"

"Yes Sir"..He dashed out at once

"He is still breathing sir!!"

"Bring him with us at once!". "Ok sir"

Immediately he bundled the young boy that was lying unconscious and put inside the first-aid vehicle which was behind them in case of emergency and they zoomed off.
