Goodbye, mother

I can barely remember my mother. The last time I ever talked to her was 3rd grade. My last memory of her is not the best, and I wish she had never done what she did. If she hadn't, maybe we'd still have the ability to talk, maybe I wouldn't be so mad at her, and maybe I'd even be a little more happier.

From what I've been told about my mother, she's manipulative and a drug addict. Now, I don't even know all of this for sure because of how long it's been since I've seen or talked to her, but I'll take their word.

My parents had divorced when I was around 2 years old. She had visiting rights for a while until one day, she had got them taken for good.

I've heard this story from my dad and stepmom once, as they were explaining how much my dad cared. I don't ever remember this happening because I was pretty young.

My mom had my big sister and I for the weekend. My mom tended to make up an excuse as to why she couldn't take us back home. My mom lived a state away, so you can imagine how annoying it is for the woman that wants your kids, to keep them a state away. This happened numerous times, until finally my dad and stepmom decided it was enough. They drove several hours to come pick us up and when they arrived, my sister and I were practically alone. They asked us what we had to eat and my sister said that she split a pop tart with me that morning, keeping in mind it was late at night now. My parents left with us quite furious, and got us McDonalds on the way home.

My mother had lost her visiting rights after this event took place, but we could still talk over the phone. This was until of course, she lost those privileges too.

I do remember this happening, I remember the disappointment for me and my mother.

One day, I was talking on the phone to my mother. It was super casual and nice until started asking some more suspicious questions. She started asking how I felt about my newer family, then asked if I wished I could live with her. Of course I said yes, why would I say no to my mother? Then, the exact statement that got her privileges taken, "I will take your dad to court and will get custody over you, we can all be a happy family again, but you can't tell your dad."

I was only in third grade, I didn't know that what she said was a lie. When I explained to my sister that we'd all be a happy family again, she took me to my dad. I don't know what happened from there, but I never spoke to my mother again.
