Revenge Plan

Martin smiled and nodded, doing his best to hide the confusion and awkwardness swirling inside him.

Vincent, who was still folding another flawless plane, glanced at Martin. "I know it seems strange now, but trust me there is a reason for all this," he said, adjusting one of the creases on his plane with precision.

Martin nodded again, though he wasn't entirely convinced. His mind was still racing, trying to figure out how folding paper planes was going to help him become a more efficient assistant. But he had no other choice but to go along with whatever was going on.

Time passed and the number of carefully crafted paper planes had increased.

"I think we are done for the day," Damien said, admiring the paper plane he had just crafted.

"Alright then," Vincent got up. "I have a meeting to attend, I'll see you both later."

As Vincent left the room, Martin got up, thinking the plane making session was over. But to his surprise, Damien remained seated.

Damien set the plane down carefully on the table. "You think I'm wasting your time, don't you?" he smirked, leaning back in his chair.

Martin hesitated. "I wouldn't say that exactly," he answered cautiously. "It's just different from what I expected."

Damien chuckled, leaning forward again.. "Good. I don't have expectations. Expectations are for people who want to be average, predictable. Here, we don't work that way."

Martin swallowed hard, unsure how to respond. He could feel the weight of Damien's words, but he couldn't really grasp the meaning behind it.

Damien glanced at him, reading his expression. "Go home, Martin. Take the rest of the day off."

"Huh?" he frowned, not understanding what Damien meant.

"It's your first day and you have been through enough." Damien patted his shoulder. "Go home and rest."

Martin wanted to turn the offer down but seeing how determined Damien was to give him a half day off, he agreed. "Okay boss."

After seeing Martin off, Damien slumped on his chair. He had already completed the one important meeting he had with the Beckers and had nothing significant to do for the rest of the day.

He opened his laptop to check his inbox, hoping for an acceptance email from the Beckers. But when he did not find one, he felt a little disappointed. He couldn't really understand what was stopping them. Despite making such a good offer, what was taking them so long?

Damien wanted the deal at any cost. He didn't care if the deal would cause his company a loss. His main motive was to put Fredrick Enterprise out of business.

He clenched his hand as rage filled his heart. He had waited for this moment for so long. He had made all the preparations. This deal with Becker Enterprise wasn't just business, it was the final move in a game he had started long ago.

The Fredricks had no idea what was coming, but Damien had been preparing for this for many years. Taking away the Becker contract from Fredrick Enterprise would cripple them, and Damien would finally get what he wanted, watching Fredrick's empire crumble.

His jaw tightened as his mind raced, considering every angle, every possibility. He couldn't let the deal slip through his fingers. At least not now when he was so close.

Taking a deep breath, Damien leaned back in his chair. He had been in control for this long, he could wait a little longer. But his patience was running out, and if the Beckers didn't respond soon, he would make sure they understood just how important this deal was.

One way or another he would get what he wanted.
