An Accident!

Julia walked back and forth in her agent's office while the old woman talked to her so-called husband on the phone. Echo's face was already wrinkled and coupled with an anxious expression on her face. She almost looked like she had gained ten more years.

At this time, Julia just knew that Victor was probably forcing this woman to do something she didn't want to do. She grimaced and pulled the phone from the woman's hand as she spoke in a harsh tone, "Listen to me, Victor. If you can't talk to the elderly with a good attitude, you just should f**k off and die!"

Victor's angry voice echoed through the speaker of the phone. "So that's why Echo wasn't listening to me. No wonder she called me for such a useless thing."

"Didn't you hear what I just said?! Don't trouble her anymore!"

"Then you should do what I ordered you to in the first place," said Victor. There was a smug smile on his face.

Julia looked at the old woman's face that was covered with drops of sweat, and gritted her teeth. "Fine. you better compensate me well for overworking."

"Sure. in your dreams!" The man hung up the call.

Julia stared at the screen of her phone in a daze. Did that man just say what she heard? In your dreams?

Her anger went so high that she gripped her phone tight. That person must have taken an oath or something to make her furious all the time! Did he want to make her sick out of anger?

She took a deep breath to calm herself down and glanced at Echo. "Let's start working."

Just as the old woman was about to nod when Rose came forward with a cell phone in her hand. Her face was full of anxiety as she looked at her boss. "This….I think you should get this."

Julia frowned when she took the call. "Hello?"

"Mrs Bush, we know you have just gotten married, but when will you pay us? The due date passed a long time ago, and we still haven't gotten any money. Do you want us to reach the court?" A male voice echoed through the phone.

Julia stiffened as her entire body froze. Right, how could she forget that she still had to deal with these people? She cursed under her breath and softened her voice. "You see, I was going to call you. I'm going to pay you today!"

The male voice also softened the tone at this time. "Well, that's good. I expected you to say that. Don't go back on your words this time."

"Sure! Don't worry about it!" Julia's voice was extremely humble.

After she hung up the call, she threw the phone on the couch and glared at it before turning toward her assistant. "Let's go and deal with this man first."

Rose nodded and trembled after seeing her boss's expressions. She didn't dare to refuse as she walked out of the office after her boss. This was the first time she had seen her boss angry like this!

The two of them reached the apartment soon enough as Julia took out a book of checks from her cupboard. Then she jotted down one million in it and signed it before handing it over to her assistant. Since Victor had already paid her ten million in her account, she didn't have to contact him for the money.

In any case, she didn't want to talk to him at this time.

Afterward, she walked out of her bedroom and handed the check to her assistant. "Take this to Mr. Hamilton's office."

Rose nodded and opened her mouth after hesitating for a bit. "What about others?"

Her father had taken a loan for his gambling matches from almost ten people in the circle. So she would be left with only half a million after paying it all off in a go! She couldn't help but curse her father in her heart.

The man used to be dependable and honest all his life, but why did he change after her mother died? She would never understand that.

After taking a deep breath, she said, "We will handle those after dealing with Mr. Hamilton."

Rose nodded as she walked out of the apartment. Julia also followed as the assistant turned and gave her a questioning look. The singer just opened her mouth and said, "Drop me to the recording studio."

The girl nodded as the two of them walked out of the apartment and entered the car parked in the lot. They drove to the office first as the assistant dropped off her boss. The place of that rich person wasn't far away from here. So she wasn't worried about reaching late since they had an entire day ahead to pay the money.

After crossing an intersection point of three ways, she had just turned the car to the right side when the car was suddenly hit by a truck. The impact didn't cause an accident, but the truck pushed the car a few feet back before it hit a random story, destroying the table full of fruits placed outside.

Rose's entire body was frozen as her heartbeat increased rapidly. She glanced outside in a hurry only to find out that even the truck was standing still. She thought about whether to open the door or rush the car to the destination first to pay the money. Just then, someone tapped the window of her car. She glanced to the side only to see a police man standing there with a frown on his face.

Now, Rose had no other choice but to get out of the car. She sighed and walked out as she spoke: "Officer, I'm kind of in a hurry. I'll file a complaint later."

To her surprise, the officer shook his head. "You have to do it now because it'll qualify you for the compensation."

"But I don't want any compensation." Rose had a bad feeling in her heart as she wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible.

The police didn't move. He just stared at the little assistant's face and said, "Ma'am, we know you might be rich, but we still have to do our duty. Please, come with me to file a complaint."

Rose hesitated and nodded after a second. It would only take a while. What could go wrong while filing a complaint against a truck that almost killed her?

Just as she was heading to the side of the road, a man came running toward her and bumped hard into her body such that she gasped as she fell to the ground with a thud. Her eyes widened as she stared at the person in front of her.

The man's face was covered with a black cloth, and he glanced at her before he dashed off.

Rose was stunned after seeing what was happening today. She frowned as her hand subconsciously reached out to her pockets where she had placed the check, only to find it missing.

Her heartbeat nearly stopped at that moment.

What the heck?! Just where did it go?
