Doubts about the Plan

The Orbs had telepathically told all that no harm would come to them. The entire physical work of the planned task would be executed by Mono. They would just need to help him, if their help was deemed necessary.

Mono had the power of 3-4 persons. He was like the biggest and best wrestler, 'The Great Khali' from India who had taken the world of wrestling by storm. Khali was only 7 feet 1 inch tall, but Mono was 7 feet and 7 inches tall. After completion of their plan, the trekkers would be sent back to their City B or where ever they wanted to go through secret wind tunnel. They would reach home faster than they would if they trekked their way back. The Orbs, when they were humans, had used this system to travel to the city above to circumvent the Administrator's restrictive laws.

This was indeed a good thing. The group would not need to look for ways to get home and get delayed in the process. Anyway, they were supposed to reach the school by tomorrow evening. Come to think of it, today was the third day. They should be on their way for home early tomorrow morning, but how could they manage everything?

Luke spoke to Mono, "We all need to discuss this plan of yours among ourselves as I cannot take decision for everyone." Saying this Zia, Sherpa the students and Luke made their way back into the tunnel to chalk out their course of action after discussing among themselves.

"Look we either help these guys willingly or they will make us accept their decision," opined Sunny.

"Yes, we agree," said Ben and Danny.

Zen and Chris looked at each other and agreed with the opinion expressed by Sunny.

It is the 'TINA' factor, meaning 'there is no alternative', so we all agree with what the boys have decided on the issue," said Zoya.

Zia said, "If we do not agree, then we can have problems. Their technology is more advanced than ours. I doubt that they will harm us or anyone in our City. But, it is better to do what you think is right rather than doing something wrong and have the reaction boomerang on us."

"I agree with you Zia, we need to keep the image of the people of our city in mind. Yes, their technology is advanced. But you cannot know what action they will take if we do not agree to help them." Luke voiced his concern.

Not to be left behind Sherpa said, "They only want us to be there may be as a moral boost. We do not need to do anything. Rest time will tell."

"That is settled but there is something that is unsettled, can someone tell me what happened to the 7 scientists who went out for a bit?" asked Nanu.

"They have not returned and what if they return to see us all discussing the plight of their projects etc?" remarked Zoya.

"They will catch us and tie us up, then call their police, what else?" replied Cathy.

"They will not only arrest us but they will produce us in front of their cruel Administrator to decide our fate." responded Shana.

"I do not think I would want to meet that horrid person. He seems to have a few screws loose in his head." Tina replied.

"Luke Sir, I think we need to find out what happened to those 7 scientists who seemed to have left the cave leaving Mono to manage the Time machine etc?" asked Sunny.

"Ok, everyone lets go and inform them that we will help but no killings by anyone and that we will not lift our hands or feet to torture anyone," said Luke.

"Is that OK?"

"Yes, Luke Sir!"

They all left the tunnel and Luke informed the Orbs as well as Mono that they were ready to help but there would not be any killing by anyone and that the group would not lift their hands or feet to harm or torture anyone.

The Orbs and Mono agreed to what the group asked of them.

Luke then inquired, "There is one question that is on our mind, where are the 7 scientists who had left via the outgoing tunnel?"

"None of them have returned and neither you, nor the Orbs seem to be worried about them returning and catching us here?"

Mono started laughing, "They are not likely to come back till you go to your world."

"Meaning!"

"Nothing much, I think we will let my grandfather's Orb explain to you what is going on."

"How is he going to go about doing so?" Luke asked.

"Just close your eyes and tune in like you did when the Orbs had encircled you," was Mono's response.

Luke closed his eyes and tuned inwards. He could feel the presence of a very good person near him and felt his name to be Juan. That person tried to speak to him.

"Don't worry, we don't mean to harm anyone. We are peaceful souls who have been tortured even after death. We just want all our people to see reason and stop others being tortured." The Orb replied.

"To accomplish our aim we need to take drastic steps like destroying the Time Machines and removing some unscrupulous people and putting them behind bars."

"Let me make myself clear. My example is what transpired with most of us scientists. It is not only in this Town M but in the other towns of I, J and K also. Town L was destroyed by the Administrator as the scientists and the people had revolted. The Administrator did not want the revolution to spread to other 4 towns. He got everyone massacred like Hitler massacred people in Germany."

My wife belonged to your city. I could not bring her here, so I had to live in the city but after our child was born, she contacted a viral infection which was not getting cured. She slowly started to deteriorate and ultimately she died. I wanted to bring her here to treat her, but the Administrator did not allow."

"After her demise, I had to come back to our Utopia, as there was no one who would look after Echo in the City above."

"Echo and I managed our lives back here in Town M. Then Echo became a scientist too and started working on the same project as me. He got married to Lisa, a girl, running her own farm at Town I, Mono is their child."

"I died and my brain was removed and added to the huge brain. After 3 years Echo also died and his brain was added to the huge brain. My grandson, Mono after completion of his education also became a scientist and joined this same project. After Echo's death, Lisa went back to her town to work on her farm."

"Echo brain was removed and his brain joined the big brain. That huge brain was becoming very crowded. When your student accidentally stepped on one of the brain's wires/ nerves, the huge brain got damaged and it started to shrink. We, the living parts of a dead body, got released as energy or as Orbs. We had been living as brain power for the Time Machine experiment. But we will never let Mono or any other scientist join such a torturous experiment or anything similar to it."

"Now about those 7 scientists, Well… they are still there outside the tunnel behaving as statues."

"What? You have the ability to turn people into statues?" he asked.

"Can I share this information with the group? They all need to know." Luke inquired.

"Of course!"Juan replied.
