"Byran Holding, You are being officially selected to come for an interview at Carlton's technologies, tomorrow 8 am sharp with whatever documents you have for the post of the Personal Assistant of the CEO"

If Bryan wanted to hide his surprised expression, he failed woefully at it as his eyes snapped up to look at the older man in disbelief, that was definitely not what he was expecting to hear, if anything he was expecting the worst as he had seen in all those movies where he was being paid off to stay away from his sister but this was something else entirely and if there was something he did know, it was that Mason Carlton was a man to be feared, his unpredictable actions had confirmed that for Bryan

Mason checked his watch and realized it was getting late,he actually wanted to get out of here as soon as possible but he wasn't going to let that show as he cleared his throat and that seemed to snap Bryan out of his train of thoughts

He caught himself but Maon didn't miss that look of surprise as she smirked, he was holding the upper hand here, he knew that before he came with the deal, Mason Carlton never starts a negotiation where he lost and this was one of those negotiations, he had thought about his as he slept ,or rather tossed and lay in his bed, he tried to piece moments together and also wanting to take Evan's words, he tried hard to put caring and being protective on his actions and he finally decided on this course of action

All he had to do to keep being protective of his sister and prevent her from getting hurt was take control of the situation and keep who he thought or believe he hurt her in his sight and that was this delinquent who he just offered a job, Bryan Holding.

Bryan noticed the slight smirk on Mason's face and frowned slightly but regained his confidence as he questioned the CEO

"and why would I come for this interview? I have school!" He lied through his teeth and Mason chuckled at the lie and he was glad knowing he had a secretary that gets the job well down

"Because you don't have a school to go to" Mason replied with a firm expression then handed a document that he had gotten from the school where Bryan was expelled to Bryan who frowned more and more and crushed the paper in his hands looking up at the CEO in a bit of anger

"That damn school has no bounds, just how they hand over someone's life to a stranger.."

Mason smiled "Someone like me is no stranger. The Carlton's name is a legend in this country and when you approached my sister, you must have known that, right? if otherwise, you are dumber than I thought"

Bryan let out a breath as he ran his hands through his hair then bit his lips as he pondered on what to do

Yes alright,he was a delinquent,but he never exactly grew up the right way or in the perfect society with the best parents,no he he lived alone literally,his parents never cared for him but he tried and grew to be tough,he went against the odds of life and tried to be a scholar,he was brilliant and he proved resourceful so much that he was given a scholarship to college where he met Mason's sister,how they became friends was another long story ,but then he lost the scholarship just as soon as he was arrested,his sponsor pulled away almost immediately and Bryan was left alone again, Ofcourse no one really knew his whole story.He had been struggling to get a job except from the odd errands he ran in the community, but no one in what seemed to be the business world would hire him, so this job offer was actually a great opportunity for him but Bryan knew the CEO definitely had his own reasons and the way it was presented know it would be tempting to Bryan affected his ego.

"All this just to get me to stay away from her? a bribe right?" Bryan chuckled, thinking he had the man's intentions in sight.

Mason chuckled as he dialed a toll car services number

"You are going to be paid your salaries after the month end you know?I am not trying to hand you a stack of money,I'm a businessman and a brother so you are wrong, this is just a way to shake up a delinquent like you into being worthy of being her friend. I love my sister that much"

Bryan was silent ,deep in thoughts as Mason talked to the toll services and discussed the details

During the call,he had to ask

"Where's here?"he asked Bryan

"The driveway of Lower East Side,sir" The bad boy replied with a smirk that Mason didn't understand.

After giving additional details and making some payments,Mason was finally done and he ordered a uber, taking his briefcase from his car, the toll car services agents arrived and helped him take his car away to be fixed.All through this, Bryan had gone silent,Mason noticed and he knew it

Beneath all these countenance of his,it seemed there might be a reasonable human down there.

Just before Mason got into his Uber that arrived soon enough

"What if I don't show up?" Bryan asked in a low soft voice

Mason smiled and got in the car before he replied

"You will."

he said and slammed the car door shut

"Where to?" the Uber driver asked

"Home." Mason replied.
