Trapped in a Fantasy World

~CONTAINS PROFANITY- read at your own discretion~ My name is, well... was Melanie. Let me tell you a little about myself before the 'big change.' I grew up being less than average my whole life. I was not the pretty, popular girl at school. In other words, I am a NOBODY. Because of this, I devoted my life to books and worked at a local bookstore. Everything changed when we received a batch of old donated items, something seemed... off. I suddenly fainted when I opened one of the donated books. What's going on? Where am I? and why is there such an attractive demon emperor in front of me ready to kill me?! ______________________________________________ Since reincarnation/fantasy books are usually targeted for a younger audience (teen-young adult), this will be an easy-to-read book. Simple and casual. I update daily~ Volume 1 is finished and will soon work on volume 2. Thank you for your support. The book cover illustration and original characters belong to me.

"So ahh… your name isn't really Camellia, huh?" She questioned while looking around.

I continued to look down without a response.

"If you really are the princess, doesn't your name start with an 'A' or… 'O'? What's that name again... Alarlie? Omara?"

"Its… It's Amara... Amara Luz De Giodivonia." I responded in a low voice.

"That's right! That name! It's been a while since I last heard it! I was a tiny little thing when I heard about your birth… Kinda sad, huh? It was supposed to be a joyous day for everyone. I remember all of the towns were supposed to gather and celebrate your birth when we heard her majesty was in labor. May her soul rest in peace… But ahh... Well… yah know…" She said as she turned around, looking down at me.

I clenched my jaw, trying to hold my tears back while looking down at the pavement.

"Hey, ahh.. let's head over to the moon show. I am pretty sure one of your knights will be there." She instructed as she grabbed my hand and began walking towards the busy street.

She is either brave or careless. To touch me so carelessly even after knowing my status. If one of trashman's knights sees this… she would have her arm amputated. Or worse, she would be decapitated off the spot.

I froze in place and snatched my hand back.

She quickly turned around, expressing an irritated face.

"Please, refrain from touching me. Suppose a knight or my father spots you touching me in any kind of way in this specific situation. In that case, they will get the wrong idea and possibly harm you without hearing our explanation." I explained.

She smirked and nodded gently.

"You royals aren't as bad as I thought. Follow me then, and stay close. This is the busiest time of the year. It is easy to get lost amongst these crowded streets."

As we walked through the busy streets, I looked in all sorts of directions, in fear of getting lost again.

Damn it. Why did I have to be stuck in this tiny body?! It is such an inconvenience.

"Just a bit more, and we will be in the middle of the town. I am certain they are looking for you there. Hurry up, kid! You are going to fall behind!" The tall girl explained as she shoved her way through the large numbers of people.

I began to speed up the pace as she started to jog out of the crowd.

As I managed to follow her out of the cluster of people, A large hand reached out and picked me up within seconds.

"HOLD THIS COMMONER DOWN!" The angry man commanded as he held me gently in his arms.

"Do not fret, Princess. We will alert his majesty that we have found you. Are you hurt anywhere?" He whispered as he patted my back like a newborn.

Confused and scared, I looked at the tall, curly-haired girl being manhandled by two knights wearing cloaks.

I turned back to the knight in terror.

"Let her go!" I yelled.

"Princess, please stay calm. You are misunderstanding the situation. His majesty is on his way. Please, remain calm." The knight responded with a calm whisper.

I looked around my surroundings, only to see many civilians looking at us with fear and disgust. Their eyes were clearly judging us.

"That poor girl."

"She must have stolen something. Suits her, right!"

"Doesn't she look like Maurciel's daughter?"

The loud gossip ran through my ears all at once.

"Let's bring her along… She was clearly blackmailing the princess. You and you, make sure you tell the crowd of people to move along with their business. Let's not expose the princess more than we need to. His majesty is waiting for us inside a room in a pub nearby." The knight commanded four other knights by him.

Both knights, who held the girl by her arms, and the knight who carried me both walked into an alleyway.

"LET ME GO! I DID NOTHING WRONG!" The curly-haired girl screamed as she struggled in the knight's arms.

"SHUT YOUR FILTHY MOUTH BEFORE I BREAK IT, YOU DISGUSTING SCUM!" one of the knights threatened as she twisted her arm.

"AUGH!"

I quickly turned around when I heard the girl yelp in pain.

"STOP IT! WHY ARE YOU HURTING HER!?" I started hitting the knight with my tiny balled up fists onto his chest.

A random door from the dark alleyway quickly opened.

"Amara!" A deep voice echoed from behind.

I got grabbed out of the knight's arms and into a warm embrace.

Damn… he smells good. Wait… is this the trashman?

I looked up, only to see a heavenly sculpted face made by the gods. Except he didn't have his usual careless expression. His expression… is… different. Is he worried? Does this man actually have feelings for me?!
