Chapter Forty Seven: Drama

Valerie gently shook the goblet of wine in her hand. It was really reddish and thick that it almost looked like-

"It's not blood, Val" Aiden whispered in her ear and she nodded and placed it down on the table.

They were currently seated in the dining room with Aiden by her right and Gaia by her left.

King Alonz sat opposite her with Astrid by his right while the rest just sat anywhere else

Suddenly, the king clears his throat "So, human, how do you find it here? Much to your liking?"

Valerie furrowed her brows when she heard him call her human, but she said nothing about it "It's beyond me honestly, I wasn't quite expecting this"

"Oh really? What were you expecting then?"

"Well, not much, I would say maybe ancient caves all around"

The king momentarily stopped eating which made Valerie panic. She hoped she didn't say anything wrong, but the king just continued eating like nothing happened.
