Chapter 43: Intercepting A Pack Of Dessert Wolves

[Outskirts Ridges]

On the outskirts far off south of the Duke's territory, Shun together with four of his champions are now lingering as they waited for the pack of dessert wolves that are about to take a hit towards the Duke's Territory and might cause death and destruction to its citizens

The four champions that he summoned are the following Garen, Katarina, Kha'zix, Rengar

The first two Garen and Katarina are with Shun down on the surface that serves to block the incoming pack of Dessert Wolves, while as for Kha'zix and Rengar they are using the environment to their advantage as the hid behind those Rocky formations

The latter pair serves as to engage inside the enemy's forces and has the mission to get rid of their rear immediately, while for the former pair that is together with Shun serves as a stopper for the entire pack and has a mission to hold it's ground

Shun still plans to summon more champions later on, he did this with the thought of not showing all his cards in one move

He secretly left the Duke's manor during the night when everyone are now either preparing to go to bed or spending their own quality time to enjoy themselves

By using Ghost I didn't take long for him to reach his destination on the outskirts and face the incoming pack

Even thought he could have the aid of the Duke, he still decided to handle this alone for only one reason "Exp", if the Duke's men help him, he in turn would lose a lot of exp for himself which would be a bummer

Plus he's expecting to level up after taking into account the number of this densely pack enemies

"How many are they?" He asked

"About two hundred densely packed wolves" answered Katarina

"Is that even considered a pack? It's more like a small army!!!" Commented Shun as he raises his brows

At that question Katarina sternly looked at him as she replied

"Relying on Rengar's report, the small army that you like to call is made up of at least three huge pack of wolves that resulted in them being joined together" she explained

This time instead of Shun, Garen himself spoke up as he placed his hands on his chin as if thinking

"Joined together? Such actions can only be considered if such fowl beast are being led by a leader... . . Like that frost elf person a month ago"

"Well we should expect a monster that has intelligence appearing up... . . But I'm quite surprised that your actually using your brain, I thought you were more like a bronze type of a guy" reacted by Shun as he stared at Garen

"That's... . . That's absurd!!! Even a knight of Demacia has to have at least knowledge of some sort or else the enemy might rear is from behind and take over Demacia" rebuked by Garen

"Well I thought the same like master" said Katarina as she actually smirk at Shun's comment on Garen

After that Shun immediately arranged his statistics and prepared to intercept the enemy

Right after that he immediately received a mission from the system I which he haven't even heard for a very long time

Eliminate the incoming pack of dessert wolves and it's leader before it causes destruction

Seeing the reward Shun immediately brightens up as he read it as exp boost, for some time now he was having a hard time leveling quickly to gain more champions since he's just leveling up

With exp boost on his side he could quickly level up and gain more champions faster, he even wondered on what's his level cap and based on the number of available champions he deemed it atleast that he would reach level 100 or more to get all of the champions

With that thought in mind he finally manage to see the silhouettes of the small army like of pack of Dessert Wolves from afar

Deciding to face them head on Shun stepped forward and equipped Botrk his very first item with both Katarina and Garen at his either sides

Seeing three bold human's trying to hold them off, the dessert wolves like unintelligent beast they are, howled in unison to alert about the enemy's presence and charged forth without stopping

"Garen! Kata! Get ready! Garen be the tank for us and charged through the Frontline, kata take out the rear that tried to circle us, while I will try to lessen they're numbers as much as I could" ordered Shun

"Roger!!!"

At that Garen hold vertically his huge sword as he roared forward with both Shun and Katarina behind him

"For Demacia!!!"

As two sides collided Garen immediately hacks the very first wolf in front of him, but due to the thickness of the enemy's skin, he in turn felt like he was slashing a huge chunk of tree which ache his hands with just one strike

Seeing that the wolf in front of him was still left alive, he tightly gripped his sword as he slash it across it's chest three more times before killing it

Taking a hd of its limp body, Garen uses the first wolf as a meat shield as he push it against the crowded section of the wolves

"Haaaahhhh!!! You damn fowl beast!!!"

But when he did that two dessert wolves immediately jumped from the side as they took a bite on its hardly armoured shoulders

Seeing that Garen held his sword horizontally as he activated his skill simultaneously

"Courage!!! Judgement!!!"

By activating two skills, not only did he received a bonus armor to make himself tougher, but he also retaliated as he spins to break off the enemy's hold on him and blew them away

After that he held his sword upward and quickly thrusted it towards the ground with both of his hand

"Demacian Justice!!!"

With that shout a huge sword of light descended from above causing shockwaves and debris to blow up upon it's crash sending multiple wolves to fly off away from him and see unlucky ones getting killed

"You damned wolves!!! Come and get me!!!"

With that taunt Garen charged forth as he dived on the thick sea of densely pack wolves, completely devoted to his role as a damage dealer tank

Not so far behind him Katarina uses her "Shunpo" skill multiple times to immediately teleport towards her enemies while also dodging the incoming pounce on her since she's not a tank at all

If she did a mistake, she would inavertedly cause her own demise, so in order for this not to happen she herself would quickly assess her surroundings whether it is safe or not to avoid being eliminated on this fight

As she run forward she immediately conjured a dagger ad she uses her skill after she threw a dagger

"Bouncing Blade!!! Shunpo!!!"

By throwing a knife first she immediately hits the shoulder of one of the wolves and with her ability the "Bouncing Blade" she utilize this as the dagger that she threw next hits the previous dagger's hilt and bounces towards the wolf near it and completely hitting it head instantly killing it

By using "Shunpo" she landed on the first wolf that she striked and pulled the dagger out of it's shoulder and repeatedly stab its neck to kill it

When the wolf died she instinctively uses "Shunpo" again as she dodged the pounce of another wolf in a nick of a time

As she teleported away she immediately uses another of her ability the moment she caught the dagger that she threw upwards prior to the movement

"Preparation!!!"

The moment she retrieved her dagger her passive immediately kicks in as she slashed furiously at the three wolves around her and instantly killing them

On Shun's side however he quickly ran up towards Garen to give him support but the moment he did that some dessert wolves also uses the terrain to provide them an advantage to circle the enemy

As one wolf attacked him, he immediately countered it's attack by parrying it's bite and immediately slashed its sides

But due to to the enemy's thick hides, the damage that he did was lesser than he thought

Flipping his Botrk he quickly engaged the wolf again and this time efficiently moved quickly to avoid it's attack as he removed it's ability to stand when he sliced off its limbs quickly as possible

With just four quick strikes he successfully brought the wolf against the ground and stabbed it's forehead

After that he immediately pulled out his Botrk from the corpse and dashed forward killing more dessert wolves as he made his way towards Garen at the front

When he was about to reach him three wolves pounced on him from who knows where that made him instinctually to move in unison in order to survive the attack

But this in turn caused him to drop the summoning book from his jackets pocket and slid between him and the wolf that has noticed the book as it growled at Shun

Shocked for a moment, Shun immediately snapped out of it's daze as he pushed himself towards the book, but as if reading his thoughts the wolf in front of him similarly aimed to where the book laid in order to catch him off guard

But luckily since shun got a head start he successfully retrieved the book the moment it hits the tip of his finger and immediately slides against the hard Rocky ground straight underneath the dessert wolf

Putting everything on his legs he roughly kicked the wolf upwards causing it to land on its nose

After that he quickly stood up and slashed behind him, just in time to parry the fangs of another wolf that intended to bite him off

Next after parrying the wolf behind him, he quickly pushed this aside and strike the the head of the wolf that sneaked up in front of him right at it's skull with the hilt of the Botrk

Using this as leverage he pushes himself upwards to land behind the wolf and stabbed it behind

Just right after he pulled Botrk out another Dessert wolf pounced behind him and bit his left shoulder, not intending to give any leeway for him to take a rest

"Gahhh!!! He shouted

This shout however reverbrated out that made both Katarina and Garen to notice him

Just as the wolf pinned him down by biting his shoulder and blood gushing out from it, Yuumi immediately came to his rescue as she attentively removed the wolf off Shun's shoulder

"Master!!! You damn beast! Take this!!! Rapid Prowling Projectile!!!"

At that Yuumi fired off more than dozens of Prowling Projectile towards the enemy causing an endless waves of explosions to occur, killing some of the unlucky ones

After that she floated beside Shun and healed him

After easing him up a bit Shun pulled out a health potion and poured it at his wounds causing it to heal immediately with immense pain

"Kuh! Damn that hurts like hell!!!, It felt like I was bitten by a huge dog" stated Shun

"Felt bitten? You idiot! Your are actually bitten physically!!!" Retorted Yuumi in anger as she continues to hold off the enemy

"That was a joke" grumbled Shun as he noticed something unusual

Immediately he grabbed Yuumi and rolled forward just in time to dodge a pounce from dessert wolf behind them

But the moment he looked ahead he was immediately pounced again by a wolf on top of it and slapped Yuumi away from him

When that happen the wolf tried everything it could to bite off Shun's head while pinning him down

I'm order to survive Shun immediately held Botrk horizontally and blocked the could stench of mouth coming from the dessert wolf that is baring it's fangs at him

As he struggled Against it, Katarina suddenly appeared behind the wolf and rode it from behind as she slit off it's throat causing it's blood spray on Shun

"Damn it!!! That was disgusting pweh!!!" He said as he spotted some of the blood that got smeared on his mouth

Wiping the blood off his face he saw Katarina's haggard expression as the latter just smiled at him

"Quickly we need to save that idiot!" Said Katarina who is reffering to Garen

"I know! I know!" Shrugged Shun as he held his Botrk

At that both of them charged again towards the group of dessert wolves as they intend to support Garen

As the fight on the front was getting intense, both Kha'zix and Rengar finally made their move as they brandished their weapons and jumped off the rocks to land in the middle of the densely pack wolves that is running below them

"Savage!!!"

"Taste Their Fear!!! Void strike!!!"

With the activation of their skills they successfully created a hole on the enemy's formation as they hacked down atleast five of the enemy when they secured their own kill

"Let's have a competition" suggested Rengar

"Competition? What kind?" Asked Kha'zix

"The hunter that has the most kill is the strongest" said Rengar boldly as he flipped his bone dagger

"Kekekeke! Most kill? I hate to break it to you but that's my expertise... . . Let's do it!" Replied Kha'zix after boasting a bit

"Hah! I'll show you how a real hunter moves" rebuked rengar

At that both of them started their mass killing spree on the enemy dessert wolves, completely unable to notice that something was actually observing the from afar with it's intense predator eyes
