Chapter 39: Warming Up
[Kartrik City, Dyke's Territory]
Nightfall inside the city was like a festival that never ends, as many people walks around and hangs around with their friends and comrades to spend the night together with others
At night many kinda of organization can be seen active during it's period, organization such as black streets, slave merchants, auction houses, and brothels goers
As prosperous as it is during the night, it can also be considered a dangerous place by ignorant people who doesn't know how society works at all
Sometimes ignorant people got raped, beat up, stolen, captured as a slave, or worse killed without anyone noticing
As the daughter of the Duke and the sole heir to their own household, Sephiria Maelstrom was especially not ignorant of this things, as curious as she is, she still held her guard up even when she is alone
Even if she has a hard time conjuring magic, she still could take her deficiency to cause an opportunity for her during the panic to escape, she was full of confidence of her ability to protect herself
Normally that how it should go, unluckily since mages, sorceress, druids, or people who uses magic is like common as many stars in the sky, such evil intent organization has their own way to deal with such people
As Sephiria roams the city during the night, a group of men notices her due to her unique trait and her princess like looks, having a noble in the city was normal, but having a lone noble without any guards is a rarer chance for such people
Since Sephiria's looks can actually attract people despite her deficiency of inability to conjure magic, she could almost pass as an idol in the original world and become a celebrity in one night
With her looks even though she has deficiency she can still be considered as a high product for her status as a noble
As she looks around the place Sephiria's eyes grew brighter and brighter as she takes in, this brand new scenes inside her, she always wanted to come here as a child during the night but since she's the only child of the household, she in turn always has guards protecting her nearby which in turn sour her mood
But this time there is no guards at all, meaning she can do whatever she want even if she wants to stay inside the city for the night
During her roam she goes around exploring the wondrous activity of the city until she stopped on her tracks as she stared at the huge path beside with a sign hanging of Red Light District
Everywhere she sees she could see noblemen and commoners especially even knights on off duty, walking around this streets with one or two girls on their arms
The girls in return wore such exquisite and bold clothing that barely revealed their tights and chest areas
She could also see some men going inside a high rise buildings together with a women in their arms, while the girls however could be seen everywhere on the street trying to attract any men to be their partner for the night
For a hero of an household Sephiria clearly knows what kind of place this is, so with casual steps and blushing face, she turns her attention elsewhere as she backs away and plans to return to the market place
Unfortunately a group of four people covered her path with a smile etched in their faces
Clearly this group was attracted to Sephiria as she notices their lewd gazes at her
"Who... . . Who are you?" Ask Sephiria as she prepares for any possible actions
"You... . . You're a noble aren't you?" The man in front of her asked
"Such high quality dress and equaled it with your blonde hair and red eyes which seems like to shine during the night, such etiquette can only be either a noble or an aristocrat" he added
Hearing this Sephiria started to backed away as she looks around trying to come up with a plan to escape
"What do you want?" She asked trying to buy some time
"Me? I want you... . . If you follow me and be my woman, then perhaps I can spare you for the night... . . I know what your thinking"

"Your planning to escape using your magic right? Such tactic is already common along this streets so you better fess up" he snarled
Hearing that Sephiria didn't waste any time as she started conjuring her magic that she knew would fail and explode, the explosion however will be used by her as an escape chance away from such people
When magic was starting to form up on her palm, the person beside the guy that she was talking with suddenly raises his staff and enchanted a silence spell causing her magic flow to deminish
"What!?!?" She exclaimed
"I told you it's useless, trying to escape... . . So what do you say?"
When the thug like person actually said that Sephiria started to sweat profusely at her disadvantaged situation,with her plan foiled she somehow started to panic inside but still kept her composure as a true noble
When things was about to escalate, another group of people suddenly approached them as the dandy person boldly stated
"My oh my!!! Such delicate and high-quality product... . . Do you think thugs like you deserve such product? You must be out of your mind" said the dandy person
"Huh? Who are you?" Asked the thug like person
"Me? I'm a sole richest slave merchant! I'm quite taken by the girls beauty that somehow I want to acquire her for myself, with her in my possession I could literally show her true value and even heightened her beauty!!!" Claimed the dandy person
"Shut it! We all know that such person like you will only have fun exploring every nook and cranny of any girl this attractive! Don't compare me to a naive brat! Now scram away!!!" Growled by the thug like person as he motioned his men to prepare to engage
"My! Such unsightly being!!!" Reacted by the dandy person as he waved his hand telling his men to prepare to engage
Seeing both sides trying to intimidate the other, Sephiria even thought that such beauty was like a curse, even thought the same beauty such as her's that attracted men couldn't even attract the prince she dreamed off
From a building few blocks from her, Rengar successfully managed to trace the tracks of the Duke's daughter, upon locating her he immediately called telepathically to other summoned champions which is only unique towards their group, such function was only possible after the system upgrade
"Found her!!!" Reported Rengar
"You did? Wow! Looks like your nose isn't for decorations at all!!!" Taunted Kha'zix
"What did you say?" Roared Rengar in his thoughts
"Nice job Rengar!" Praised Garen
"It's no fair! You guys have high mobility compared to me a mage! Look! I just made it barely at the entrance of the city!!!" Exclaimed lux
"Sorry for your loss lux, but if you have any time... . . I can teach you how to run faster" suggested Katarina
"Really? Thanks big sister Katarina! You're more reliable than my brother" exclaimed lux
"Hey! What the meaning of that wording? Lux? Kat?" Asked Garen in great confusion
"Anyway! We need to retrieve her!" Reminded Shyvana
"She's right! Immediately report it to master telepathically" reminded Yuumi

Back inside the Duke's manor, Shun received a report from Rengar and immediately instructed Ryze to use his ultimate to bring them there
"Realm Warp!"
Without further ado Ryze immediately activated his ultimate to immediately bring Shun towards Rengar's location

As the two groups started to engage against each other, both parties held a person in charge to look out for her to ensure that she wouldn't escape during the commotion
When she thought that she backed into a corner, a warm hand suddenly crept up on her shoulder that startled her
"Hiiiihhh!!!" She reacted
But the moment she turned around she saw Shun behind her quickly covering her mouth and shushing her
"Are you crazy? Don't react like that!!! I'm not a molester! It's me Shun! Let's go!" Whispered Shun
"Huh? Escape? Are you not going to handle this like a true man?" Ask Sephiria feeling that Shun's entrance was somehow lacking
Clearly since she always hears Shun's voice day and night conversing with her, she didn't even hesitate to follow him since she clearly k ow that the person was actually Shun just from his voice
"Huh? Don't bring up that be a man thing! Do you think I'm a hero? Hell no! I'm an adventurer not a hero, and plus please don't bring up that Be a man thing! I yearn for gender equality!" He whispered
Hearing the unusual whisper the men that are trying to fight over Sephiria saw her being pulled away by a third person, reacting immediately they started to chase them down relentlessly
Seeing this Shun felt a headache started to form up on his forehead as he try to escape them, without further ado he picked her up in a princess carry which startled Sephiria, and started to dash forward
Carrying Sephiria in his arms, Shun immediately went into an alley and used it's walls as a stepping stone to enable him to climb up by jumping side to side
As he landed on the rooftop he could see numerous thugs and slave merchants guards trying to fire at him with magic
Unfortunately after jumping from a roof he immediately used Kha'zix ultimate to turn him invisible with Sephiria with him, causing him to easily bypass the expecting people and leaving the city grounds

During the pathway Shun let down Sephiria and walked a little bit in front of her as he caught her hand and pulled her
With this action Sephiria felt that Shun's action was quite bold for she knows that such contact can only be done by people who are engaged or people that are married, yet Shun himself is holding her hand and pulling her as if such etiquette never existed in the first place
As for Shun he clearly has no idea of such etiquette and thought that this simple action is quite common in his world, this to ensure that Sephiria wouldn't run away again, he immediately held her hand for security
During the walk they both stayed silent as Shun walked in front of Sephiria leading the way
"You know what? Your actions really caused me some trouble... . . But at least in this way, I manage to atleast see you for even a bit after three days of no eye contact... . . And here I thought you planned to be a hikikimori" stated Shun
"What?!?!... . . Don't think such actions of your would let me be at ease with you... . . " Replied Sephiria
"Oh come on! I save you butt back there! At least be a bit grateful for it!" Exclaimed Shun
Hearing that Sephiria started to calm herself
"... . . Fine! I'm grateful that you saved me"
"See? That's what I'm talking about! Come on! Praise me more!!!" Said Shun
"Don't push it!" Reacted Sephiria
"Eh? How about a little teensy weensy praise a little bit?" Urged Shun
"....."
With no reply at all Shun finally went silent, and with that silent Sephiria suddenly thought about Shun's claim of helping her improve her conjuring magic abilities
"Hey! I'm sorry if I waited you for so long... . . But now I'm ready! Are you still willing to help me improve?" Asked Sephiria as she felt embarrassed asking Shun after trying to drive him away
"Huh? You thought three days is long? Don't belittle me! Waiting every week for an episode of your favorite show is more of a challenge than a merely three days"
Hearing that Sephiria was quite astonished by his words as she started to laugh
"Hey! What's so funny?" Reacted Shun
"Oh sorry! It's nothing! It's just... . . The way you reacted was quite funny!" She said
"Is that so? Then continue laughing" shrugged Shun
"Wa... . . Why? Are you not disturbed about it?" Asked Sephiria
"Why would I? Seeing you laugh is much more calming than seeing you pout and shut yourself all day" replied Shun
"Is... . . Is that so..."
"Yeah it is! By the way... . . I heard you have trouble making friends" said Shun
"... . . It is as you said... . . Due to my inability to conjure a simple magic, the once close friends that I consider in the past started to avoid me" she said as she felt dejected just from remembering it
"Isolation huh? Not a big deal at all... . . Well if you ever need a friend I here!" Said Shun
"Huh? Friend? Who? You?" She exclaimed
"Well duh! Who else is here except me?"
With that Sephiria finally started to smile as tears swelled up and her quickly accepting Shun's request to be her friend
"Thank you!"
"No problemo!"
With that exchange the distance in relationship between them shrink a lot as they started to form a bond of friendship with each other
Unfortunately the moment they returned they weren't lucky at all, the Duke got the wind at the situation maybe due to the maid and reprimanded her daughter while thanking Shun for bringing her back
Seeing her being scolded and looking at him for help, cause him great pain and sorrow as he apologized, seemingly a maid must have Informed the Duke after checking the situation of the Duke's daughter

Next morning Shun adruptly entered Sephiria's room as if it was normal and woke her up from her bed by shaking her body
"Uhh! Shun? Why are you inside my... . ."
Before she could finish she immediately realized that she was in her night gown as Shun was standing in front of her smiling brightly
With their situation Sephiria felt embarrassed as Shun saw her attire, but instead of looking away and blushing, Shun brightly exclaimed
"Alright lady Sephiria! Let's start your training to improve today! We need to catch up since three days have been wasted trying to comfort you! Get up! Get up! Lets move! Time is running!!!"
Hearing his nonchalant reaction and wording
Sephiria felt like she wasn't attracted at all and deliberately being ignored even though such cliche scene is happening currently
With fist being clenched Sephiria slapped Shun by the cheeks while shouting at him
"Don't suddenly barged in someone else room!!! Idiot!"
