Chapter 31: The Hunter and The Hunted II

[Within The Forest]

Whirling the bone dagger in it's hand, Rengar proceeded by unhesitatingly stabbing the dagger straight for the head of the frost elf, with the intent to kill

Sensing it's impending doom, the frost elf immediately tilted it's head to dodge the dagger by a hair's thread

By purely missing it's target, the lycan's used this chance to pounce at Rengar and engage at a wrestle match, as they stumble across the floor

Quickly standing up, the frost elf has a furious expression imprinted in his face at it stares daggers directly at Rengar

"You little... . . Don't think that I can't magic!!!"

Imbuiding it's own dagger with ice magic, the frost elf dashed forward and sent a slash directly at Rengar

After ripping the lycan's mouth to half, Rengar saw a wave of ice magic aimed at him, in response to this the latter immediately dived sideways

As if expecting this the frost elf immediately spun around and sent a backward slash which was met by Rengar's own bone dagger which he used to block the attack

Taking a stance the frost elf immediately dashed forward as it jumps and sent barrages of attacks directly at Rengar, using only its own dagger

Due to this Rengar received it's full brunt of attack causing him to stabbed to its shoulder

After that the frost elf sent multiple dozens of ice Lance directly at Rengar

"Ice Lance!!!"

"Ice Lance!!!"

"Ice Lance!!!"

Relying on its own instincts, Rengar managed to dodge most of it's attacks while receiving some injuries across his body

Looking at Rengar's disheveled figure, the frost elf couldn't help but laugh and mock Rengar due to his circumstances

"Bwahahahahaha!!!! Pathetic! A mere cat thinks he can go toe to toe with this great me? It's absurd! Know your place insect!!! I lead an army of monsters, and with my own intelligence... . . I can destroy any town I want"

But in return to his haughty statement, Rengar only laughs at his claim

"Hahahaha! To think a trash can dream to itself being a god... . . It is unheard off, but let me remind you... . . Your just a trash that gained intelligence, nothing else... . . Other than that is just pure trash" taunted Rengar showing a sheepish smile

With taunts clashing against each other, it's quite obvious that the frost elf who is nowhere adept compared to Rengar regarding this kind of thing, was the first one to blew up in rage

"You damn mongrel!!!!"

But before he could retaliate, Rengar immediately smirked as he said

"Also... . . Let me remind you that I'm just stalling for time"

"What?"

As if that was a notion a whistle sounded up from afar, signaling Rengar that they escapees managed to return safely thus ending his forestalling

As if to realize that, the frost elf immediately ordered it's monsters to attack Rengar

"Kill him! Quickly!!!" He shouted

When he shouted those words, an orc quickly crept up behind Rengar and swung it's cleaver straight at him

But before the attack could take a hit, the latter itself immediately made a sly grin as it activated it's abilities

"Thrill Of The Hunt!!!"

As it swung the orc was left a dazed as he hit nothing but air and Rengar's presence was nowhere to be seen

At first the frost elf has panicked due to Rengar's disappearance, but later on he realized one particular thing he said

-stalling

When he remembered that, he widened it's eye's in surprise as it immediately turn blood shot and ordered all it's monsters to pursue them immediately

Within the woods Rengar undid it's stealth as it continued to run beside Shun

"Whoa! You're quite beaten up!" Stated Shun

"I just let my guard down" replied Rengar

"Yeah! Yeah! That's what they all say" mumbled shun as he continued to run

Not a moments later a huge wave of monsters pursued them from behind, shocking both of them in surprise

"Damn! That frost elf is persistent" complained Rengar

"What did you even do?" Shouted Shun in complaint

"What?!? I just outwitted him... . . That's all! He is weak after all" replied Rengar

"No wonder he's mad" retorted Shun as he continued to shout

After glancing for a bit behind them, Shun immediately stated something to Rengar

"Looks like I have to use my secret power"

"Power?"

"Yeah!!!" Declared Shun

Very quickly Shun spun around and formed numerous hand gestures in a quick pace as he shouted

"Katon! Goukakyou no jut..." (Fireball jutsu)

But before he could finish his words, Rengar immediately pulled his collar as it roared something directly at him

"You damn idiot!!! Just shoot the damn ability or something! Don't do something akin to a ninja or somewhat... . ." He roared

"Ninja or somewhat!?! Let me remind you that certain ninja happens to have a sharingan and a rennigan" pouted Shun

"I don't care!!! Just shoot"

"Fine! Fine! Whatever... . . Flame breath!!!"

As he shoots out his Flame breath, it's immediately encased the monsters preventing them to engage any further, due to this the frost elf flew into rage when he heard the report from of one of his monsters

"Damn it!!!!!"

Passing through the outpost which have already served it's purpose and evacuated all of its people, both of them decided to head straight to the town and inform the viscount

Form above the walls an adventurer spotted both Rengar and Shun arriving at an disheveled state and announce it to the Adventurers Guild and the viscount

When such news arrived, many of the crowd gathered to the entrance

When Shun arrived he thanked Rengar for his contribution and returned him to the book as he trudge onward

When he entered the walls, Millia the Viscounts daughter who seemed to label Shun as his big brother, ran up to him and gave him a hug

Of course Viscount Zack was surprised by this that he gave off a death glare directly to Shun

"You dare make a move on my daughter!"

When the Viscount thought of that, Shun immediately shook his head in denial and pleaded him with puppy eyes

Following suite Leah approached Shun and checked him for any injuries, while both Alex and Misha went straight up to him and ask his condition

Behind them Lana silently nodded her head as she release a sigh in relief for Shun's safety

"Why do you always get involve in this kind of thing?" Asks Lana

" I don't know... . . Maybe I'm a trouble magnet?" Asks Shun

"Sure bet'cha"replied Lana as she gave off an exasperated breath

Very quickly Viscount Zack approached Shun together with other leaders and the Adventurers Guild master directly at me

"Shun! We were reported that the monsters army have been found out... . . And you on the other hand stalled them for your members to return, so I presume that you have exchange some blades with the enemy... . . Can you tell us how strong they are?" Asks Viscount Zack

Glancing first to its fellow leaders, Shun immediately spoke up

"In case if their charge... . . Then it's normal, the only problem is the leader the first elf" stated Shun

"Frost elf? How come they're hear?" Asks Viscount Zack in panic

"He must have been exiled by its own kind" deducted by the guild master

Coherently Shun also agrees to the Guild master as he said

"That guy also has intelligence so that means we're going to fight this siege with quite different from monsters and more akin to human siege"

"Intelligence!!!"

The moment Shun said that the whole vicinity seemed to have been silence as they pondered that possibility of having a guerilla battle

"This is bad, really bad... . . Prepare our defences!!! Looks like we're going to deal with a troublesome opponent" stated by the guild master

In reply to that Viscount Zack also nodded as he commanded his soldiers to prepare for the possible siege and equipped it's soldiers for the pending guerilla battle
