Double Chapters day!

"Have all the ammunition been accounted? Is this everything?" M1 Garand sighed as she surveyed the scant few boxes of various ammunition in the warehouse corner.
"Why is there so little?" she wondered aloud.
"Yeah, it's all here. I've brought over everything we could move, but we didn't tally the ammunition each of us is carrying," MP40 replied, patting the magazine pouch on her waist. "Now, everyone has a different amount of ammunition on them, and counting each one would be too troublesome."
Nodding, M1 Garand observed the spacious warehouse and the meager collection of ammunition boxes, feeling disheartened.
Since their move, they could no longer purchase various ammunition types directly from the black market. Even sourcing raw materials was inconvenient, leaving them with only this small stockpile.
Renault had considered manufacturing bullets themselves in the past, but with the proximity of the black market, it wasn't necessary. Now, they were left with just over three thousand rounds of cannon ammunition and a larger quantity of 7.62x51mm machine gun rounds. In addition, there were nearly thirty thousand rounds of bullets for the firearms carried by the T-Dolls.
While this amount should suffice for several battles, the concern arose that they might not be able to afford such profligate use of ammunition in the future.
This meant that BM59 and M200, who were keen on training, wouldn't be able to spend their days firing endlessly. However, this was not necessarily a bad thing. BM59's ammunition was interchangeable with that used by the MG3 machine gun. The issue lay with M200, whose specialized ammunition was expensive compared to common machine gun and pistol rounds.
While IOP's ammunition printing device was an option, it was only one. Many others of its kind wasn't available on the black market. Even if it were, it would likely be significantly more expensive than purchasing ammunition directly.
"Well, let's leave it at that for now. Even if we wanted to buy more, we can't. I wonder what the Commander has been up to these days," M1 Garand remarked as she and MP40 left the warehouse.
"MDR mentioned something about the Commander working on a new core, intending to transfer our neural cloud," MP40 added.
"What? Is that even possible?" M1 Garand, who had been preoccupied with factory cleanup, was taken aback by this revelation.
The technology for neural cloud backup was relatively new, introduced by IOP just two years prior. Could their Commander have developed it in such a short time, within this rundown factory?
"Hey! M1 Garand! MP40! The Commander's experiment is about to start! Hurry up if you want to see!" C96 called out from the second floor.
"Coming! Wait for us!" MP40 said, pulling M1 Garand along as they ascended the stairs to Renault's workshop.
Upon arrival, they found the entire household gathered, including G36, who typically began preparing lunch by this time.
"Is everyone here? Then let's begin. Pay attention, as you might go through this yourselves in the future," Renault announced, prompting everyone to gather around.
"Why are so many people watching, Renault? Couldn't you just do this quietly?" Maria, the destroyer, nervously protested as she saw the crowd.
"What's the big deal? You can watch the recording later. Behave for now and decide who's going first," Renault replied.
"Me, of course!" Maria volunteered without hesitation, fed up with being relegated to watching others through the computer.
"Well done, Maria. You'll be the first test subject," Renault confirmed.
"Hold on! What test subject?" Maria's objection was cut short as Renault unplugged the data cable connected to her neural core, causing her image on the computer screen to vanish.
"Eh!" UMP40, who had been with Maria for almost two weeks, was startled by her sudden disappearance and instinctively moved away from Renault, as if to avoid having her own data cable unplugged.
Unperturbed, Renault placed Maria's slightly damaged neural core into a glass-like device on the table.
At the other end sat a new neural core, ready to receive Maria's data once connected by Renault.
As Renault pressed the start button, the group of T-Dolls watched intently, curious about the device's operation.
After a few moments, the only visible change was the illumination of several indicator lights.
"Is that it?"
MDR shook her head in disappointment. "I expected something more exciting than a few blinking lights."
"Commander, is this thing broken? It doesn't seem to be responding at all," RFB chimed in.
"Hmm? It's working fine. Can't you see the lights here? Green means everything's normal. Just wait, Maria shouldn't take long," Renault reassured them.
After about ten minutes, all the green lights lit up, prompting Renault to remove both neural cores from the device.
As Renault connected the new neural core to the laptop, Maria reappeared on the screen.
"What? Nothing's changed? Find me a new body! Sangvis is under attack!!!, and I don't have time to waste here!"
Maria pleaded with Renault, she just now vividly recalled the events at the Sangvis Ferri Main Factory before being transferred into this mental space.
