Stressed

Done with showering, Kazuya soon got out of the bathroom after changing clothes. After that, he walks down the stairs as the bathroom he used was on the second floor.

Walking down the stairs, he saw Kurumi still sitting on the couch watching TV on their living room. He walks over and sat beside Kurumi.

"Sigh..." Kazuya released a sigh which caught Kurumi's attention. Looking away from the TV, she stares at Kazuya with a confused expression.

"Why do you keep sighing? Even after you just got back earlier from whatever you did, is there some problem?"

Kazuya turns to her before replying, "I just discovered earlier that I still don't know much about this world...Imagine, I encountered some vampires which I didn't know existed. And if something like vampires exist, I think there's other like them out there. This world keeps getting crazier the more I stay in here." Kazuya lost his calm and started ranting before he gave up, "Sigh..."

Kurumi just smiles and says, "Don't worry about them, let's just focus on our life. Remember, the school will start again as the vacation is nearing it's end."

That got Kazuya out if his current state, "You're right, I guess I was just stressed by the things I encountered. Let's just relax..." He says as the two watched various shows shown in the TV.

Meanwhile the same night Kazuya encountered the vampires and saved Hijiri, said girl has just got home after her patrols. The house was a traditional japanese house, the area it covers is huge.

Entering the gate, she walks for a bit before arriving in front of the main house. Hijiri was welcomed by a beautiful girl with short black hair with same color eyes. The girl was wearing a classic western maid uniform.

The girl in maid uniform then bows after seeing Hijiri, "Welcome home, young lady" she greets Hijiri politely.

"Ah! Kaoru-san, I'm home!" Hijiri replies smiling, but then her expresion turned solemn. "Where is father? I have something important to tell him."

"Master is at his study, young lady." Kaoru replies

Hijiri nods, "Alright, I'll go to him then. You don't need to follow me, Kaoru-san."

Without waiting for a reply, Hijiri enters the house and went directly to where her father is. Arriving at the front of the door of the study, Hijiri knocks on the door.

*Knock *Knock

"Come in" A voice came from inside. Hearing the voice, Hijiri opened the door and walks inside.

Entering inside, one can see a man in his 40's sitting behind a desk full of papers. Like Hijiri, the man has black hair with same colored eyes.

"Father..." Hijiri says softly,

The man stops what he is doing then stares at Hijiri. "What is it?"

"I encountered vampires on my patrol, and..." Hijiri then proceeded to recount the story of her patrols. How she encountered vampires then got surrounded to how someone suddenly appeared and saved her.

"That's what happened, father...What do you think we should do? Should we inform the other families?" Hijiri asks

Meanwhile her father, Gogyo Kaen the current head of the Gogyo family was in deep thought. After a while, Kaen stares at his daughter and asks, "You said the name of the one who helped you was Kinoshita Kazuya, right?"

"Eh Yes! I think I remembered you mentioned the name Kinoshita once but I'm not sure." Hijiri asks

"I do know something, and I also think it's time for you to know more. The name Kinoshita is the surname those of the Mizuki clan has whenever they are out on their Clan grounds and they are the only ones who have that surname outside. The Mizuki clan has been around for thousands of years, they are a very powerful hidden clan which only the top clans knew. They are a mixed clan of warriors and omnyoujis. Though the things we knew about them are very few. But one thing is for sure, they are the guardians of the gates." Kaen paused for a few moments before continuing, "But to think you would encounter one of them. And by your description of him, it seems he is a warrior using ki and not an omnyouji using spirit power."

Hijiri on the other hand was shocked at what she heard. She just can't think that the carefree Kazuya was a member of such clan. But remembering his strength and how he easily killed off the vampires, she can't help but accept that fact.

"But if some of the Mizuki clan members are here, it seems a gate from that realm is on the verge of opening." Kaen mutters before turning to Hijiri. "Hijiri, you can go now."

Hijiri nods, "Yes father" she says before going out of the study.

Kaen, now alone in his study mutters, "I think I should tell the other family first then maybe set a meeting with the old master of the Mizuki clan."

Meanwhile, the topic of their talk earlier, Kazuya was sleeping soundly with his girlfriend unaware of the bits of secrets his family had.

"So this is Nangokuren?" An extremely handsome boy with silky short brown hair mutters. He wears the boy's uniform of Nangokuren which consists of a red coat with black linings which is worn over a white long sleeved school uniform. As part of the uniform he also wears a black neck tie with two yellow lines, a yellow belt, black pants, and black shoes.

Beside him was a beautiful girl with long black hair, wearing Nangokuren's girl's uniform. Both Kazuya and the girl, Kurumi currently stood in front of Nangokuren High which they will go to.

Nangokuren High School was formerly an all-girls school, that had only recently changed to co-ed. As such, the population of the school was comprised of 99.9% females. The literal translation of Nangokuren's name is (Manly Hell Forge) which is ironic as most students here are comprised of girls.

Nangokuren High School has an overly violent culture, and abides by the law of nature where the strongest survives, while the weak perishes. There are also students crowned as 'Dragons' in each year level which acts as the leaders of their year.

'Haaa...This is my life now' Kazuya thought while staring at the overly big sized buildings. Kurumi on the other hand looks around curiously.

She noticed the students looking at their direction but ignored them. She didn't see any males other than Kazuya though which she kinda understands as the school just became co-ed.

"Let's go, Kurumi." Kazuya says as Kurumi nods and the two proceeds to walk inside. But just walking for few moments, they heard an loud 'bang!'.

*Bang!

Explosive sounds were heard followed by some debris flying towards Kazuya and Kurumi's direction.

"Sigh..." Kazuya sighed and kicked the flying debris, destroying it immediately upon impact. 'Yep! This is Nangokuren when you just entered and there's already a battle going.' He thought as a wry smile appeared on his face.

Looking up front, he saw a battle going between two girls he don't know...yet. But he saw Meru watching the battle at the side a distance away from them while smiling.
