Transmigration: Return Of The Lost Heiress

"Ahh!" She suddenly sat up and looked around the room. She needed to look in the mirror to know what she looked like before concluding that she was... that she was in another person's body. The thought made her gasp, but then she turned to climb off the bed. However, her legs failed her, and she fell on the floor. "Ahh!" In pain, she reacted. The man wearing the black suit rushed to her. "Anna," he worriedly mentioned her name. "Didn't you hear what the doctor said?" He frowned. "What...?" Anna was mesmerized by his beauty, but this wasn't a situation where she was supposed to be admiring a man. "What did he say?" Anna whispered. For some reason, Anna just couldn't feel her legs. "How did…you know?"

Anna's attention was captured. In Anna's memory, she recollected very clearly that George's phone call was the reason she got caught by her enemies.

Anna also felt that the original host of the body was condemning George for her death.

Although she was very infuriated at her enemies, Anna felt hatred for George because she believed that if he had not been so adhesive, they wouldn't have caught her and she wouldn't have died.

Anna shook her head, shaking off the memory. The reality was that Anna wouldn't have died if she had been smart enough to learn that she was in a toxic relationship. Anna wouldn't have died if her boyfriend wasn't evil.

George looked away. "There are so many things you don't know about Wang Lixin, Anna," he sighed.

The only thing Anna recalled before her death was the evil smirk on Wang Lixin's face when he was accelerating the car in her direction. He was remorseless.

With that image replaying in her mind, the new Anna realized something. The first attempt at accomplishing something would always be difficult for one to execute. There would be hesitation and second thoughts but the look on Wang Lixin's face that night as the car light dazed her eyes mirrored the experience he had.

This apparently means that it wasn't the first time Wang Lixin had killed someone.

The realization caused Anna's heart to start racing and her head to start throbbing.

"Hey," George dropped the fruit he was eating when he saw Anna touching her head and bending to one side as if she was going to pass out.

George was more than ready to take Anna out of the house after a very long time of her being in a coma but he suddenly received a call and the call appeared to be very important to him.

"Are you okay, Anna?" George's calm voice was laced with fear.

Anna rocked her head. "I believe I am," in a low tone, she managed to reply.

"Wei Yan!" George called out to the lady standing a few feet away from them.

"Yes, Master!" Wei Yan ran close to them.

"Take Anna to the garden and make sure she enjoys the fresh air. Take care of her, I need to answer this call," George watched Wei Yan pushed Anna's wheelchair away from the table before walking away to answer the call.

In the garden.

Wei Yan had been doing her assignment by taking Anna around the garden for the past five minutes.

It was silent and the atmosphere didn't appear to be awkward as both Anna and Wei Yan had something in their minds that was troubling them.

Some maids cleaning the garden, however, were able to drag Anna out of the world she planned to cling herself to for a while.

Anna was determined to discover and expose the illegal activities her ex-boyfriend was involved in but now that she figured out that Wang Lixin seemed to also be a serial killer made her more persistent to find out who and who he had killed and why he murdered them.

With the look of everything, Anna realized that she didn't just have to find justice for herself but for others as well. And that seemed to be her mission after getting a second chance to live.

'Should I just quit working?'

'I can find another job'

'If my colleagues could join hands to attack me, they can do worse and might actually kill me one day and I'm the only hope my family have at the moment'

These thoughts and more questions kept on occuring in Wei Yan's mind. She was also lost in her thoughts and couldn't quite keep track of where she was taking her Madam.

However, Wei Yan wasn't able to conclude the action she was going to take against the way she was being treated by her colleagues because the maids cleaning the garden took her attention too when they greeted Madam Anna.

Anna forced a smile on her face as a response to their salutations. She then signaled Wei Yan who was behind her to carry on.

"Madam, how are you feeling now?" Wei Yan decided to put her problem behind her mind and focus on her job.

Anna sighed and lifted her head slowly to look at the sky. Wei Yan stopped moving the chair and looked above as well.

"It's bright," Anna uttered. "It feels like I've been in prison for a long time and now…" Anna paused to sniffle in the smell of the garden. It was the smell of a garden–peaceful and calm.

"...Divine!" Anna exhaled heavily. "I feel so good," Anna reacted with a smile on her face.

"I'd love to eat somewhere around here," Anna uttered after picturing herself in the corner of the garden, having a picnic.

"And I'll be delighted to help you set everything up, Madam," Wei Yan uttered.

Anna stayed quiet for a while. Wei Yan also tried to find comfort in the garden like her Madam was but she couldn't. Perhaps it was because she visits the garden every day and it wasn't something so new to her.

"What's wrong, Wei Yan?" Anna had noticed the changes in Wei Yan's attitude and expression when she entered the dining room earlier.

Wei Yan was surprised. Was she so obvious that Madam was able to notice that something was off about her?

"Nothing, Madam," Wei Yan answered.

Anna turned her face to the lady behind her. "You were so cheerful this morning but now you seem dull, something must be wrong," Anna tried again.

"I'm sorry, Madam. I guess it's because I wasn't able to get enough sleep last night," Wei Yan lied. She couldn't possibly report her colleagues to her Madam, especially when Anna just woke up from a coma.

"Alright, if you say so," Anna figured out that Wei Yan wasn't willing to share the cause of her dullness with her so she decided to accept her reasons.

Anna understood that if she was in Wei Yan's place, she'd do the same. "I like it when you are buoyant so get enough sleep from now on because I'd like you to be my personal maid," Anna announced.

Wei Yan, however, couldn't oppose. She loved that she received a promotion as her salary would increase but her colleagues made things difficult for her.

Wei Yan now feared progressing because of her colleagues' attitude towards her progress.
