Su Meng vs Yun Che 2

Meng used his cloud steps to the maximum while keeping the weight of his blood to an optimal level that wouldn't restrict his movement too much.

He took a step closer to Yun Che and immediately appeared in front of him, swinging his spear at Yun's legs. Yun calmly jumped over his attack and then immediately attacked Meng with his fist covered in fire. The fist that was aimed at Meng's left shoulder was dodged by just one step and Meng appeared behind Yun, kicking him but Meng sensed that his kick didn't cause much damage.

'His profound energy changed...he is much stronger than before and he seems kind of...barbaric, berserk?' Meng thought as he blocked Yun's fist covered in flames.

"Brother Su, please don't worry about me and feel free to go all out." Yun Che sensed that Meng was just measuring his strength. In other cases, he would think that Meng is just trying to play with him but from his battle experience, he could tell that Meng was closely observing his weaknesses and strong points.

"Alright, I think that brother Yun is ready to receive 'it'. Just be careful because I won't be using the same technique as brother Tie used in your spar." Meng said and pointed his spear at Yun who in return narrowed his eyes in focus.

Whispers were immediately circulating among everyone regarding Meng using other techniques than his fellow-clansman.

"The first move" Meng muttered and rushed at Yun, his entire spear was now covered in bright amber-colored energy. When he thrust forward with his spear, he was still some distance away from Yun to reach him with his spear but suddenly the same amber-colored beam of energy shot from the spear tip at Yun who widened his eyes before clenching his teeth and jumping to the side. Yun was able to step to the side at the last moment. However, the beam still grazed his shoulder and he could feel immense burning pain. The beam wasn't stopped but before it could hit any of the disciples from New Moon Profound Palace, Qin Wuyou stopped it with his palm.

'...That guy...he was able to get through my protective layer of profound energy.' Qin Wuyou thought with a darkened expression while looking at the small signs of charred skin on his palm.

"What was that profound skill? I have never seen it!" Everyone was surprised by Meng's technique that forced even the palace chief to take action for the safety of other disciples.

'Why is my shoulder charred?! Shouldn't I have complete immunity to fire attribute?!' Yun Che's mind was once again in disarray but this time, he wasn't the only one surprised.

'That energy! It's not a fire attribute technique. Although you have absolute immunity to fire, that attack contained pure energy of heat, it's even hotter than Phoenix flames but due to his low cultivation base, it's still too weak! You can't hold back against him, use that move or surrender!' Jasmine explained frantically.

"The second-" When Yun heard Meng's voice once again, he widened his eyes, feeling that another attack will be even stronger. He immediately decided not to hold back anything despite it being quite dangerous.

"Brother Su, please be careful!" Yun Che interrupted Meng who was about to perform his second move which made him stop since he had no idea what Yun Che was trying to do but he was pretty sure it was his last stand.

Yun Che closed in distance between them and then sent his right fist, a burst of violent crimson profound energy gushed out of his fist and exploded forward, intending to envelop the entire Meng's body

Meng just stretched out his arm forward and put his palm facing the attack which shocked not only Yun Che but also Jasmine.

*BOOM!* *WHOOSH!* The hall's floor greatly ruptured, and huge pieces of floor tiles were blown off into the distance behind Meng, and a violent wind-dispersed into all 4 directions upon the impact.

"?! W-What?!" Yun Che couldn't believe his eyes when the dust cleared up and revealed Meng in the original position as if the attack never even reached him, even the floor under him and behind him was completely fine.

'He fought the violent burst of energy with softness.' Jasmine explained with a tired sigh. Before Yun Che's Falling Moon Sinking Star skill actually reached Meng, she noticed a flash of the moon's projection right in front of Meng's palm. She couldn't believe that someone of lower profound strength than her disciple could comprehend all those things. She was aware of how Yun Che was talented but in terms of comprehension ability but Meng was probably much superior. Those were her thoughts however it doesn't have to necessarily be comprehension ability that Meng has an advantage in...This is his second life and this life is completely different from his first one which makes it harder to adapt but it gives him a broad view of all laws. It gives him numerous ideas that he once heard of in some stories, he has the advantage of having thousands of ideas on how to possibly grow stronger. All he needs is time.

There was dead silence and the only thing that could have been heard inside the hall was Yun Che violently gasping for breath.

"What was up with that power? Is that even normal for 1st stage Nascent Realm to release such a power?! What the hell is wrong with him?!"

"You are shocked by the power of that attack? I am more shocked why that little guy of 6th stage Elementary Realm took it head-on without getting injured at all!!! This defies both logic and heavens!"

When someone started talking, everyone joined in, discussing what just happened. This exchange already made most elders stand up and even Tie Zhancang was shocked how Meng came out of this exchange completely unscathed.

'S-Softness? Softness won against explosive strength of Falling Moon Sinking Star created by Heretic God...?' Yun Che couldn't understand what kind of technique Meng used as he kept staring at him in disbelief.

"Let us continue" Meng knew that Yun Che just exhausted a big portion of his energy but he was still capable of fighting so Meng decided to continue unless Yun Che admits defeat.

Meng swept his spear at Yun Che as he only channeled his energy into it without using any profound skills.

Yun Che clicked his tongue and used his movement skill to get away, leaving only an afterimage behind, however...

"I already saw through your movement patterns, brother Yun" Yun Che heard a voice right behind him and before he had time to react to it, he was struck by Meng's palm, sent flying across the hall.

"Agh..." Yun Che released a low groan.

'How come it didn't really hurt but I am barely able to move?' Yun Che thought as he could barely feel any pain from that attack but at the same time, he had a hard time standing up.

It was once again because Meng attacked him with his palm infused with pure Yin energy which had sealing and controlling properties.

"Brother Yun, your movement techniques are truly wonderous but you have to create more movement patterns. You have around 5 different movement patterns and behaviors. You choose from those 5 based on your opponent's speed, profound strength, and lastly techniques. Your thinking is truly wonderful but at the same time it removes your variability." Meng said as he pressed the blunt side of his spear against Yun's neck.

"Ha-ha, it's my loss, brother Su." Yun Che released a forced laugh before he conceded the spar, making Meng remove his spear from his neck, extending his right hand toward him to help him up and Yun Che accepted his help with a defeated smile.

'A killing intent? Heeh, I am interested if they will dare to come out or they will just plot something. Although, it's hard to say if it's meant for me or for Yun Che...maybe both of us?' As Meng was helping Yun Che back on his legs, he felt heavy negative emotions centered around him and Yun Che.

After this match, Qin Wuyou suggested that the matches should be stopped for now since the center of the hall was quite damaged already from Yun Che and Meng's exchanges. No one really voiced out any objections.

Meng returned to his seat and everyone from his clan praised him for a spectacular match, and obviously, they also asked about the move he used to attack Yun Che from the distance.

"Everyone, as you probably already guessed, I have my own master but he doesn't care about my matters regarding which sect I join or not. He just trains me and that's all." Meng said loud enough for even others to hear, to discourage anyone from having ill thoughts toward him.

"You little rascal, did your master come to our clan to train or why haven't you told me that you progressed this much?!" Tie Zhancang said with a satisfied smile while roughly ruffling Meng's hair.

"Hehe, surprise?" Meng released an awkward laugh before spreading his arms as if it was all planned surprise for everyone.

The banquet continued for a little while and Meng while sipping from his cup of wine noticed the same female disciple that was staring at him was currently helping Yun Che treat his injured shoulder. Meng continued observing the two for a little longer from the corner of his eye.

'...*sigh* Looks like Yun Che is that type of person, I have never been really good friends with such people but I still called some of them my comrades. Unfortunately, all of their love lives were just big disasters. Well, I can't really badmouth their love lives when I had none, to begin with, haha.' Meng thought with closed eyes.

When the banquet ended, everyone planned to return to their respective sects but as Meng and Tie Hengjun were about to leave the hall, they ran into Yun Che together with Xia Yuanba and the same female disciple.

"Brother Su! It's good to see you again!" Xia Yuanba said in a cheery mood.

"It definitely is..." Meng gave him a faint smile before he looked at Yun Che and the female disciple standing next to him.

"Hello, my name is Lan Xueruo. I would like to apologize for the misunderstanding from before, brother Su Meng" Lan Xueruo said with a kind smile.

Yun Che looked a bit confused by her words but he decided to ignore it.

"There was never a need for an apology. No harm done. Still, it is nice to meet you, sister Lan Xueruo" Meng shook his head with a neutral expression, making it for everyone hard to guess what he is thinking.

They talked for a little while before Meng excused himself and Tie Hengjun, however, before leaving, he asked Yun Che if they can have a small talk.
