They must be hurt because of me.

Mi Jo looked at her friend confused. What was Mi Soo saying this time around? That she was another person from province S?

Mi Soo held the young lady's shoulder and explained everything. "I was going back home from work when the bus got highjacked by some goons. Believe me, I'm not the girl in the mirror."

It was hard to make Mi Jo understand because it looked as though everything Mi Soo was saying at that moment was a fabricated story.

Mi Jo looked at her friend worriedly. If anyone found out that she was claiming to be someone else, they'd probably take her to an asylum.

"I understand. How about you just take a shower and rest for a while? After that, I'll take you to your family." Mi Jo tried to calm her friend down.

Mi Soo nodded, happy that someone finally understood her. "Are you for real?" she asked to confirm and Mi Jo nodded.

"Okay!" Mi Soo went to the bathroom to take a shower just as the young lady had requested.

Mi Jo went downstairs after her encounter with her friend. "How is she?" Mrs Kim asked but Mi Jo shook her head.

"It's worse than we expected. She doesn't even remember her face," she explained to the poor woman not knowing that grandfather Kim was there.

Mrs Kim broke down in tears. Losing her memory is hard enough but forgetting her identity as well is worse.

"What did you say?" he asked with a bold voice. "Are you saying my Mimi doesn't even know who she is?" he asked with a sad and worried expression.

He looked as though he was going to pass out any moment from that time.

Mrs Kim rushed to his side and supported him by holding his hand. "Father... You should seat," she suggested.

The old man sat but instantly looked five years older than his age. "What happened. What did she say?" he asked tiredly.

"She looked at the mirror and asked if we had her do a plastic surgery and she kept saying she was from province S and not Seoul," she explained.

The old man sighed heavily, "Don't tell anyone about what happened here. This should just be between us and no one else has to know, not even my son. I don't know what the public will say if they find out that my Mimi doesn't even remember her name."

They all nodded understanding how bad this could be for their family. By the stairs, Eun Hee heard everything that they said. She couldn't help but feel sad that she was causing them pain but at the same time, she desperately wanted to see her family as well.

She sighed softly and returned to her room. Soon after, a knock came from the door. Mi Soo snuggled under the blanket and pretended to be asleep while the doorknob cracked open.

Mrs Kim walked into the room and sat by the edge of the bed. She caressed Mi Soo's hair and then wiped her tears.

"I blame myself for not asking about your opinion and imposing marriage on you when you didn't want to marry Seo Jin. But you didn't have to jump that day. You could have told me that you weren't interested in him. I would I tried my best to convince you father..." her voice cracked and Eun Hee could clearly hear her hurt voice.

"But for now, I'll do everything in my power to protect you. Whether or not you remember me, I'll continue to fight for you." Mrs Kim paused for a while then leaned in and kissed her daughter's head before leaving.

As soon as the door closed, Mi Soo opened her eyes. She wondered what her real mother would be feeling as well. She wondered if her mother would have moved on and if her body was even found yet.

Thinking about this made her tear up. She covered her face with the blanket and cried to her satisfaction.

Hours passed and the family was having dinner but Mi Soo wasn't there. Mi Jo had also gone back to her home leaving grandfather Kim, Mrs Kim and Mr Kim.

Everyone looked distant at the dining table except Mr Kim who had an indifferent look. He ate as he pleased and didn't even behave as though he cared about the situation on the ground.

"Punk! How can you even eat that much in such a situation?" the old man asked while frowning at his son angrily.

Mr Kim sighed. "Would you rather the food went to waste?" he asked leaving the old man speechless.

"You..." grandfather Kim didn't know what else to say and just kept mute. Mrs Kim called a maid and asked if they sent Mi Soo's food to her.

"The miss said we she take it back." the maid explained. Grandfather Kim could not help sigh heavily. Mimi was always obedient and did whatever they said. Even if she was asked to dance in the rain she would do it.

Grandfather Kim stood up, "I'll go and check on her..." he barely finished his sentence when he heard light steps approaching the dining room.

He looked up and saw Mi Soo standing in front of him. Although her face was pale, she didn't look too distant as before.

Mrs Kim also saw her daughter and stood up. She walked up to her and held her hand. "Mimi... You didn't have to come down. We sent the maids to bring the food to you."

Mi Soo saw the happiness on the woman's face and couldn't bear to disappoint her.

Mr Kim was alerted by Mi Soo's presence and sighed. He picked a napkin and cleaned his mouth. His face was still indifferent as ever.

Mrs Kim led Mi Soo to the table and made her sit. "What would you like? Some rice? Kimchi? Vegetables?"

Grandfather Kim smiled. "Do you want to stuff her with food? Mimi..." he looked over at her then pointed at the chicken. "Would you like some chicken? These are your favourite." he had asked Mrs Kim to stop bothering the young girl but he was only resuming what she paused.

Mi Soo said nothing but in the next second, the sound of a chair being pulled out was heard. Mr Kim stood up and excused himself.

Mi Soo noticed that he had been like that since she woke up. She couldn't help but wonder if he was up to something or did he was just not like his daughter?

Grandpa Kim sighed then turned his focus on his granddaughter again. "Some chicken?" he asked and she nodded slightly.

He was happy to see her coming back to her sense once again. Even Mrs Kim couldn't help but feel happy that her daughter was finally warming up to them.
