Chapter 39 - Hunters.

Lulm stood inside a large hut made of wooden sticks and poles tied together by long stripes of grass to form the four walls of the hut.

The roof of the hut was thatched and made from the long and bushy leaves of the southern continent's western jungles.

Inside the hut were mud pots filled with herbs, parts of plants, stones and other natural resources of the jungle. Lulm remained on his knees as the red skinned shaman of his tribe entered the hut.

"Hmmm" The shaman nodded as he walked towards the pots and took a small wooden bowl along with a pestle which were beside the pots.

He took some leaves, stones and minerals as he began pounding the materials he had taken into the bowl.

He pounded the leaves first before adding the minerals and stones which were crushed under the force of the pestle.

After doing that, he proceeded to add a bit of rain water which he had gathered in another pot before pounding again.

After doing that he turned to lulm who was still on his knees and sat beside him.

He looked at lulm's marks before he proceeded to dip his hand into the liquid in the bowl which gave a reddish green mixture.

He traced the marks on lulm's skin using the liquid and when he was done he said to lulm "Rise tribe chieftain and let us go"

Lulm nodded as he rose from his position and followed the shaman outside the hut.

The hut was the shamans hut and it was always built in a secluded place from the rest of the tribe.

Outside the hut was a large bonfire made from the wooden sticks of the jungle stacked upon each other.

"Chieftain. Stand in front of the flames" The shaman ordered.

Lulm walked to the front of the flames and the shaman followed as he stood at the other side which faces Lulm and began chanting.

As he began to chant, lulm's marks began to glow even with the presence of the strange liquid.

Lulm stood on the spot as the shaman continued to chant untill the changes began to appear.

A portion of the flames suddenly rose from their point and headed towards lulm in a fluid motion. The flames continued to move as lulm felt the heat they were generating.

The flames moved towards his traced markings and merged with it. Lulm felt pain from the merging process and gritted his teeth.

"Pain is a natural thing but as a chieftain you must learn not to yield to it" The shaman said and continued his chant.

After a while, lulm looked at the newly designed mark on his body. The new mark had a symbol of a flame in the center of his diamond patterned marks, both which gave off a reddish orange glow.

"Wait beside the fire so that your marks can heal and form fully" The shaman gave out another order.

Lulm remained in his position as he got on his knees and after a while he closed his eyes. From the flames, a pair of red eyes emerged and looked at him.

Lulm sensed a presence looking at him and at that moment he opened his eyes to see the pair of eyes staring intensely at him.

"Quick reactions and senses. A skill worthy of a haran leader" A voice spoke through the flames.

"Ancestor. It is an honour to meet you" Lulm said as he bowed his head. He knew that the person who possessed that voice was his ancestor.

"My descendant i am impressed with what you have achieved. It takes not only strength but also wits to become a great leader.

Thankfully, you possess both. Always remember that you need to be wise and careful about making decisions. Be impartial but also smart when dealing with your tribe members" Himlo said.

"Ancestor can I make a request?" Lulm asked.

"Go on. If I can fulfill it then I will" Himlo answered.

"I wish to be your messenger like ancestor hor" Lulm made his request.

He felt a searing heat from the non existent gaze as the pair of eyes narrowed at him.

"Ok" Himlo said as his eyes glowed.

Lulm felt his mind invaded by an invisible force which descended upon him while his eyes glowed with himlo's own.

When the glow dimmed lulm felt the force on his mind disappear. He heard a notification ring in his ear *Ding* Congratulations you have been chosen as the messenger of the higher being himlo*

It wasn't until the time of the Tribe Head Lulm that the expansion of the Dimoa Tribe became rapid.

Lulm had started a conquest shortly after he became the tribe's chieftain.

In the western rainforests of the northern continent, humans of a certain tribe surrounded the small white obelisk at the centre of the tribe.

They held hands around the obelisk as they listened to the words of the human in front of them with white hair.

Diane's descendants who were chosen to be the messengers of semna had their hair slowly turn white the longer they remained in service to her missions and orders.

In front of the white haired human were two wooden slates and two stone slabs. He read out the words inscribed on the slates and slabs out loud as the crowd behind him repeated his words.

Harris was a descendant of Diane and the current higher being messenger of his generation.

Twice a month, the human villagers would gather round the obelisk to read out the rules written in the cor order.

The slates and slabs were placed close beside the obelisk but the thing about them was that they couldn't be touched by anyone except semna's messenger.

This was probably due to the special effect that the obelisk gave to the objects.

After twenty minutes of reading out the rules of the cor order, the villagers began to chant as light appeared around the obelisk as it glowed.

A few villagers walked torwards the obelisk and stood beside it as light flashed around their bodies.

After reading out the rules of the cor order garvin turned to the villagers and said "Hunters should remain"

The rest of the villagers left the obelisk site but the villagers who had walked towards the obelisk earlier.

Garvin looked at the villagers that remained and turned to the side of the obelisk. He pronounced a group of strange words as the light that flashed around the hunters suddenly reappeared at their chests before enveloping them completely and then disappeared.

Garvin heard a notification *Ding* Congratulations your tribe hunters have been blessed by semna and given the gifts of the hunt*

"Who is the leader of your hunting party today?" Garvin asked.

A young hunter with lush black hair walked out from the hunters present and got on his knees.

Garvin turned to the obelisk and took a necklace made of animal hair and bones hich he placed on the human's neck.

One could see a set of small shaped carved into one of the bones.

Garvin also gave the other hunters their own necklaces that were close to the obelisk but those ones did not contain bones but just animal hair and clay.

After doing that the hunters held each others hands as light shot out of the bone and animal hair necklace.

The other necklaces also gave off a dim glow before it disappeared. The moment it disappeared all of the hunters present heard a notification.

*You have formed an hunting party of 18 members*

A tab opened to each member of the hunting party.

It showed info about the rest of the party.

*Party Rank - 1

Purpose - Hunting

Average Age of Members - 28

Average Level of members - Level 14

Members in Party - 1

Party Abilities

1. Enhanced Stamina - Each member of the party has their bodies enhanced and capable of hunting for longer periods of time.

2. Enhanced Tracking - Each member of the party has all the senses involved in hunting improved and heightened.

3. Stealth - The party has the ability to hunt while being unnoticed by the wild animals of the rainforest*

This was what was shown to every hunter in the party but for the leader he was able to see the names of all the members in his party and their levels as well as their state of mind and health e.g Angry, Sad, Sick and Healthy.

All of this was because of one of the laws that Shawn had placed in his world. He called it the law of activities and parties.

"The law of activities stated that if people formed or joined a party for an activity or purpose e.g hunting, fighting. They had to have a common item infused with any of the energies mainly mana and sensory energy as for physical energy there was an alternative for that.

These items would be the catalyst that binds them to each other and the system would create a party and give them skills depending on the energy and material used and if necessary.

Skills could be given, gained or created by the agreement of all party members.

"Why are we a rank 1 party and why do we only have three skills?" One of the new hunters asked garvin.

"From the added rules of the cor order, the ranks are dependent on your level, level 1 to 20 is rank 1 and 21 to 40 is rank 2 and rank 1 parties only have three skill sets" Garvin replied.

The hunter nodded stating that he understood.

After the hunters left, Garvin turned to the young child who stood a distance away from the obelisk, watching.

He walked towards the young child and said "One day, you will also do things like this"

The young child nodded his head in agreement. Garvin smiled.
